Not terrible
> He had tried resting but this procedure turned out to be the best route to get him fully healed and playing again for the stretch run and postseason, sources said.
I had a feeling man. Hopefully it’s a successful surgery where he doesn’t miss any extra time.
Randle, OG and Mitch all resuming basketball activities late February? I’ll take that honestly.
expected. glad we could trade for Bojan and Burks to provide us with some backup until he’s back. ultimately a good move
Wow.
Did the Knicks not want to release this info before the deadline to make sure other teams didn’t know they were desperate??
Good news all things considered
Woj gotta chill with the “BREAKING” I thought that was bout to say out for the season
Timed it well with the all star break. The new depth we got should tie us over until then
Honestly, I think it’s the right call. We have enough talent now after the trade to compete until he’s back. Need him at 100% for the playoffs, not playing through an injury.
JUST HOLD THE LINE 💎🙌
no wonder Knicks were so tightlipped about OG’s status recently. didn’t want to let teams know how desperate they were for reinforcements
All star break couldn’t have come at a better time
This is BEST CASE SCENARIO…
Did not want this elbow looming over him rest of season. We can weather the storm once Brunson returns (assuming after today).
We’re still before all star break, so timing is really good.
We need OG healthy for the late season/playoffs, not now.
They are doing everything right imo
lol it’s gonna be like we have a brand new team by the time everyone gets healthy
This is fine. I’d rather have it removed now than him playing hurt in the playoffs
Think this is a good move. Wonder if the Knicks knowing they were acquiring Bojan/Burks had anything to do with the timing
Get well soon yo
Sounds minor enough. I doubt they’d have done it if it means he’s out for the playoffs.
i really didnt see this coming, i thought hed do the surgery in the offseason for sure. three weeks isnt too bad, the new players can hold the fort down. hopefully julius can come back soon.
Damn. Hopefully he and the rest of the injured starters will be 100% come playoffs. The other teams won’t know what hit them once we’re fully healthy.
today has been a long day already
Not surprising after seeing the Bogi trade. We’ve seen what this team can do fully healthy so happy to see these players rest up and get healthy for the playoffs.
Hopefully this doesn’t become a reoccurring injury though
Yo put him in bubble wrap until the playoffs
GOOD, happy we got clarity and theres a plan in place. Worst thing is to start and stop.
In a month we should have OG, Randlej back and hopefully Mitch pushing the envelope.
Hopefully Bojan can carry us till OG is back
honestly extremely smart move getting the surgery done during the season and before the all star break. Once we get Randle and OG back this team can seriously compete for a championship, we Just need to somehow keep grinding out wins before they get back.
His D and 3 point corner 3s are going to be improved after this surgery!
#BIONIC OG
I’ll take it, 3 main contributors will be basically in “mid-season form” by the time the playoffs come
Not releasing this info until now is 4D chess by Leon, for the reasons already stated.
Also, by bringing in both Burks and Bojan, OG is afforded the luxury of doing the midseason surgery rather than having to play through injury. For a guy who will still be an UFA this offseason, allowing OG to get the surgery vs forcing him to play is a smart move, assuming he will be healthy for the playoffs.
