[Aaron J. Fentress] The Trail Blazers received heavy interest in Malcolm Brogdon, according to a source, but the offers simply weren’t good enough for the franchise to part ways with the veteran guard.

Going off of the deals that were made today this tracks. Looked like a bunch of mid ass picks and garbage being moved around.

i’m sure three 2nd round picks will be available in the summer, yes.

most of the contending rosters have more picks available this summer and teams like orlando and san antonio may also enter the market for a veteran guard.

i’m fine with not trading him at the deadline. i am *not* fine with keeping him to try and eke into the play-in next year when it’s clear we’re not close to being good yet.

Good, deals today were garbage and I’m not keen on trading Brogdon for trash just to trade him. I’m sure these same offers will be available this summer and Brogdon is more valuable to us right now than those.

I do hope Scoot takes more and Brogdon goes down more when Shae comes back

I’m surprised that no one was willing to part with a first or two to have a real tilt. So many looked like they went all in over summer to win, and many still had assets to make a play.

  5. Good GMs are able to make deals. The “nothing good was available so we didn’t make the trade” excuse gets old over 3-4 seasons. Either Cronin needs to ramp up his expertise or this organization needs to bring in more an experienced GM and assistants in.

Nooooo why didn’t Cronin take the two seconds and salary filler????? /s

next year brogdon is expiring and the draft is better also. perhaps there will be a desperate team willing to fork over a pick next year. the more i think about it the more i’m ok keeping brogdon. it’s my blind enthusiasm for the draft really sticking in the gears of this decision tbh

He’s worth more than seconds so that makes sense

We can always trade him for peanuts later
