Cool so two young players who aren’t good, but also a veteran who isn’t good. Good thing they came with two late draft picks, those always turn into valuable players.

There’s still time for one more move, these new Jazz men might not stay Jazz men for long
Kooky_Photograph3185
the irony about these moves is our “brilliant” front office has finally decided to get worse it seems – except they’re doing it in a year without generational draft talent or any lottery picks….
these trades have been idiotic.

Lewis and Porter are pure salary fillers and won’t see any time on the floor? Are they expiring contracts (I hope so)?
Knox: I’m not ready to write him off just yet. I’ve heard he has looked occasionally much better this season. Maybe he has some potential left in him?

Just like last year’s Conley trade, this seems like a move whose primary purpose is to clear minutes for Hendricks

Crank up the tank again, we’re putting it in overdrive!

Wasn’t Otto in Bulls at the same time as Lauri and Dunn, maybe he will flourish also

I want to be optimistic. Yesterday I was telling myself that Fonteccio didn’t fit our future plans to justify the trade, but I honestly feel that Tech fits more into our future than any of these 3 new players. I know I’m higher on Knox than a lot of people here and think he’ll do alright, but the trade with Toronto has me scratching my head.
On the bright side, if this means Hendricks finally starts getting NBA minutes then I’m all for it, but it’s a fairly lackluster return for what we gave up.

A good thing is that they are all expirings, so unless they show value, they’ll be off the books in a couple of months. With lockjam of guards, I can’t picture Kira Lewis sticking around. I guess Kevin Knox has a shot with Olynyk, Agbaji, and Fontecchio gone. I’m going to miss Fontecchio, but I feel he was going to command a decent contract this summer, and we probably weren’t looking to resign him. Otto Porter Jr appears to be garbage at this point, obviously we’re going to resign him.

2 years in, the rebuild just isn’t making any sense to me. If Ainge’s plan has been to tank all along, then why does he hold on to good players that help us win games until the trade deadline before shipping them away? By then, we’ve won too many games to be in contention for a high lottery pick, but are now not good enough to push for the playoffs down the final stretch of the season. Perpetual 30-40 win seasons is the worst spot you can be in as an NBA franchise, and Ainge has steered us in that direction two seasons in a row now. We need to either commit to tanking or make moves that will significantly improve the team: we can’t do both.

An absolutely underwhelming and disappointing trade deadline. I would have rather just kept all 3 of our boys than trade them for scraps in a historically bad draft.

If Hardy turns any of these people into acceptable NBA players, put him in the Hall of Fame *immediately*

Glad we became extra shit for 2 picks in the 25-35 range, don’t be surprised if our pick doesn’t convey

And I believe all three will be UFA’s at the end of this season (along with Dunn, THT, and Samanic)

as a pels fan all i can really say about kira is that he’s got *potential* to be a decent role player. really young, really athletic and fast. can lead a fast break here and there. but for some reason can barely finish around the rim contested. but dropped like 30 points and a game winner 3 or something in the g league a couple weeks ago.
he was the youngest player of his draft and was a project pick right before we started realizing college vets were the way to go. so he hasn’t had much development. i will say though his rookie year and sophomore year he actually was a rotational player and his second year looked genuinely good before he got injured for the season. that was the last he ever did anything worth noting. that was over 2 years ago.

Have always loved Otto Porter’s game when he plays. It’s been a long time since he’s consistently played, though.

I hope there is a surprise in here, but woof.
