Ayo Dosunmu Makes Trae Young His Son; Bulls Get Big Win in Atlanta

Ayo Dosunmu Makes Trae Young His Son; Bulls Get Big Win in Atlanta

A much much needed win for the Chicago Bulls against the Atlanta Hawks a team that was just one game behind them in the standings the Hawks have been playing better as of late and it’s also a matchup that always seems to go to the wire every time they play in Atlanta but

Luckily for the Bulls they’ve got IOD dumu who seemingly always turns into Prime Jimmy Butler whenever he faces off against the Hawks Jimmy Butler with an even better three-point shot on might add because man what a performance yet again by I dumu on both ends of the

Floor you know it’s been well documented I know a lot of people were throwing out some stats as it relates to how poorly Trey young shoots when he’s being guarded by IO and I know IO didn’t guard Trey on every possession but Trey young yet again another terrible shooting

Night and going against the Bulls three for 14 from the field two for 10 from the three-point line and some of those were just horrible shots I’ve said before but that guy’s shot selection is so bad that it’s shocking to me that the coach still gives him the green light to

Take some of those deep threes I get why he’s been taking so many of them against the Bulls because he has no chance in trying to drive to the basket against IO or Caruso in other games obviously Caruso didn’t play tonight but o That’s shooting your team out of these games

But the defensive effort aside iow was on fire tonight on offense in the last game against the magic iow hit five threes which was a career high for him and the number of Threes made in a game he did that as well again tonight going five for seven from downtown 12 for 18

Overall 29 Points a career high in addition to seven assists a team High of plus 13 when he was on the court I mean for me what was more impressive from IO was some of his finishes at The Rim those reverse layups and traffic falling

Away I mean the growth he has shown this season in his overall scoring prowess and versatility not only in improving his shot from deep but his ball handling and ability to get downhill and navigate through traffic has been such a big positive for the Bulls in an otherwise somewhat underwhelming season again a

Guy who was thought might not even get resigned in the off season now has one of the best bargain contracts in the NBA this game was interesting though well I shouldn’t really say interesting because it was more status quo relief for the Bulls they started out slow didn’t look

Engaged fell behind early not drastically but I believe they fell behind by as many as 13 and then just like in the game against the Orlando Magic they somehow found some life and exploded right before Hal time to actually take the lead when they were down double digits with less than 2

Minutes to go completely turning momentum around and they came out strong focused High defensive effort in the third quarter like even when the Hawks went on a little bit of a run the Bulls responded right back on their own capitalizing on poor defense from the Atlanta Hawks being efficient and

Purposeful on their possessions they got a little sloppy at the end where they almost let the Hawks kind of make a comeback after the Bulls blew up the lead to 12 with less than 2 minutes to go but luckily they kept their heads down into the game and closed out a very

Efficient night on offense for the Bulls first of all this was a season high for them as they had 136 points in total you had four players with 20 plus points they shot a phenomenal 55% from the field because they focused on getting the ball inside and scoring in the paint

Rather than hoisting up a bunch of Threes that’s what made them so efficient in this game although they did shoot it well 13 for 28 from Deep at 46% 29 assists ball movement was good more so in the second half I was actually getting pretty frustrated and

Complaining about it on Twitter of the Bull’s inability or maybe I should say unwillingness to push the pace and move the ball quickly in transition off turnovers like they just didn’t want to move the ball quickly when the Hawks weren’t getting back on defense and just slowly bringing it up which is just

Maddening to me in NBA basketball in 2024 boggles my mind but the Bulls changed that a bit in the second half you saw Billy Donovan directing the guys to move quickly after rebound because this is one of the worst teams in the league on defense 28th in the league on

Defensive rating this is a team where it makes zero sense to play slow and mainly operate in the half court but you saw a change in the overall Pace the focus on points and the paint Bulls won the battle in the paint 68 to 56 vuich great

Game for him with no Clint capella in the lineup 8 for 16 from the floor 24 points 11 rebounds got to the line a lot in this one and was 7even for n from the line Kobe white still struggling a little bit with his shooting like we saw

In the last game but as I’ve said before I really do think that’s just the accumulation of minutes catching up with him keep in mind he’s played in every game this season only him and Andre Drummond have played in every game so far for the Bulls and obviously Drummond

Isn’t putting in the kind of minutes Kobe white is but what I did like seeing was Kobe coming alive in the fourth quarter which we’ve been seeing more recently even when he gets off to a quiet start he comes alive in the fourth and scored the bulk of his buckets in

The fourth quarter including that big three that was more or less the dagger which put them up 12 with less than 2 minutes to go finished the game with 20 points seven assists four rebounds and then of course Demar D rozan was the other Bulls player with 20 plus points

Was efficient 10 for 17 from the floor 9 for 11 from the line 29 Points three rebounds and five assists uh Tory Craig in the starting lineup tonight with Alex kuso out was actually huge with his tenacious defense and the energy he brought to the court doing a little bit

Of everything hitting threes rebounding passing deflections getting in passing lanes and then how about the Bulls bench tonight Javon Carter a DMP in Orlando he mentioned to the media before the game that he’s been surprised of his role on this team so far this season give him

Credit he stays ready he’s kind of been in and out of the rotation but tonight with no Alex kuso knew he was going to be getting minutes and made the most of it 25 minutes was effective on offense 4 for8 three for six from three with Kobe

KH struggling from Deep you needed some of those extra three-pointers 11 points and a plus n when he was on the floor and then dalen Terry put it in reverse Terry had some nice plays at the basket hit a three as well seven points four rebounds you know one thing I actually

Really love about D Terry is he loves to push it he loves getting the ball out quickly after rebound he doesn’t have the ability always to create on some of those transition plays when he’s taking it in himself but he gets the guys moving and that’s what I want to see and

Then Andre Drummond solid game seven Points 11 rebounds I mean really all around a great game for the Bulls a competitive game I know that’s a triggering word for Bulls fans but it was a competitive game that said the Bulls are going to need to take it up

Even further for their final game before the All-Star break against one of the hottest teams in the NBA the Cleveland Cavaliers can’t come out slow can’t come out looking disinterested and think you could just pick things back up in the second half you could very well find

Yourselves in a massive deficit by half time if you start out the game like we saw tonight I don’t need to see another game where the Bulls go down 30 crawl their way back into this one all but to lose in a close effort but either way

It’s going to be a much needed break coming up here for the All-Star break especially for Demar and Kobe who still lead the league in minutes played Bulls still chasing that elusive 500 record crazy how we’re still here but they create more separation in the standings

Between them and the Hawks Bulls are now only 2 and a half games behind the Miami Heat for eighth with them falling a bit in the standings got to keep winning though and the Bulls have a lot of tough opponents coming up also side note in

Case you missed it I had Casey Johnson on the channel earlier for an interview today as we discuss some of the behind the scenes of the Bulls trade deadline and potential buyout candidates check that out in case you missed it as always guys be sure to subscribe and I will see

You in the next one

Reacting and recapping the Bulls win over the Hawks with a dominant performance from Ayo Dosunmu

  1. Admittedly I didn't watch tonight's game but it seems like Ayo probably should've had more than 1 free-throw tonight. That man gets no love from the refs and he deserves it more than most IMO. I've never seen him say a negative word to a ref and that's something can't be said about anyone I've ever watched. Unfortunately that's probably why he doesn't get any calls because the loudest voices always get heard the loudest.

  2. Ayo might be the best finisher at the rim on this roster, including Lavine (who has dropped off significantly since that last knee injury). I kinda rolled my eyes when AK re-signed Ayo over the summer. His game has gotten much more refined this year, and he plays to his strengths

  3. I've been quiet in the comments, but I'm still here, my brother. Exceptional interview earlier today, and another great vid here tonight. Just imagine, if the Bulls actually had enough size and shooting to match the defense and a deep enough rotation to constantly push the pace and pound the ball inside. These wins would be so much easier for them to attain. THEN, we'd have a Truly "competitive" squad. Lol

  4. Good victory. Very strong Ayo. But the next 2 games are difficult…against the number 1 and 2 in the east. Cleveland and Boston ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Ayo Game ๐Ÿ€

    Ayo—Fg 50%—3Pt 41%—Rb 2.5—Ast 2.3—Pts 10.0
    PW—-Fg 44%—3Pt 40%—Rb 4.0—Ast 1.5—Pts 10.0
It appears Ayo has taken the lead ๐Ÿค

  6. But I thought everyone wanted to blow it up? lol Iโ€™m here for this team and the players on it. Can we stop complaining about our teams players after EVERY loss. You (fans) all seem to like them when they win but immediately want a trade the second they come up short. Pick a side, Iโ€™d recommend supporting what we got here.

  7. Ayo had a good game but heโ€™s got a worse left hand then jaylen brown he wonโ€™t go left to save his life๐Ÿ˜ญ

  8. I a have said on here before when he was a rookie that if he does not change how he scores he will have a short career……..right now he is definitely more of diverse scorer and the biggest improvement is his 3 point shooting. The time for this team is to get the young players on the floor and improve and win.

  9. KCโ€™s postgame interview was embarassing. Trying to push coby away and acting foolish๐Ÿคฃ man needs to lighten up.. the guys were having fun

  10. Honestly Ayo is having a very underrated season. The last 10 games he's been great. If coby wasn't an MIP candidate we would be talking about it a lot more

  11. We should trade basically everyone except vooch coby white dosunmu and Patrick Williams if we give Ayo a bigger opportunity he can be a real dog with coby whte
