Trade deadline rant

Hey thunderbuds. Would just like to rant about this upcoming trade deadline. Im just sick of all these analysts, podcasters and so called thunder fans demanding the team to make a trade at the deadline. These are the same people saying that the front office is wasting SGA’s years. I get it. The team is not perfect. BUT NO ONE EXPECTED THE TEAM TO BE AT THE TOP OF THE STANDINGS AT THIS STAGE OF THE SEASON. Can we just enjoy the progress of the team this season? We came into this season with little expectations. Sure, we want the team to be in the playoffs but no one expected us to be neck and neck at the top with the defending champs. Been a fan of the team since 09 and yes, Presti did have some blunders over the years. He did fumble the ball on that Harden deal (or did he?) and some might even say that KD’s departure was his fault (total BS btw). But we won’t have these talent and assets now if it weren’t for him. The man is a proven genius. Can we just let him and the team cook? Apologies for the long rant. I tried so hard not to include curse words in this post lol ⚡️

I agree, while personally I’m done with giddey and I don’t believe in him being useful for our team going forward, I don’t have any problems with sticking with this roster going into the playoffs.

Why cant there be a trade using some of the people on the team that are not getting any mins and should theoretically have some value (like Mann/Poku)?

It doesnt have to be a big trade just something to shore up obvious shortcomings the team has.

The future is not guaranteed so any time you are a top 4 seed in your conference it is always worth trying to improve your team for the playoffs.

Preseason expectations are irrelevant at this point now that we have a large enough sample size to show we are a good team.

Hoping the team makes a trade doesn’t mean people are wanted a blockbuster trade to go down. We just hope that the team make smart trades to get players that fit our needs to help make the team more competitive come playoff time.

This original post is overly dramatic, and not indicative of the general consensus of this board. Most people are in support of a minor trade to improve the team. But regardless, every fan is entitled to his or her opinion.

Also “let Presti cook” doesn’t usually involve not cooking. Lol

As a side note you should go back and review all of the Presti trades/non trades at the trade deadline over the past 10 plus years. He absolutely screwed up a team with three All Star level players on it.

Presti is a smart man. I hope he learns from his mistakes.

We definitely should make some sort of trade. Generally I agree on just seeing the young team grow together, but we have Bertans’ contract to use for salary matching this year and we won’t next year. That’s an asset that we should make some use of before we lose it
