That actually hurts to watch.
Big Gov. did a shit ton for us and I thank him for that….but he was never a true high IQ point guard.
My man Reggie telegraphing where he’s going to pass it for like 13 seconds.
I was foolishly in the camp that felt we didn’t need a “true” point guard, since the playoffs become very iso-heavy anyway. Was absolutely wrong.
Having an elite PG like Harden does so much for Kawhi and the rest of the guys. It’s crazy how back in 2020, we were still looking for a true PG and there were crazy hopes we’d get Holiday. Now, we have Harden, with Russ as a backup.

You can tell Harden is the point guard Kawhi (and PG) have always wanted lol. I’m like 90% sure the Rondo and Wall (and Russ, who has worked out better for us than those two tbf) acquisitions were driven by those two more than they were the front office. Harden is actually good enough to run an offense because he can initiate the offense, make great reads AND he can score from anywhere unlike the failed point guard experiments of the past. Being a good passer isn’t good enough if you’re not a real threat as a scorer.
They say we shouldn’t regret stuff. But I hate myself for believing we could make it with Reggie, Nico and Luke….WTF that was just awful

When we got Westbrook so many were against it saying we don’t need a ball dominant PG. Looking back we underestimated the effect of getting Kawhi and PG easy opportunities.
