Ime Udoka on Jalen Green’s triple-double in loss to Hawks

Ime Udoka on Jalen Green’s triple-double in loss to Hawks

What you think just the way your guys responded to the circumstances and all the guys missing everything else uh I would say okay at best they had a lot of guys missing as well so um we always feel like we have enough but um similar to the Toronto game where you

Come out you know not with the right intensity of times and get yourself in a hole and then start to play from there so whatever we’ve done in these last two games specifically uh Toronto and tonight to come back and work our way back into it we got to bottle that up

From the start and um come out with that effort put oursel in that deficit so a little disappointed as far as that been resilient getting our way back into it and then too undisciplined at the end jayen had his first career triple double tonight what did you see from jayen yeah

He was he was playing the right way obviously um got himself in the groove as far as passing early uh finding guys you know had some good carry over from Toronto not playing in the crowd as much um you know we like to have a few back

Especially a late late pass that got bad down there but played a solid game all around um Obviously good to see him passing the ball when he has it in his hands more often than obviously when Fred and certain guys there so there was some good improvement from last game to

Tonight with that in mind is is that something that’s almost a lesson that it’s not avoid mistakes at all times it’s how you learn from them learn from them and in key situations and so you know what I just said to the group was um you know as as poorly as we played

Especially in that second quarter that was really the quarter that you know got it away from us um we still worked our way back into it you know found a group that played hard and shared the ball and did all the things to get to work our

Way back into the game but in key situations we got to be more disciplined there and you know the pass to Jeff in the corner for the open three that got tipped um you know giving up offensive rebound late Dylan fouling you know down four with a minute plus left and giving

Them free free throw so um those situations got just have to be better especially in the game when we’re not playing our best overall for you know what whether it’s two or three quarters you’ve talked in the past about how your actually really high on N Williams you

Just have you know dep how nice was it for him to get some real time tonight yeah it was good he gave us a nice spark um like I said it’s a weird situation where you know we have a a ton of guards obviously with some guys being injured

Now he gets more of an opportunity but um it’s like we already know what we have as far as that and he’s been really good in every situation he’s played so um came in aggressive um gave us a nice boost and was very efficient getting to

The basket and doing the things he does well so um happy for his progress and him going forward in the future um it was good to see him out there in some live action tonight just going back to Jane maybe booking to drive and kick more and things like that how does it

Happen talk with him overnight right there last night how did the message get there I that’s all the above we talked about obviously in the first half of the Toronto game all the turnovers we had and steals they had us playing in the crowd where we showed them prior to this

Game you know we aren’t shooting the best from three as a team and teams are going to pack the paint and we have to make the easy reads and so um those are the simple ones where you see Crow and just get off the ball he hit Aaron he

Hit Jeff hit some guys for some threes then the next is the rim Reeds with the bigs coming across and find your drop drop offs or kickouts from there as well so I think uh we showed quite a bit yesterday and pregame today how Atlanta’s going to defend and um like I

Said um you know guys going into their second third year and 50 games into it got to see that growth and he showed that tonight thank you

Ime Udoka talks to reporters after the Houston Rockets lost to the Atlanta Hawks on 2/10/2024. Jalen Green posted his first career triple-double with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, but in a losing effort. This came a game after Green and Alperen Sengun were benched in the fourth quarter of a game in Toronto. Sengun did not play in Atlanta due to a back injury.

  1. Horrible organization not signing or trading for anyone when we are having issues with injuries we can’t win with jock landale being our main center (if alp is injured) and no backup pg

  2. I don't expect the Rockets to win another Road game for the rest of the season. Pretty much only going to watch Home games from now on.

  3. Ime your team is a shit show. There should have been a big trade made at the deadline. Now the team has no direction. No one knows their role. You have several guys just vying for playing time who deserve better. It seems like Dillon Brooks is using his time in Houston to see if he can be “the guy” and he clearly can’t. No playoffs this year again. What a mess. Too bad.
