Detroit Pistons trade for Simone Fontecchio reaction

Detroit Pistons trade for Simone Fontecchio reaction

Hey guys what’s going on Anthony here with pistons stock and the reason why I’m making a video is because your Detroit Pistons just made a trade so the Detroit Pistons have traded for two-way forward Simone fento from the Utah Jazz now you’re probably thinking I’ve never

Heard of this guy is he any good did we get fleeced in this trade I’m going to be breaking down the trade breaking down what Simon feko is doing this season we’re going to be reading his stats going looking at his count contract outlook for your Detroit Pistons and I’m

Going to give you my over overall Thoughts with this trade so let’s get into it so this comes from Adrian War Janowski and I’m going to put it on the screen for you guys so you can see it he says the Utah Jazz are trading Simone

Feko to the Detroit Pistons for a 2024 second round pick sources tell ESPN wch also got more news about this trade he said that Kevin knocks any 2024 second round pick via Washington and draft rights to Gabriel proa to the Jazz in the deal sources tell ESPN so let’s

Break down this trade okay so you’re sending Kevin Knox hilariously enough who was part of the James wisman trade last year he’s going to be part of the Simone fio trade this year you’re also sending the only second round draft pick that you had this year and it was the

Washington Wizards second and the Washington Wizards are going to have a good second round pick this year and it’s going to the Utah Jazz it’s probably going to be like really low3s like I If I Had the gas anywhere from like I don’t know 33 to 36 so you’re

Giving up the only second round pick that you had in this trade and you’re also giving up the draft rights to a player you drafted in the second round a few years ago Gabriel Pro which I know there was a huge Gabriel Pro fan club um

He’s not going to be part of the Detroit Pistons anymore he’s going to the Utah Jazz now whether or not Gabriel pra plays basketball in the NBA that is yet to be determined I thought this year at the very earliest he would have played at least in the Las Vegas summer league

That didn’t happen even though he was in Vegas I thought he could have played for the Motor City cruise that didn’t happen uh he is playing over in Europe still I personally think he needs maybe another year or two of development then maybe he’ll come over to the United States and

Play basketball in the NBA but uh I wouldn’t be too sad if I was a piston fan because we really don’t know what Gabriel pra is to me I’ve always thought of him as the mystery box like he might be good he might not we’re gonna H just

Have to wait and see but that was basically the the full trade breakdown Kevin Knox a 20 24 second in the draft rates to Pro now getting back to fento looking at his stats right this year with the Jazz he’s played 50 games he’s almost averaging nine points a game

Three and a half rebounds one and a half assist shooting 45% from the field 39 from three 80% from the free throw line he’s 68 and he’s 28 years old now I was kind of surprised that he was 28 years old I thought he was actually a little bit

Younger but 28 to me is still young enough where he can grow with this team when the Pistons um are winning more than whatever they’re going to win this year I thought they were going to win more than 17 games but right now 17 would actually feel like progress um I I

Feel like he’s going to be a guy that’s going to be a part of this team for the long-term future obviously I know his contract situation we’ll get to that in a minute but you know 28 a guy that can shoot close to 40% from three he’s a

Movement shooter he’s a two-way forward um and I think that’s what really intriguing about fento is his ability to play on both ends of the floor now I’m not saying he’s a lock down Defender by any means you guys but he’s a guy that I

Think a lot of you guys will be very surprised with um he can put the ball on the floor he’s a movement shooter um he can pass a little bit defend block shots um and I think the biggest reason why he wasn’t really utilized in Utah is

Because you look at Utah’s front Court like they traded for John Collins um they have Lori marinan um I’m trying to remember the name of the power forward they drafted and this year’s draft class it’s I can’t think of it right now but I’m sure a lot of you guys will probably

Remember it for me but they were very loaded in the front court and that’s a big reason why fento didn’t play not to not to say that he’s a bad player because I know some of you guys are going to say like well if he was so good

Why wasn’t he playing more Utah’s front Court was absolutely loaded um in the little playing time he did get he damn near shot 40% from three so um that’s pretty good in my opinion um I want to get to the contract situation and the contract situation I think a lot of you

Guys will like so for this season in 2023 2024 he’s only making $3 million right and that’s that’s nothing for the production that he’s going to be giving you because I’m just telling you guys now his numbers are probably going to go to the roof he’s probably going to have

Career highs the second half of the season with the Detroit p he’s going to have way more opportunities I’m just telling you guys that now so 3 million and he’s going to be a restricted free agent this summer and he’s got a qualifying offer for $3.8 million I think for the value you’re

Getting I’m giving him that qualifying offer for less than $4 million uh 28 years old can shoot damn near close to 40% from the field if I had to give this trade a letter grade I’m going to give it a b and the reason why I’m going to

Give this Trade A B is just for the fact that you had to attach a second round pick and now you don’t have any and I know some people will probably say well like who cares about second round picks like you can get a second round pick

Anytime you want um I still think second round picks are valuable I still think you can get guys in value in the second round um obviously the Pistons haven’t really done that in recent memory like the only one I could I could come off right the top of my head right now is

Like Chris Middleton and Spencer Den witty um but I I I think that when when you’re looking at this trade as a whole you’re getting a guy that can play both ends of the floor you’re getting a guy that can shoot 40% close to 40% from

Three you could plug him in for Bo on bogdanovich if you want to use boan Off the Bench assuming Ban’s still on this team um because because it is February 7th as I’m recording the video and the trade deadline um ends February 8th but overall I I think this is a good trade

Um you’re getting value with this guy he wasn’t getting a whole lot of minutes in Utah but I want to know what you guys think Down Below in the comment section let me know what you think of this trade for Simone fio um are you for it are you

Against it are you like me you’re not you don’t really like that you gave up a second round pick to get him are you said about Gab Pita um not coming to he won’t he won’t be coming over to the Detroit Pistons he he does come over he’ll be a member of

The Utah Jazz talk to me in the comment section I’ll talk to you guys down there like always hope you guys are staying safe take care and I will catch you guys in the next video [Applause] Peace [Applause] He

  1. I learned about him the first time we played the jazz and cooked us. I proceeded to pick him up in fantasy and he's been solid for me 😂

  2. I can tell a lot of people don’t know or watch basketball this is actually a great trade he can shoot and better than Knox but dang Knox came back and got dished again is funny to me lol 😂 Great Trade! A+ Pistons this season over for my Pistons!

  3. This is a solid trade if they resign him for under 12 mil. It might take that much to keep him but Pistons will be able to match any offers.

  4. I don’t think this is a very good trade bro. That second rounder is gonna be a good pick. Is this all you can get? If this isn’t a set up for something bigger, Troy weaver is f&@g up 🤦🏽‍♂️ feel sorry for Kevin Knox. When he got time he actually was solid

  5. I'm okay with it, for now. I'll be difficult making any more trades without second round picks to attach to them. I don't want to give away any firsts until we are actually good. And I like the fact we got value for Knox who we just picked up from free agency.

  6. I think its a solid trade. 32nd pick and stuff for a young quality wing who can defend and shoot. Yeah I'll take that all day for this team. The hope at 32 is to find productive guys like this and although Knox has played well he had zero value so this is a small win for the Pistons. Simone Fontecchio's won't command much on the open market and he's RFA. The point is to get shooting and defense around this core. Weaver today made a small effort towards that goal.

  7. Can't really say he wasn't playing much in Utah – he's been starting since mid-December and averaging around 25 mpg. This is what makes Danny Ainge so good – nobody outside of Utah even heard of Simone 90 days ago… today he has trade value. As a Jazz fan, I like the trade for both teams… Good Luck Pistons, wishing you guys well!

  8. I like it! And I believe we will trade our 1st round this year in the draft day, like go down in the 1st round for 2 picks, or even a low 1st and a 2nd…

For Fontecchio I like, he fills a role that the team needs..

  9. Doesn't really move the needle. Another trade where we obtain a player who "spaces the floor & shoots a good % from 3"?? Where does he play at, the 3 or 4? Not happy we had to include a 2nd rd pick.

  10. Bro we don’t need nomore picks too many players need to develop after this top pick this year there won’t be anymore room

  11. Troy has always been able to bring value in his trades. It just his team building haven’t been great. Guys can’t be on the court together which I hate

  12. I'm a Utah Jazz fan and you guys are going to love having Fontecchio on the Pistons. He hustles, is a decent defender and knocks down the three at a good rate. He's going to get more opportunities in Detroit and I expect to see him shine with the Pistons. I'm going to miss having him on the Utah Jazz. 🥺

  13. Im a jazz fan and Fontecchio has been solid this year. I'd say he's a taller, slightly younger and less hyped Alex Caruso.
Dunn is our best defender, but Fontecchio would be the second. He plays hard and a lot of nights guarded the opponents best player.
I think he could have a similar effect that Dillon Brooks has had on the rockets.
The 2nd rounder is pretty high, so I think it's a fair trade for us.

  14. He's more than a decent defender. He's a great wing defender. As a jazz fan, if yours is a b. Letter grade and ours is a c

  15. Jazz lost very good player, pistons gain a lot. Sad to see Simone go. One of better defenders what jazz had. Guess jazz tank again.

  16. Jazz fan here, and I gotta tell you all that Simone is a baller. He was probably my third favorite player on the roster after Lauri and Sexton.
I don't think it was mentioned here, but Simone has been starting games form 1/2 of this season so far, and that corresponded (along with Sexton starting) to the Jazz turning into a playoff contender.
Simone is a hustle guy, has a sweet shooting stroke, is a big physically imposing wing, and seemed to be a well-liked teammate.
I'm really sad he's been traded. That's another euro wing you all have nabbed from us in the past 3 years (I still miss Bojan!)
Enjoy! I honestly don't know what my team got out of this aside from maybe giving Taylor Hendricks some rotation time, but knowing this frustrating team, that time may just go to Agbaji (who's sorta fallen out of the rotation this year over Simone.
I think you all will be very very happy with this fine Italian baller

  17. I think he would still be better than the upcoming 2nd round pick that we would’ve gotten. And the price is reasonable. He would supposedly be adding on scoring and defense. Do think this was prudent.

  18. He's got a high level motor and great NBA size. He can knock down 3s without needing many touches. I see him being great for you guys and probably can move him on later for even more value, probably like you will with Bogey
