This 3-step sequence is amazing. The separation that he gets with his pivot is absurd

  1. And he does it un full control and perfect balance. He makes this type of shots every night and we are just so used to it

Dude is shooting 38% from 3 on high volume while taking the most contested shots in the league, crazy

It works because he is a 3 level scorer. If he could not drive to the basket as well he could, the defenders wont even budge.

Also I like his split stance so much. His legs are already so far apart.

Can’t remember what game I was watching, but the commentator was praising a player for attempting a stepback 3 in a fast break that they bricked, because of how hard it is to stop at full speed like that and even get off a semi accurate shot and having watched Luka so much I hadn’t put it into perspective yet

i was actually just watching a clip of someone doing this move over and over, because the distance it covers really is abusrd!

on that 2nd frame you froze, you basically pound one more dribble as you begin the stepback, and that lets you cover so much ground cleanly into the shot. so hard to defend

  6. He makes stepbacks look easy, wich if you have ever played any form of basketball and tried the move, you know they are absolutely one of if not he hardest type of shot you can attempt and 9/10 times you are gonna make yourself look like a clown trying to pull them unless you are pro.

And yet, only one other player on the Mav’s even moved. 🙂
