I mentioned it in another post, but offensively, this reminds me of Aaron Gordon going from Orlando to Denver. Gordon is the better playmaker. PJ is the better 3 point shooter, but everything else is similar. Both played for Steve Clifford before they were traded and both team’s offenses were bottom of the league. PJ’s numbers took a dip the last 2 seasons since Clifford took over at Charlotte. Like Gordon, PJ is also a good cutter, roller, and able to create for himself.
I’m hopeful that like Gordon, his efficiency will improve playing with Luka and Kyrie. Gordon went from having 53.1 true shooting percentage in Orlando to 60.2 true shooting percentage in his time in Denver. That’s a drastic change in efficiency, even with him not being a good 3 point shooter.
