This WILL Work for the Raptors… (just not right now)

This will work for the Toronto Raptors just not right now the Raptors just got smoked by the Cleveland Cavaliers you might look at it and say hey that’s a mess of a team we’re tanking the tanks out the Kazo are out everything is out you know in terms of racing for those

L’s but we just say some of the best teams in the NBA right now one of the hottest teams in the NBA and there were a ton of bright spots from this game obviously things aren’t put together there’s a lot of holes there’s a lot of inconsistencies this roster isn’t in

Full former a young team lots of stuff to take away but Scotty Barnes shows flashes of greatness as the number one option gry dick proven that he might might be making a case as the starting sort of wing player for this Raptor’s group space in the floor like he did in

This game here tonight Kelly oen his fit with this sort of system with this sort of group took him a little while to sort of get into the mix of things get rolling but frankly I really like the acquisition of Kelly oen heck even um o

Sh obaji he’s a guy that didn’t make his shots tonight but I still sort of like the feel of him out there on the court so there are a lot of positive takeaways that I’m going to run through for this game again right now we’re looking for development we’re looking at patience

We’re looking at this team as a squad for the future and I’m not discouraged by what I saw from this team tonight but folks if you want to stay up to date with everything regarding this team through the highs and the lows I mean it means the most if you subscribe right

Now because you’ll be through the the dark ages of the Toronto Raptors or a dark time in the Toronto Raptors period because frankly it is looking gross right now that was we had a high with the Houston Rockets game last night and I think a big part of it is the role

Players on this team just aren’t going to be consistent yaka purle again some nights he looks like a Bonafide proper Center in this league he’s getting disrespect in stuff and then when he plays against these big Pro you know the big traditional big man athletic sort of

Dominer ing in the rim and stuff he’s struggling this one he’s struggling this one he has some nice matchups again yaka purle he he’s making me flipflop back and forth because I thought he was struggling due to injury and then he plays phenomenal for a couple of nights

And then he just drops stinkers like this it’s tough to really get a gauge on where we’re at with yako purle who who he is as a player and stuff along those lines but tonight a stinker yaka perto game and then you get a stinker game from the Toronto Raptors just in general

So that’s a part of it but Scotty Burns I’m not starting with the negatives 20 point plus Point blowout to the Cleveland Cavaliers I’m not starting with negatives I’m starting with positives because Scotty Burns again we’re not consistently throwing it out this season as we did in his rookie year

But he’s getting the Scotty Burns award tonight it is back it’s deservingly so going to Scotty barns who earned himself a triple double in this game against the Cleveland Cavaliers I mean you know tonight Scotty barns 24 points 10 rebounds 10 assists one steal one block really efficient shooting and a couple

Misses around the rim but he does a really good job just attacking even some of the most elite Rim protectors you in the elite and Jared Allen mean Moy like in terms of a front Court Duo they block a lot of shots they protect the rim really well and Scotty burns when he’s

Locked in when he’s focused he can really put up some points and there’s a lot of criticism thrown the way of Scotty Burns for looking deject it looking checked out tonight that didn’t seem to be the case Scotty Barnes was seemed to be fired up for this game you

Knocked down some shots but definitely got to the paint attacking the rim that’s how Scotty should be playing inside out and I thought he did a really good job and RJ Barrett you might look at this game and say hey RJ one of his worst efficiency in ter one of his least

Efficient nights for the Toronto Raptors 14 points you five 14 shooting all of two from the three-point line four seven from the free throw line had seven rebounds one assist and stuff but if you looked at what RJ Barrett was doing the defensive end for the torona Raptors I

Thought he did a really good job as sort of the point of attack Defender regarding Donovan Mitchell who’s been putting up MVP caliber numbers as of late and Donovan Mitchell in this one terms of his stats only had 15 points five of 11 shooting so again not a held

To remarkably unefficient shooting but I thought RJ Barett did a really good job not letting him get open looks not letting him Garland whoever he was switched on to get open shots and his defense looked really St tonight and that’s something that Nick’s fans said yet high potential from but didn’t live

Up to it you know in his the last couple Seasons didn’t really develop in that area and I’ve seen RJ bar sakly become you know one of the more better Defenders for this Toronto Raptors team out there on the wing Darko rakovic is throwing him on some of the team’s

Better players so that’s something I’m definitely encouraged by and then Kelly oen you know off the bench in this one for the Toronto Raptors running some for with this team right 22 minutes in this one 11 points three rebounds three steals one block six rebounds shout out

To anyone that had him on their fantasy team because he filled up the box score in this one him and Scotty Barnes in this game but I like what I see in terms a fit with Kelly alen out there on the roster out there you know he’s going to

Get more and more comfortable playing with the Scotty Barnes of the world with all these guys so I thought that was a nice sort of plus so that that was really good Gary Tren Jr a little bit of a stinker he had that very hot January now we’re seeing some low moments from

Gary Trent Jr he heated up maybe potentially trying to get trade I don’t know what he what he’s doing but you know Gary Trent Jr didn’t uh didn’t have it here in this game tonight and again this is where the inconsistencies come from yaka purle Gary Trent J they have

Us hyped up they have us sad and then Emanuel quickley also missed a lot of floaters in this game didn’t facilitate that well just looked a little bit not like uh not like IQ that we’re hoping to see really develop and Blossom into a star player for the Toronto Raptors but

The guy that was probably the worst player for the Toronto Raptors in terms of getting minutes tonight was Bruce Brown and you know it might have been a risk it might have been a risk from J again we saw that first round pick on the table we know Evan forier was

Attached to it and stuff but maybe we should have factored in how Bruce Brown’s trade value might decline if he’s just struggling to be an impact piece on this Raptor’s group that might be something we have to factor in I mean Auto Porter Jr had some value obviously

People had to look at his injury history and stuff coming off a championship with the Golden State Warriors we picked him up and then you know asks to maybe do a little bit more gets injured and stuff with this Raptors group and you know we dealt him for pennies on the dollar here

At this trade deadline I I don’t want to overreact I don’t want to overreact but it’s hard to overreact when the games just not overreacting games just happen but Bruce Brown’s trade value might might be impacted by uh staying with the Toronto Raptors here now at this point

Don’t know if we’ll get a first for him in the future we’ll see because again the Raptors are loaded at this position he’s not going to be sort of in a position to really get some Cuts get some great plays off of these guys he’s not a great floor spacer so him

Alongside RJ Barrett Scotty Barnes doesn’t make a ton of sense especially with the AA perto out there in the lineup so it’s interesting interesting it’s interesting to see what’s going to happen for Bruce brown but that’s something I’m a little bit concerned by but again and then the last guy that

People were sort of looking at in this game here tonight is oai baji who in this game had three points I thought he did a solid job you know when he was attacking the rim had three early fouls but man he looks like a proper athlete went 05 from the three-point line but

You know did a good job at getting to the basket finishing around the paint and few those shots go down again the percentages indicate he’s not a great three-point shooter you know an elite Grady dick level three-point shooter I guess Grady dick isn’t a Grady dick level three-point shooter right now in

Terms of the numbers but those three-point shots go down he looked confident in his first game as a Toronto Raptor I’m pretty encouraged by what I saw from him you know his potential going forward again it’s going to be a transitional year for the Toronto Raptors we’ll see who sticks who doesn’t

We’ll see who what Young Players end up developing what grow and Blossom into this Raptor team so we’ll see how how it all shakes out but I don’t know it’s not working out right now because guys like purle guys like brown guys like Gary Trent Jr just aren’t going to be

Consistent especially against the top teams in the NBA but we got some good ones and Scotty Barnes RJ Barrett I still believe in IQ I like the fit of Kelly oen I lik oai abaji I mean I we’ll see we oai abaji we’ll see how it all

Sort of shakes out with him but I’m encouraged by this team long ter and you know I feel I feel a little bit teased by yaka P I bought it I was pretty on the hype train yesterday I don’t want to get too low on him right now but it’s it

Sucks when they have such high games and low games when it could have been a really nice match up for Yak but let me know what you guys think about all this Trona Raptor news you guys best make it this far subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already anyways I’m signing

Out cheers

  1. At this point raptors fans just need to be happy with individual performances as opposed to team wins. Even if the team loses but a few of the young guys have good games it's something to feel good about

  2. This team literally has to restart at training camp and develop chemistry and plays from scratch they need time i can shut the game of at halftime and not care cuz i know maassi made good moves and we got draft picks to keep building with.

  3. Trent should not start..he is so inconsistent..should start poeltl and olynyk together..trenst is trash to tonight always rushing his threes..the 3 against 1 situation where he didn’t pass the ball and force a bad layup is one of those

  4. 1:30 mentions now being the dark ages of this team, but I can think of at least two darker periods in this team’s history.

  5. Running scotty at back up pg puts the starting unit out of wack id rather have brown b back up pg keep the starters together play a bench unit as a 10 man unit.

    Yak, Olynyk
    Scotty, boucher
    Rj, dick
    Treng, ochai
    Quickley brown

Just play boucher and a 10 man unit. Play the starters 8min bench 4min then bench 6min starters 6min in the second then starters 8min bench 4min in ge 3rd starters 8min bench 4min in the 4th.
30 min for starters 18 min for bench. Everyone knows their role and when they play

  6. We played 3 solid quarters we just couldn’t fight back from that second quarter run the cavs had. Honestly for the first game with new players not a bad showing against the second best team in the east who is on a roll right now.

  7. Coaching not able to get defense to work effectively, nurse would have had maximized defensive output

  8. Shipping out Shroder was dumb. He had an extraordinary debut in Brooklyn is already a fan favorite and received standing ovation. What was with the hate he received from fan boys. Not realizing his value obviously and knee jerk reaction with dumb fans comparing him to FVV

  9. I want to see a big lineup on the floor at least once with Kelly at the 4 and Barnes at the 3. I think this team is going to look better before it gets worse.

  10. When a team plays 2 nights in a row, they are going to be tired. These games let everyone know who the 6th men can be at positions. First night out with new trades will always be so so. I think they performed quite well.

  11. Yikes. That was an easy stroll through the park for the Cavs. Raps couldn’t do anything to stop the pick and roll and the Cavs telegraphed it every time. The same with the ally oops.

  12. It wouldn’t work right now, next week/month/year. If they are not willing to learn to work as a team it will probably never work.
    What you smoked ??😂😂

  13. Poeltl is so trash. He get's exposed every time he plays against a good center. Masai really gave this bum $80M…

  14. The eternal optimist, this Raptors Team is not worth watching, until fans stay home and keep the arena empty, nothing will be done. I personally don’t even bother to watch anymore

  15. Went to the game last night – you pick some stuff up you don't see on TV. The perimeter defense and the defensive rebounding is sad. The help comes but guys get so deep that we have no chance to properly recover. The offense will come. It seems a bit like they pass for the sake of passing at times – they are making moves the a premeditated motivatuin to move the ball at the expense of passing up some good shots. This type of offense will take longer to develop but if they can eventually get it right it will he great to watch. IQ is passive. I have still yet to see him do a lay-up at the rim – floaters, hook shots – never with force all the way to the rim. I don't feel like he is seeking out his 3 as much as he could given his shooting capabilities. I'm not upset and I'm glad we have turned the page but we are in this for the long haul – 2-3 years min. Ajbaji looks pretty athletic and confident. First look at him.

  16. Greg vlog Ben. I agree. Lot of positives from this game. Patience is needed. Excited about this rebuild

  17. Contrary to popular belief on this vlog and among a segment of the Raptors fan base the Raptors are not actively tanking. They (players, coaches, front office) are trying to compete and win as many games as they can. Listen to SB's words from his post game presser (Cavs) as well as Bobby Webster's words from his post trade deadline presser. They players are not trying to tank so why do some of the fans and social media influencers think so? The odds of the Raps finishing as one of the bottom 6 NBA teams (Det, Wash, SA, Char, PO, Mem) and then keeping their Lottery pick after the televised Lottery draft are really low.
