  1. Man I remember that first game when they played the Pelicans, D Lo and Beasley hitting 3s and Vando was locking up, it was refreshing after watching the last season and half with WB

I was in line at Disneyland at Rose of the Resistance. Was celebrating with other random fans in line the moment we found out.

Ngl the worst part about this were the brick stans on here.

The “Westbrook unlocks AD” posts gave me trauma

Brick had some great moments but man the lows were low lol

Felt like manna falling down from heaven after a very long journey in the desert.

that was a traumatic experience. just sucks cos we are only slightly better. hope we can make another run

The fact that it was the day before the deadline made it so much better. Besides watching Kobe win those 2 titles without Shaq, this was the happiest day of my sports life.

One of my happiest days of being a Lakers fan for 30 years

I think it’s time we admit Russ wasn’t the problem, his contract was toxic and forced a role that didn’t do anyone any favors on him.

I attended the first post-Westbrook era Laker game against the Bucks. Bron and AD both sat, Cole Swider managed to get minutes because of all the traded players not being there yet, and LeBron was given a pre-game award ceremony for breaking the scoring record in the prior game with speech and award presented by Big Game James Worthy. Good times.

westbrook is still a good player. just shouldn’t be taking up 40m worth of your cap for his production.

The butterfly effect – we shoud’ve never made the Russ trade in the first place. If anyone in this franchise had listened to the younger Busses (Jesse), we would’ve never been in that sheet. Russ was just having a low quality copy of his 2015-2018 prime season in 2021 (!!!!! could you believe it>) with a 34-38 team, that was 20-33 before the others started tanking. That’s reallly sad.

That’s all on Pelinka since he gave away Kuzma, KCP (well done Denver) and Caruso. He made up with the retool at the deadline, but it makes just a ZERO for now.

I like his no-panic moves at the deadline and not overpaying for DFS or other players, but still, his original sin (i know he believes in that BS) hurts us still.

The stuff that gets me the most is that Rob is gonna stay here because of the Kobe connection no matter what. Rob should’ve been fired for the Russ trade – he made the scapegoat of Vogel (he wasn’t perfect) – Ham wasn’t fired because ROB was not – it’s just bad franchise management.

When we exchanged Russell’s cuz the one we had was broke

It couldn’t be that the worst basketball coach in the NBA messed up his mind. The Clippers are experiencing the energy Russ brings to the court when he is used properly. So the Lakers gave away a future HOF for nothing. Ham kept playing Russ when the whole basketball world saw him screwing up. Ham couldn’t figure out how to bench him.

The thing about DLo is not only did the trade remove the net negative that Westbrook was, but he was integral part of the Lakers’ incredible run to WCF. He was absolutely able to take over games as needed, especially if LeBron was not back yet or resting. He works well with AD and AR, and helped AR develop into a better player.

  17. AlternisDim

And now he willingly comes off the bench 😂

  18. I love Russ

I think if we still had Phil Johnson as our coach he could have helped these guys win together.

Kobe and Shaq struggled to win together until Phil worked his magic.
