Miles Bridges trade to the Phoenix Suns is wrong for so many reasons

Miles Bridges trade to the Phoenix Suns is wrong for so many reasons

Hey everybody I’m espo I got something I want to talk to you about with the NBA trade deadline fast approaching there’s been one name and one name only on the minds of Phoenix Suns fans and many of people around the NBA that name is Miles Bridges the wing from the Charlotte

Hornets basketball-wise he’s a guy averaging 20 points a game seven rebounds a guy that looks like he could help a team win a championship but basketball is isn’t the only thing to consider when making a move and off the court actions have been a huge part of the miles Bridge’s story

Over the last few years he pleaded no contest to domestic violence charges and now faces another allegation which he has to go to court later this month to address let me be very clear off the top here I find miles Bridge’s actions completely abhorent there is nothing no ifs no ends no butts

About what happened it is very clear what he did and nobody should accept that violence against women should always be the line where you draw where you’re not willing to accept it and I say this because I’ve seen the effects of it my wife and a previous relationship had an

Abusive significant other and did horrible things to her and I’ve seen The Echoes of that for decades that is something that we should never accept in any Walk of Life let alone Sports female Suns fans I hear you and I see you I understand why this is such a triggering instance and possibility

I’m against the move for that and other reasons one being I sat here for years pounding the table that Robert Sarver and his morale weren’t good enough to be the owner of the Phoenix Suns or make him a major representative of the city and the state that we call

Home if I changed my mind now and got excited about the miles Bridges deal and welcomed him in what does that say about me or anybody else that took the Sarver stands it says one thing in one thing only that Robert sarver’s actions were fine if he had been helping this team

Win a championship but because he wasn’t that’s why he had to go and that Miles bridge is coming in is okay as long as he brings Larry O’Brien with him that’s not acceptable this is a proud franchise that has looked at it self as a pillar

Of this community for years this is an organization over the last 18 years prior to Matt isia’s arrival that allowed female employees to be treated in a way that no institution should so what messages it’s sending to then bring in a guy like miles Bridges it’s not a good one I’ll tell

You that much beyond that look I believe in second chances I really do but those Second Chances have to be earned they’re not given you don’t just get a second chance because you’ve decided you want to move on from an incident you have to prove that you

Are taking the steps to be a better person you’ve got to prove that this wasn’t a pattern of actions but something that happened that was against your character and not something that defines you my miles Bridges is yet to do that Miles Bridges as I mentioned earlier is facing another court

Appearance for violating the terms of his previous agreement he’s accused of throwing pool balls at a car that his ex and his children were in does that seem like the actions of a man who understands what he did wrong and is contrite about it that wants to make better that wants to do

Better you don’t get a second chance until you prove you deserve a second chance until then you’re just showing the pattern of action that you originally committed I’ll say this just like when Sarver was here I’m not going to stop rooting for the Suns and I’m not going to stop covering the

Suns but I won’t do it with the joy and the excitement that I did before because this is not right if miles Bridges and I hope he does comes here and earns a second chance proves that he wants to be a active and good participant with the franchise and the community of

Phoenix maybe you can start talking Second Chances but any kind of storyline that pushes a second chance or the idea of a second chance is ridiculous until he proves he wants it I won’t judge you on what you decide to do that’s between you and a lot of other

People not between you and I and Miles Bridges is GNA be judged by a lot more important people than me throughout his life because what he did but I’m not going to be happy if he winds up here in the valley and I’ll be interested to see how everybody else

Feels I’ll talk to you next time on the phnx sun show

  1. You are 100 % wrong on this Dude..Get off your hight horse…Would you have taken Kobe back when he flirted with the Suns???? HELL YES YOU would have…
    KJ?
Don't see you Bitc@ing about Britney Griner when she had her DV issues..
You projecting your MORALES onto the Suns…Plus your a hypocrite you would have jumped at the chance for KOBIE.
DV between couples can get ugly you never know who is telling the truth who is at fault..

Suns need to get Bridges ASAP.. Quite Crying Espo….

  2. Honestly espo really irritates me. Does he really think we give a damn? He’s a young dude who messed up. Yall act like yall don’t mentally abuse ya wives when yall go home. Espo talking like he the damn GM…trade for MB TODAY!!!!

  3. Common people let's stop with the criticism on miles bridges already. His own wife has come to his defense on the toxic attacks over him. If his wife can forgive him then the public has no excuses to keep holding a grudge. You also have to understand that by destroying miles, you are also destroying his family. y'all don't know the couple and you also don't know what ignited the fight. Y'all would rather be a terrible team for another decade than give someone a chance at redemption. And it will still be you fans that will either demand the coach be fired or players traded when the suns can't win a single game. Let's be real, if the suns win a ring right now everyone that is rejecting this guy will act like they never said a word. God didn't make anyone judge, jury and executioner over the matter. Karma is a real universal principle. Everyone that thinks they are perfect, you will be shocked when it happens to you 10x worst. Learn to forgive, stop with the hate and lets build each other up.

  4. This was really refreshing to hear. So tired of everyone dancing around this and wanting to give this guy a second chance not because he deserves one but to absolve OUR guilty conscience

    Salute to you

  5. Expo makes a valid point. but what about the person, the man Miles Bridges, the father Mikes Bridges? the future Mikes Bridges? Phoenix tossed away Walter Davis for drug addiction, Jason Kidd for spousal abuse. in different environments both men rehabilitated themselves and turned their lives around. how can Bridges prove it to you? he can’t in the time allowed. his family, his children are forever, they are the most important jury for Miles Bridges. not a sports team or a sports town. we want to believe that the Phoenix Suns now under new ownership have turned a page becoming a kinder and gentler championship version of what an NBA team can be. but let’s not be PollyAnnas or hypocrites either, this is the NBA and most players are not graduates of Sister Mary and the Children of the Poor University of Life. if the Suns decide to invest in Miles Bridges it has to be in the whole person, not just player’s stats and a short term run for the championship. put firm expectations including a strictly supervised rehab program to help the man, not just the player and the team. he has done what he has done. help the man, or throw the man away. that’s the choice.

  6. Remember this video ladies and gentlemen when the Clippers or Nuggets kick our azz in the playoffs and Espo goes bananas on the team

  7. At the end of the day, it’s allegations, and he has been dealing with and punished for the allegations, that’s not our business, we need help with just the big 3, he’s a good player if we can get him and buyout a back up point like Kyle Lowry, we are better ! So grow up and let it be basketball, this happen years ago and has been punished he had to miss a year and he can get the 200 million contract now.

  8. Oh right i didnt realise Miles Bridges was being (hired) to take over Gallego’s job! Unacceptable!! someone tampered with the (votes)!!.. yeah ur right bad example indeed i mean how careless of a dribbler and basket maker can one be, and what horrible example to set by having an ongoing case that has not had a veridict yeah i agree completely and as a new fan i know see why phoenix has never won one….

  9. The difficult things with these kinds of arguments is there is almost no line we can draw without being a hypocrite. The best you can do is donate or volunteer to guide young men and assist women in bad situations. The NBA and Suns will do whatever they do.

  10. There are a lot of comments about this take being selected outrage. You are all missing a crucial point. Miles Bridges is CURRENTLY being investigated for multiple abusive actions. There is no indication that he has since grown as a person and is ready to make serious changes. The best predictor or future behavior is past behavior and the more recent that behavior the truer that is. Anyone can have a bad moment and that doesn’t make them a bad person, but he is still in the middle of that bad moment. He might be in jail next month. Can we at least wait until the off court issues are considered “a checkered past” and not welcome him in while his issues are still making news as current events?

  11. Love the show and Gerald and Espo but this take is just so bad. What's the alternative? He gets kicked out of the NBA? Then what? He becomes even more angry and nothing has changed and he goes on to repeat the same behavior at a lower level without media attention? May as well try to actually help the guy and hopefully maybe have him see his wrongs and make them right.

  12. Yeah let’s pass on the opportunity to acquire an all-star type of talent (that would cost a bag of peanuts!) all because he made a mistake and we should hold ourselves to higher moral standard
    😂
Get real dude, this is about winning , not about having clean PR

  13. ESPO YOU ARE A HYPOCRITE CAUSE YOU WAS THE SAME PERSON THAT KEPT SAYING COME HOME BRITTNEY AND BRITTNEY HAS A HISTORY OF BEATING WOMEN HERSELF

  14. ESPO WAS READING FROM A SCRIPT DID ANYBODY NOTICE HOW SLOW AND THE PAUSING SLOWLY IN BETWEEN SMH PLEASE STOP CAPPING PHNX BUT FOR BRITTNEY WHO BEAT HER WOMAN LIKE SHE WAS A UFC FIGHTER THAT WAS OK COME HOME BRITTNEY WE MISS YOU STOP IT STICK TO TALKING ABOUT THE GAMES

  15. I really don't care about him off the court. If he can help the suns, then they should definitely make a move for him. Stop with the politics please

  16. It says you believe people need chances. It’s despicable yes but if no one got a chance then none of us would be anywhere.

  17. I dont know the details of the situation but he seems to have admitted to it and regret it and he's moved on so should you buddy. This little fake outrage for views and brownie points is not it bro

  18. Honestly, there is NO point in this podcast. I get highlights off of ESPN, news during Suns game, watching post game interviews from players, coaches and etc…. I see NO point of this podcast existing.

  19. I’m sorry but this bs needs to stop. I’m not even a suns fan and I know if y’all want a better chance at a championship this your guy. Did he make mistakes, absolutely but guess what so does everyone else. We are all human and all make mistakes. This dude has been balling out all season and it’s not being talked about enough. Phoenix is the best place for him and it allows him to be around good, kind hearted veteran leaders who can help him get better both on and off the court. Miles is the guy the Suns need.
