[Lewenberg] Gary Trent Jr. will go into the deadline shooting 48% from 3 over the last 26 games (was 4-8 tonight) – 1st among 51 players with 150+ attempts over that span. Of all the Raptors players who could be on the move before 3pm tomorrow, his market remains the hardest to get a read on

    >[If most they can get for GTJ/his expiring deal is a 2nd-rounder or 2 (as a few people I’ve spoken to recently speculated), might make sense to hang onto him. Not a perfect fit with how they want to play but brings an essential skill (shooting) and, at 25, can grow with young core](https://twitter.com/JLew1050/status/1755424650824204628)

Don’t understand why his market isn’t that good, he is a very good catch and shoot guy. Teams like the Lakers or Magic are great fits for him

    KEEP HIM

I still dont get the hate he gets, hes a SG a SG’s only job is to shoot

GTJ is a good player as long as you understand his limitations. He’s an inconsistent 3 point shooter who can carry an offense when he’s hot, and shoot a team out of a game when he’s cold since he doesn’t really bring anything outside of his shooting.

He’s solid as a 3 point specialist, just don’t expect him to add more to his offensive package since he lacks the athleticism and length to get to the rim and finish at a good rate.

Honestly I think he’d be great with Denver/Mavs or any other team with peak elite facilitator that can find shooters where ever they are in the court.

My money is on keeping Trent and letting Barnes evolve into that facilitator. It’s not like trent is old or has a play style that will age him out of the game too quickly.

I’m not sure Gary has received the development from the coaches or even commitment from the FO that he needs in order to improve his game. It’s possible his only role has been to shoot. If they keep him he can get more development and role definition I think
