Hollinger: Trade deadline was a dud when it comes to major swings. Here’s why

John Hollinger throwing haymakers at the Hawks:

>*”Still, this year felt quieter than usual. Maybe we’re accustomed to the annual spectacle of the Hawks spending the whole year engaged in trade talks for a key starter and then not doing anything…”*

Landry’s still got his pants down by his ankles.

Status quo for this front office

They’re standing pat until they lose their superstar player for nothing.

While I do think the current regime deserves some criticism, I do wonder if LAL is getting at least as much. If someone absolutely needed to make a move, it was them, and they got nothing done.

It’s tough when so many of the first round picks are held by a third of the teams in the NBA. And very few of those teams are competing right now. Combine that with a position that is very deep right now and you can get value such as the Rozier trade. And that’s where the hawks are going to have a hard time. It’s going to be brutal if the deal yesterday is the best deal the hawks can get for him.

  5. I have hit a Buddhist mindset regarding my Hawks fandom. No matter what they do they will still be mid so nothing really matters. Make trades for scraps, do nothing, give away the farm for fringe all-stars…it does not matter. Embrace the Cicadas and memes and become enlightened.
