THE INDIANA PACERS NEED TO GET SERIOUS…

Hey guys what is up it is the fast break report here bringing you guys another Vlog so uh I want to talk about the Pacers uh and go over a little bit more of everything with the team uh this video is going to be painted more of

With a broad stroke brush rather than just uh singling out any one person or any of that actually I can’t say that because I I am going to give some some criticism to a player that I never really talk about but um I’m not going

To go too hard it’s just um things we’re in a very interesting point right now with the Indiana Pacers um they lost the Charlotte Hornets last night and a lot of people were like you know this is not a team we should be losing to and I would agree um you know

It it’s it feels like same old Pacers like I’m just gonna I’m just GNA call it what it is like it feels like same old Pacers um because we have been that team that can beat all the good teams but can’t beat the bad teams um this

Has been a thing since Nate McMillan was our head coach um and I’m starting to think it’s I I don’t know what it is I don’t know if it’s Miles Turner I don’t know if it’s the front office I don’t know if it’s the culture or what but for

Whatever reason against Bad teams we seem to just take our foot off the gas I I don’t understand why um but after the game last night a lot of people were were kind of pissed and understandably so um we just traded for Pascal SE yakum

Um we shot like in this game um you know and really I’m going to call it what it is Charlotte is a good defensive team I I’m not acting like charlot’s a like a horrible basketball team I I honestly think they’re better than their record actually reflects um you know

Lamela ball hasn’t played a lot for them Mark Williams has been injured um Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges look like they’re the the duo of the future for this team even though for whatever reason Charlotte keeps trying to trade miles Bridges um I understand why they’re trying to trade him but he’s

Such a good player that I’m just like I I don’t know why you would try to get rid of him like just suck it the up keep him on the team because if they get rid of him they’re going to regret it but that’s not why we’re here

Um last night after the game after they lost to the charlot Hornets uh Tony East I’m sure all of you know who Tony East is um he runs a Pacers podcast I think he I think he runs locked on Pacers I I could be wrong but um he he put out a

Tweet saying five NBA teams Detroit Charlotte Portland Washington and San Antonio have a win have a win percentage below 30% this season the Pacers lead the NBA in losses against that group with five I believe we lost to Charlotte twice Portland twice um actually Charlotte twice Portland once Washington

Once and I think Detroit once um I could be wrong about that don’t quote me um it says five teams that have four losses to that group or four of them have crummy teams themselves the Blazers Hornet SPS also okay so this is just saying that other teams um have

Losses against them as well but we lead the NBA in losses against that specific group with five and uh even though I don’t agree very much with uh young Messiah or young Simba or whatever his name is just just because we have completely different views on Miles

Turner um he thinks Miles Turner is great I think Miles Turner is just incredibly mid that that’s my my opinion on Miles Turner um but he put out like a thre minute rant last night that you know even though I may disagree with him about Miles Turner it it was absolutely the

Like it was he hit the nail on the head like I’m just going to call it what it is he hit the nail on the head now I want to thank the guys in the Discord chat uh or Discord server for uh putting all this stuff in there because I I

Wasn’t going to go look it up I don’t spend a lot of time on Twitter looking at those things unfortunately for Twitter all I ever see is politics um but he did put out a rant saying that like you know if we win four of those five games we’re the two seed

In the East and I it’s it’s wild because it’s true you know New York plays well against Bad teams he he highlighted the idea that the Pacers play well play solid against good teams I think we’re 16 and 15 against teams above 500 but against teams below 500

We’re like 16 and I think we’re like 16 and five or or some like that like we simply just don’t play well against Bad teams and we we like we take our foot off the gas we um we like all the teams in the East like

Orlando um New York uh you know even Cleveland Cleveland doesn’t play well against good teams but they they beat the piss out of all the bad teams and that’s what separates us from everybody else it’s been what separates us from everybody else for the past five

Six seven years now okay it’s just the idea that we play okay against the good teams but we can’t beat the bad teams and I I haven’t been getting on Ben mathine really at all but Ben Ben mathan’s last games have been terrible and as a a Pacers fan I don’t

Want to like get into Ben mathin too much like I’m not going to get in his ass too much because he’s a seconde player and generally rookies don’t play well their second year they just don’t um I’m not sure why but you know Chris Duarte went through a second-year slump

Uh Scotty Barnes went through a second-year slump um Jabari Smith had a shitty rookie year and has is having a good second year but usually you don’t know who rookies are most rookies you don’t know who they are until year three um you know and during year three is

When you see what you got essentially like is this guy going to pan out is he going to be the guy we think he is or is he going to be a bust and with Ben mathine right now I would say Ben mathine is is on the hot seat I mean we

We traded buddy heel to free up minutes for him and you know get him get him more minutes get him get the ball in his hands more often um it’s just the idea Ben mathan’s a knucklehead okay like I think we can all acknowledge that like Ben mathine is hard-headed he’s a great

He’s a fierce competitor I like that about him but he does sometimes a lot of really like boneheaded and you know like he’ll go to the basket and try to score on three guys or he’ll take a contested jumper rather than pass it to the open man in the corner for the open

Three like there was a game last week where I was watching them play and and the whole team moves the ball and the ball stops at Ben Maan for whatever reason the ball always stops at Ben Maan and while I understand like he’s trying he’s trying to be that guy that we need

And I know he’s he’s dedicated to doing that but sometimes right and I understand rookies seconde players maybe not the most you know aware offensive players or defensive players but Ben mathine needs to understand that you don’t need to shoot the ball every time you touch it you know what I’m

Saying like Ben mathine is a good player I think he has the potential to be really good um but I I it it’s coming off as if he’s in Rick’s dogghouse again and the reason I say that is because he only played 14 minutes last night he

Shot 0 of four and you know at some point right like I I watch the Pacers games and I watch Ben Maan play and it’s like he gets removed from games and I understand why you know like there are times where it’s like I’ll watch him and

I’m like dude you got a guy open why are you taking that jumper why are you for like he forces his offense and I I get that he’s trying to um you know develop and be you know be the guy we need him to be but Ben mathan’s a guy that really

Needs to let the offense come to him you know he’s a guy that you know isn’t the greatest Defender um he’s not the greatest at creating shots off the dribble honestly he he he reminds me of a guy who’s like capable of shooting threes he’s capable of finishing but his

Decision making is you know lackluster at times and I I I really don’t want to like get on him too much because Andrew nard has the same problem I’m going to call it what it is like Andrew nard has the same problem Andrew neard when he had to start for Tyrese halberton there

Are times when we’re closing games and Andrew nard is going to the basket on three people I’m like dude like Andrew nard is is a is a solid player like we saw in his rookie year he’s going through the same Ben mathine is he’s going through a sophomore slump

But like I I watch Andrew nard play and I’m like bro like you’re not that guy like if you’re on the floor with seak if you’re on the floor with um even uh who else was uh uh Aaron n Smith you know if you’re on the floor

With these guys Jaylen Smith right if you’re on the floor with them like let them do it you know what I’m saying like like especially if you’re on the floor with seak I’m sorry there’s there’s zero reason why to close out games our rookies should be the ones out there you

Know trying to seal the deal when we got Pascal yakum out there okay he’s a Max contract player there’s zero reason why closing out these games unless Pascal SE yakum is injured like the the the order of closing out games should be Tyrese seak and Ben mathan okay like those are

The three guys that I trust the most there’s zero reason Andrew nard should be going to the basket on three guys and then like every time down the floor doing it again there’s there’s zero reason Andrew nard should be closing out games and like trying to

Play herob ball but it’s just the idea I get it it it’s a team game and I understand we still like we still have a little time people getting used to things we just traded for Doug McDermot um you know we we Pascal seaks only played what like eight or I only a

Handful of games for the Pacer so far since we traded for him um the fit has been a little bit better than I expected it to be but they’re still figuring things out you know Tyrese halberton said it the other day that you know they’re still figuring out their end of

Game sets and and and you know clo you know all this other that’s still going on with the team um but I would agree like two things that are going to be self-evident towards the end of this season are beating bad teams is going to determine where we are in the playoffs

And you know like like uh young Simba or Messiah or whatever the his name is uh said in his rant okay this team needs to beat bad teams and if they win just four of those five games that they lost we’re we’re the number two seed in the

East so this team not winning against Bad teams is hurting its playoffs seeding I think it’s hurting our chances to even be in the playoffs you know like like right now you’ve got the 76ers who don’t have jool and beid anymore right like the the Chicago Bulls

Are a mess okay the the the Brooklyn Nets are another team that we we should probably be beating now that I mean they got rid of Spencer Den Wy they got rid of Royce O’Neal they’re not exactly a team that got better you know like there are certain

Teams that we should be beating and if we’re not able to beat them we’re we’re we’re we’re looking at maybe potentially a first round exit and I know we don’t want that I know I don’t want that but you know like I said like young Simba or whatever his name is said

It correctly you know if we win four of those five games that we lost to those below 30 win like those 30 win percentage teams if we win just four of those five games this is a 50 win team so it’s just the idea like this team has

The ability to be very good I still think we need some more pieces the bench played like last night they played uncharacteristically usually our bench is the best in the league the idea that you know against the Hornets last night we couldn’t get it done I get it those

Nights happen but it’s just the idea you can’t have those nights against teams like Charlotte you you just can’t you can’t we got Toronto and then Detroit left until the allstar break we cannot lose those games okay especially against Detroit okay Detroit got worse Detroit lost bogdanovich and Alec Burks they

Took on Evan forier uh Quinton Grimes okay and a bunch of guys and draft picks like guys that are probably never going to really see the floor right we have to beat Toronto and Detroit the next two games going into the All-Star break we have to go into the allstar break with

Some momentum okay and you know the idea that we keep dropping games to bad teams and Toronto is not going to be an easy out okay Toronto is a solid team Detroit is a team that we should be beating every time okay like they’re a team that that that up

More things than they get right so there’s I’m just saying man like the we we simply cannot drop those two games you know like teams that are are projected to be tanking teams that have you know below 50% win percentages those are not teams we should be losing

To or at least not most of them anyway Toronto is going to be a little harder than Detroit but it’s just the idea these next two games we need to win and the more the season goes on I would argue the more the season goes on the

More Ben mathine is going to be on the hot seat as much as I hate to say that like I I really have a feeling they’re only going to put up with one more season of Ben mathine playing like this like yeah his rookie year was good his

Second year has been average painfully average um but if if Ben mathine doesn’t develop a whole lot in this second half of the season now that we got rid of Buddy heeld okay if Ben mathine doesn’t make some significant strides and you know even next season if he doesn’t

Start the season off hot and shows us that he’s improved he could find himself being traded and I I I I really don’t want that because I think he’s a good player but you know this team is in win now mode you know you either get right or

You get left and you know it’s looking right now like the Pacers could like sign Ben ma to an extension and then try to trade him for somebody so I don’t know man we’ll have to wait and see but next year okay Ben mathine becomes extension eligible and I I just I really

Really don’t want to see us get rid of Ben mathine because Ben mathine hasn’t really matured as a player and I think that’s what it is mostly I think it’s the idea that he hasn’t matured as a player um I understand like at Arizona

He was like the guy but this is the NBA and you know you you once you get into the NBA when you’re playing with people that are on that level you kind of got to let your offense come to you for a while um and then once you start getting

Better at things once you start being able to create cuz he’s really not the greatest ball handler in the world either um there’s a lot of stuff that needs to be polished but if he can do that in the off season and through training camp and like he’s really going

To have to work his ass off this off season um but I I don’t want to count him out I I don’t want to write him off because Scotty Barnes didn’t have a good sophomore year he had a a good a damn good rookie year second year was not

That good and now his third year he’s he’s an All-Star Reserve I think Scotty Barnes is in the All-Star he’s one of the All-Star reserves this year so you know Ben mathon could be an Allstar by year three if he just shs up some of the

Things in his game that are not polished and by then at that point if Ben Maan does make those changes we could be a serious threat in the East with with or without Paul George okay like people love to piss at my Cheerios about Paul George but I’m just I’m excited I’m I

Was a huge Paul George fan but there’s there’s a lot going on here that that needs to be fixed um and it’s very obvious at the current point in time like the idea that mathine only got 14 minutes last night tells me that Rick is tired of his like I’m just going to

Call it what it is like the idea that Ben only got 14 minutes last night again Charlotte tells me that Rick is tired of Ben playing selfish ball um and every time Rick talks about selfish basketball I I think he’s talking about Ben mathan

Like I I I think he I I like I assume he’s talking about Ben Maan because Ben Maan is the one guy on the team where every time he touches the ball it seems like it’s go time and it doesn’t need to be go time okay

Sometimes you need to pass the ball to someone else unless someone else do the dirty work but it’s you know it’s it’s admirable that you know uh Ben mathan’s at least trying to improve he’s he’s trying to show us that like he can be that guy because he knows he can be that

Guy and I appreciate that a lot as a Pacers fan but you know he’s not there yet you know what I’m saying and and so long as he’s not there yet I don’t think he should force it so tell me what you guys think about this down below in the

Comment section below like helps me out subscribe if you guys want to see more I’m the fast break report and I’m out of this peace guys

So the Indiana Pacers lost to the Charlotte Hornets again last night 111-102. The Indiana Pacers have now lost 5 games against teams that have a win percentage if 30% or below and if this team is to be a serious playoff team they can’t be losing games to teams in the bottom 5 of the NBA.

  1. Couldn’t agree more Mathurin and nembhard are low IQ players both have talent it just aggravates the shit out of me. Plus I’ve never seen a player get to their spot more than nembhard on his step back mid range and miss it as consistently as he does wide open 😂😂.

  2. We have to more bad teams in Raptors and Detroit to come hopefully we can step it up against bad teams. I hope this loss teaches us we need to lock in and focus against bad team for the whole 48 mins.

  3. hornets are better than their record and this trade really helped their depth on the hornets — micic and mann are perfect and grant is better for us than mid range pj — styles make fights and the hornets have a good fight against the pacers

  4. 100% agree on Mathurin…in addition, he has been complete garbage since the game off for the stomach bug or whatever. My biggest complaint on this team is the horrendous interior defense. We all but pave a lane to the basket for our opponents. There is no way we can be this bad at defense with these players. I put this squarely on the coaching or scheme. It's so frustrating!

  5. You're preaching to the choir on Mathurin. This is same shit Rick's been telling him ever since he got here. He's not gotten it and all the yelling and benching wont help. He's a lost cause, no bullshit.

  6. I think in this instance we're looking too deep into things. Sometimes the better team loses. Right now the pacers are in a rough patch, they aren't the same exact team they were at the start of the season. They've gotten rid of 2 starting SGs, Brown and Hield. And they've still only just acquired Siakam. Theres a lot of changes going on with this team/offense. When it comes to Mathurin, he's definitely having a bad week or 2, but hes still VERY YOUNG and can continue to grow. I imagine it hasn't been easy with Coach jerking him around and not trusting him. Nehmbard had 2 games (AS A STARTER, LAST WEEK) In a row where he scored 0 points and no one said a word. Mathurin does it, and people seem to want him gone. It doesn't help that he was drafted and told he's part of the future, but no matter how well he does most of the time, Coach has ZERO INTENTIONS of starting Mathurin and allowing him to grow chemistry, real time experience with the starting unit. At this rate every time he's given a chance to start, he's gonna be put on the bench again for another 5 months because he made a couple mistakes. Meanwhile hield can suck all he wants and get handed a starting role. Coach is so biased it's fucked up

  7. Results matter. We haven't been good since the Pascal trade. I don't see how this upgraded the team.

  8. Pacers need to step up every game not just big games I'm upset with this team I have high hopes for them they let me down with play like this. It's so frustrating I wanna watch them but when they let me down like that it makes me second guess them

  9. Why do none of you ever blame the damn coach—if it were anyone but Nosferatu Carlisle you’d want him run out of town!
