Game has its share of challenges but how much did you like your your group’s ability to come together down the stretch you know play defense get some help from fron Vagner and Come Away with the win tonight I thought it was big I think it’s like we say all the time it’s

By committee you don’t know where it’s going to come from and these guys that had not played some minutes came in and stepped up huge uh I just you know I’m proud of this group for the way in which they continue to battle and continue to

Fight specifically on go go baz is one of those guys that haven’t hasn’t played in a little bit viously we know what he did for you earlier in the season but for him to enter in that point of the game what went into that decision and

And just what did you make of his performance down the stretch and in overtime by committee you know I’m so proud of him for you and our coaches for just always staying the course um and being an unbelievable teammate no matter what’s going on uh he worked out and

Played this morning and got himself ready to go the coaches had him ready to go with the game plan uh and he just did great things out there you know extra possession offensive rebounds block shots uh great screens all the things that we know he’s capable of doing and I think just

Changing the game up tonight was something that we needed to do and and he came up big for us it seemed like Cole also kind of needed one of those nights as well and to see that tonight 11 rebounds 14 points what just has impressed you with how he’s continued to

Stay with it and you know letting it come to him and even if he isn’t finding it on the offense he’s still finding a way to contribute for the team I think that’s the be beuty and the energy of this group I mean the two people that

You just named that we just talked about Goga pazi and Cole Anthony Two Gentlemen that have you know been in been out not necessarily made all the shots or what whatever you want to say but there’s a resiliency about both of them and that’s the makeup of this team guys that are

Going to keep fighting no matter what’s happening um whether they’re in rotation or not in rotation they’re going to stay ready uh and they’re going to do what’s right to help this team find a way to get a win coach tonight Jonathan Isaac’s 25 minutes was is the most that he’s had

In a game since December 30th 2019 hearing that from him knowing all the hard work that he’s had to do to get back onto the court to be there for this team and the resiliency he’s had to go through what does that really mean for you just hearing that I’m we’re going to

Keep using that same word about this Orlando Magic basketball team resilient it’s a resilient group if a resilient group of young men that are going to do whatever is necessary to find a way to push for each other and and get the win you know and we talk about winning as

And the standard you know we didn’t play up to our standard tonight you know you have 31 points off of 17 turnovers you give up 18 offensive rebounds so those are things will clean up but you know it’s good to be able to clean those

Things up in a win but we will continue to get better and grow from this France Fran seemed to take over in in the fourth quarter kind of willing you guys back in the game he’s I think had three 30-point games here in the last couple weeks what’s been maybe different about

Him since coming back from the injury uh what what have you seen from him to to be more aggressive like that just his body of work what he’s been able to do uh to get himself back um getting that rhythm going uh his confidence that he has in his shot and

Getting to the basket and then you have to realize that a lot of these things are coming out of the applied pressure to Paulo you know they’re loaded up to Pao they double team him on the Block and he’s swinging it crosscourt to you know to fron he throws one to Jaylen

Across Court just his ability to recognize double teams and make the right play which gives a freedom to a lot of these other guys to make easier plays guy like him gets on a roll I think he had three two or three straight possessions with kind of those step back

Threes when they get on roll like that how much does that energize the rest the rest of the team and kind of key the key the comeback that you guys had it was so much momentum you know cuz fron doesn’t you know he shows his emotion you know

And it’s great to see that uh when you know how energized he is in that situation but it’s also great to see our bench and our guys celebrating him I think after he hit the one three you know that whole bench celebrated up top because they know what work he puts in

How much they trust him and just it’s how dedicated they are to winning and not afraid of any of these moments coach we’re getting a more statistically significant sample size with France’s 30-point games undefeated in those games but to your point about Paulo he’s got six plus assists in his last 10 games

Can you talk about his development and not not trying to force it and finding the open guys when when you know other guys are are rolling in that game we talk about it often and he’ll tell you and it’s the truth he’s going to make the right play he’s always trying to

Make the right play whatever that looks like um and a lot of people see the double team and him dragging it out a little long he’s trying to find the right play and he makes the right play so him having eight assists tonight um and just looking for his teammates

Understanding how he was being guarded I I think it’s just so much growth for this young man and how he understands and reads the game coach you talk about guys taking on challenges and gaining experience as you prepare for the postseason the way that Jonathan’s playing the challenges he’s

Taken on defensively just how much does his type of game potentially translate to that type of environment it that’s what it is it’s it’s high level um and you know I’ve said the word elite a lot of times and that’s what he does and that’s what he causes he causes A

Disruption defensively on other teams and then you know the other side of it is you know the guys trust trust him to take those Corner threes you know Paulo Advanced it to him one time ready to knock down the corner thre so those pieces are very big in our continued

Growth and helping our young men learn how to win in this league 36 in the third quarter only 15 in that fourth quarter I know you made some Personnel adjustments in that fourth quarter but what do you tell your team at the end of that third quarter and what particular adjustment do you

Make you know in order to hold them to 15 points well 22 points in the last 17 minutes uh I think that’s pretty good and you know you focus on staying in the moment right you give up those 30 6 but you have to understand like that’s a game of runs basketball is

A game of runs you just don’t get too high don’t get too low and we think we ended that run towards the end of that third quarter to give us a little bit of momentum and then going into the fourth you know we got ourselves back into it

So just staying poised staying in the moment and knowing that it’s a game of runs but we’ve got to control the things that we can you mentioned earlier not playing up to the standard but what does it say about this team that they’ve you how has this team’s maturity and Poise

Grown as the season goes on to to have that kind of moment where they can recover from a quarter like that learning how to win you know I think that’s what it says a lot about these guys and and that being even killed the entire time not getting too high not

Getting too low the the communication they have with one another and being able to say this to each other that we’ve been here before whether that’s been through practice and scrimmages that we’ve done or real-time games these guys have seen these scenarios and situations and it’s funny we’ve been in

Basically three of them with the Chicago Bulls team so you can always reflect back at it and look at it and the film that we watched today and our coaches did a tremendous job of having them ready for this game plan and they were able to execute it down the

Stretch thank you guys every game has it share of challenges but how much did you like your group’s ability to lock in defensively you know in the fourth quarter and find a way to come out with the victory tonight um yeah man we just we have such a a a talented group and

You know that uh we just we have such a will on that defensive end to just want to guard and just not let any uh that person in of us you know score whatever it is make a play Just and so it’s just it’s such a pride on that defensive end

And I think that really showed down the stretch Tonight Cole it it has been a minute since we’ve talked to you at podium like this uh just for you to stick with that and stick with this and contribute in those the overtime with four points and the rebounds tonight just where does

That resiliency come from for you oh man man a lot of therapy man and my therapy I mean that time in that gym just just for me I just you know had to relock in I had to kind of take a step back reassess kind of my goals and what

I want to do and so for me I just I had to go get in that gym just be consistent with that stick to a plan and um it’s allowed me to kind of get to this point and I got such a supportive team supportive coaches supportive

Organization and so um just I’m just I’m just so happy I was able to be out there and help contribute for this win what does it what does it say about this team that that they had that they had faith in you to to close this game out they

Had Faith even in a in a guy like go go who hasn’t played very much to to close this game out close this game out and and pick up the win yeah man I mean it just yeah I I I don’t even know we just

Uh we um this we just got such a special group man and um it’s it’s it’s it’s so much just a uh love support for each that man next to each other on on this team whether it’s coaching staff whether it’s players front office whatever it is

Just everyone’s just it’s just a super tight-knit group and and um it’s just there’s trust you know everyone sees how how how hard the person next to them is works and so you know when you see that every day you just that that trust is built you and Goa are close what what

Did it mean for you for you to for you and really for the whole team to see googa Step Up step up in those moments and make some of the big plays that he made man I’m so hyped go was able to to get out there and uh do what he does

Best um you know he’s a true professional someone just comes in works hard every day he got jokes um you know we I think was we it was a plan I don’t remember what happened I don’t know if it was overtime four Court whatever it was where I think he did something might

Have been after the end one we was just dapping each other up dapping each other up but um no man big shout out to Goa he just um you know he he’s he’s proving that he he belongs that on that Court you know whether it was early in the season

Whether it’s his time before he played in Orlando you know he just had to you know wait for his opportunity and his opportunity came tonight and he was ready to go that’s all he can do is just stay ready Cole was there a moment during the game where that confidence

Kind of took a second gear and you kind of started feeling yourself a little bit um I don’t know if it was any specific moment I mean maybe I hit I had a little turnaround jump shot in the third quarter I think maybe fourth quarter I don’t really remember but maybe at that

Point but um you know just just had to get that engine revving again it’s booming it’s a V8 might be might be a V12 shoot Cool Cole you have a lot of guys who take pride in defense as you mentioned but Jonathan Isaac just how special does he continue to be on that

End of the floor we got a defensive belt we started giving out to the team and like the last couple games we haven’t even done it just cuz it’s just G to stay in his locker like I don’t like there’s probably maybe two guys three guys on

His team who could give him a run for his money and jayen Gary maybe Wendell but like that it ain’t going nowhere he’s I told him I think earlier this week I said Jonathan I said you’re the best defender I ever seen in my life I

Told him that and I’m like you know you’re lucky we’re not we’re not on separate teams I mean you’re lucky we’re on the same team cuz I would be your matchup nightmare but he’s just it’s incredible like I don’t want to take away from what he does like he’s

Literally like one through five moves his feet guards the post anticipates got a quick twist like just just the most versatile just Defender I’ve literally ever seen in my life call the uh the rebounds to for a guard to come off the bench with double digit rebounds uh what’s the secret to

That for me um I just you know I um uh you know I’m pretty decent athletically I think I can jump pretty high and then for me I just I think I feel like I got a knack for just kind of you know tracking where the ball’s going

To be just trying to you know I’m not the not the biggest guy out there not the tallest not the most athletic but like for me I just like all right I’m like all right I see how this shots going up let me try to predict where the

Ball’s going to go off the rim and just try to track the ball and you know that’s a look rebound is part of Defense I get that I get that rebound they don’t get another opport to score we going we going back the other way Cole uh big back toback coming up

And then obviously heading into the break what’s the mentality heading into this week man I think for us I think we want to we really want to lock in on these last two you know it’s easy to kind of look over these last two and um

It’s two more games right yeah it’s easy to look over these last two and you know look forward to the break you know ah time off blah blah blah but you know if we we we want to go into this break with a good feeling if we can go get these

Two wins I think who we got uh is it OKC and um and New York those are two teams at the top of the league right now like if we were to go you know that that’s a great feeling you know going into the break beating two of the top teams in

The in the NBA so I think for us I think we really want to key in on those two teams taking one game at a time and um prepare as best as we can and and and and be ready to to give those teams a battle and then we could talk about

Going to the break having fun blah blah blah ra ra all that but um yeah absolutely all right y obviously every game has its share of challenges but how much do you like your group’s ability in the fourth quarter to to lock in especially defensively and Come Away with the win tonight

Overtime yeah huge win for us um I think he says a lot about our team the the way the game was going and you know we we saw my found a way to to win the game um even we’re down the whole game um somehow finally get a lead in in

The fourth and then um went into overtime and started overtime really well and yeah I think like you said uh defensively I think we the second half and an overtime we we play a lot more physical got a lot of stops and um I think when that happens we just have a

Better better Vibe about our team better Rhythm offensively and then um yeah I think we got to work on turnovers not throwing the ball away so much um I think we some make a little hard on ourselves um give the other team easy opportunities but um yeah huge win for

Us how physical was this game tonight for you yeah very physical uh they do a great job of um know having a lot of people in the paint and making it tough you really got to move the ball and move bodies to to get good looks and um yeah super

Physical game super intense game and I went into overtime so I’m going to definitely enjoy Super Bowl tomorrow and not move too much yeah 14 points in in the fourth quarter to kind of help key that the comeback to to get the game to overtime what what

Were you seeing out there to kind of to spark to spark you and and help spark the rest of the team I think I I got a couple solid looks off a pick and roll and um and then after that I just you know tried to make the right play knew that

They would be a little bit more aggressive um and and but I think in general I think we did a good job of moving the ball and just just you know Finding uh different stuff that that we liked out there and um that’s what that’s what it

Is when um you know in these in these tight games um where both teams kind of know what what what the what the other team wants to do um just got to find one or two things and I think we did pretty solid job with that

Tonight fron a few weeks ago you were on JJ reck’s podcast and you talked about decelerations getting more shots close to the rim tonight you took only three pointers and only layups in the paint and 10 free throws can you talk about your continued growth as a score and

Just some of those things that that you’re saying out there yeah I think um no I try to listen when the analytics people talk to us and um um always helps when you make shots obviously and then they got to react to that a little bit but um no my shots

Been feeling really good and um I think I think when I get into the paint um a lot of eyes on me so I got to continue to get better you know I had finding open people and making plays from there and um I think tonight was a was a

Pretty good example of um know of me getting getting some good looks and getting to to the spots that I want to get to and um it’s always easy when when the shot is falling everything’s feeling a little bit better yeah France when you play in those lineups with especially

With Jonathan and with either Wendell or go go or even or even Mo it’s you got normally you have four of the five tallest players on the court so how much do you emphasize size as a team I think it’s a huge Advantage for us um know when you look at our

Roster um know even at at the guard position we a lot of tall guards and we got to continue to find ways to exploit that and um yeah like I said I think it’s an advantage uh I think uh defensively it’s obviously a little bit more obvious um but we got to continue

To find ways where uh you know we make that an advantage on offense as well and um I think ji did a great job especially that overtime getting a lot of key offensive rebounds and um no that’s exactly that I think that’s where I don’t know where we exactly rank um in

Terms of points in the pain but I think we’re we’re pretty high up uh in the league and um that definitely helps I think this is your third 30-point game since coming back from from the injury I think all your shooting percentages are are are up from since that time too

What’s what’s the Rhythm that you feel that you’re in or or what what’s maybe feeling different differently about about you since coming back from the injury I think I’m I’m I’m having a good Rhythm Um just try to play good basketball honestly just try to see what’s out there and see what the defense is doing um what I can do to to help my team win and um yeah I think I think a lot of different things are coming together um

You know maybe stuff that um at the start of the Season know some easy ones weren’t falling for me and if you continue to work at some point um that stuff’s going to work out so um we just got to continue with the process and and stay with

It thank you thank you obviously each game presents its share of challenges but how much do you like your group’s ability in the fourth quarter to Block in defensively and and really carry it through to overtime to Come Away with the victory tonight yeah it was it was

Huge um you know even when they had moments of um you know hitting us back you know I just felt like we stayed so resilient so locked in so together and uh for us to close out this win with the circumstances of being down early and coming back and fighting it was

Phenomenal you played the most minutes since 2019 25 tonight just how do you feel physically I know we’ve talked a lot about getting your legs back under you and what not but how do you feel after tonight’s performance in a very physical game yeah no tonight was a challenge they was extremely physical

Banging with v and Drummond down there um but I felt good definitely tired towards the end there but glad I was able to you know stick it out stay on the floor and and you know help us get a win talk so much about your defense and

What you offer on that end but all those offensive rebounds tonight just what What’s the timing and what goes into grabbing that many offensive rebounds and putting yourself in the right spot I feel like I felt like my timing was off I missed that one at the buzzer there I

Missed time jump but uh but yeah just just just trying to do whatever I can to you know be of service and help to the team um if that’s offensively defensively and uh you know I had a decent matchup with you know D rozan

Guard me so I I tried my best to get on the offensive glass and it worked out I mean obviously closing with a little bit of a different lineup than than usual what what does it say about about Goa being ready ready to come in

At the end of the game when he hasn’t really played very much in in the last couple weeks it’s it’s honestly amazing you know I I I think we really um um you know are the luckiest team when it comes to having three extremely capable bigs

And to have a you know what people call a third string big that can close out games and go on the run that Goa had earlier in the season to you know help us continue to win games was crazy and so um you know I told him he you know he

Made himself some money early early on this season and he continues to show out show it with u his ability to you know come in dry and just help the team win a game jayi what’s the energy like in a locker room after a win like this and

For you personally to go against V you know someone that you you know went to battle with for a couple years you know what what is that feeling like for for you personally yeah I love being V so the Knicks as well as when when

Evan was there um Denver as well with ag so uh so yeah it was it you know everybody’s ecstatic everybody’s happy um and just games like that when when you know that you you didn’t just win but you took it you know you you grinded it out you know down to the final

Minutes and you find a way to win those are the games that really mean something and so we’ll carry that into you know our next game as well yeah you had a perfectly timed block on wanyama last game you know you got Caruso and a few

Of their guys this game just how much are you feeling in Rhythm defensively with with your timing right now I feel like I’m getting there I definitely feel like I’m all the way there um still feel a little stiff um you know guarding guarding ball handlers and whatnot and

Just timing you know uh just feeling it out and figuring out I’m still getting there but um I’m definitely feeling more and more in sync and and timing when it comes to to being on defensive end when Cole Anthony comes in here he says a lot

Of things you know he told us that earlier in the week he he told you that you’re the best defender he’s ever seen is that true but but but I’m I’m lucky huh that that part part as well you said that he did he said that no Co is

Obviously delusional but um but no no I appreciate him you know they they the got show me a ton of Love um and it doesn’t go unappreciated so I’m I’m I’m glad that they they see the effort and you know they they try their best to you know be encouraging and I appreciate
