[The Athletic] The Lakers, per the high-ranking team source, are also willing to explore the notion of adding Bronny James next season. This stance, the source said, is rooted in the reality that James’ happiness truly matters to the organization.

Hopefully LeBron is willing to take a discount for his son.

  2. If Bronny is available in the second round, we’re absolutely taking him.

  3. AuspiciousOtter24

Yeah let’s add the kid who averages 5 ppg on 35% shooting for a 9-15 team. Would be such a joke

  4. StoneColdAM

Feels like this was obvious. LeBron wants to stay in LA, contend, and play with his son.

  5. If lebron wants to contend, he should opt out and sign on a vet minimum.

  6. Don’t care as long as Pelinka doesn’t get played like a fool by other GMs.

Bronny needs another year to develop in college

They’ll probably get him as a 2nd rounder if they want to. They might have to pay a couple million to move up in the draft like they did with Maxwell Lewis. But Bronny James jersey sales would make that back probably tenfold.

If Gianni’s brother is on the nba roster, I say why not Bronny.

  10. Does Bronny really want to come up to the NBA that way? Would it be better for him to do it by himself and not because of LeDad? Like what Steph did, worked his way up from Davidson? He is still young and can improve his game.

  11. They’ll do what they did with Austin Reaves, sign him off the draft.

No shit. Of course they will spend a pick on Bronny.

Kid is hella raw and definitely should stay in college to continue developing if we’re being honest.

This is great. I love to see LeBron blames his son for weak defense when he himself stands around.

  15. Depending on how Bronny’s season turns out, if he declares for the draft, & what the consensus is on his draft position the Lakers should absolutely try to acquire him…

Been following this franchise closely since ’85 & how this organization treats it’s great players & all it’s players in general *MATTERS*… just look at AD in the recent past letting it be known thru various channels he would not re-sign if boston traded for him etc…

The greatness of Magic, Kareem & The Showtime teams impacted the Lakers getting Shaq & Kobe which then impacted them getting Bron & AD & those guys will impact the future next great Lakers era… not to mention the secondary players like Dinwiddie just this week.

The Lakers have always truly brought their players into the family… Magic got a piece of the team, Jerry & Mitch in the FO, Kareem & Byron got coaching roles, countless guys doing radio & TV from Stu & MT to Big Game James, Horry, DFish, Metta…

This stuff matters in the long run, sure it’s not always going to be the primary factor & money talks but it does matter.

  16. Arguably the greatest player of all time brought us a ring. I absolutely don’t mind wasting a second round pick for him. Also who knows, Bronny might develop to an OK role player in a few years too

Lakers propaganda machine is revving today! If they truly wanted to make James happy, why is Darvin Hamas still not fired?

Lakers will move up for him if needed, Klutch won’t let Bronny end up anywhere but LA. Call it a true “Hollywood” ending for Brons end of career last dance series.

As a Bron fan I hope the non sense reports of him leaving go away.

Stay with AD who is an absolute unit and in his prime.

Try to get one more title with Reaves, Vando, Rui and the guys.

The Lakers could easily get bronny.

He could turn down the player option and do a 1+1 extension of 30 mil a year.

He will be 40 years old soon. Young stars are entering their prime and will dominate for years to come.

It’s ideal for lebron to give it a couple of more shots here and then sign off.

I never understood why they don’t just go the AR route. Tell teams if they draft Bronny he won’t sign so he can be an undrafted free agent. Then give him a 2-way so he can develop and they play together. Everyone’s happy unless Bronny thinks he’s legit right now.

  22. I really hope they don’t do this. No NBA team, much less the Lakers, should be giving away to anyone who isn’t deserving.

  23. noknownothing

    Confirmed: Jeannie’s a star-struck idiot.

  24. FailOk8045

Zero chance he gets drafted. We’d just sign him as an undrafted free agent.

  25. Ok_Concentrate_75

I like the idea of next season, Bronny needs atleast 2 years and atleast 1 as a primary Guard to really make it in the league.

Edit: in college I mean, for his development regardless if he’s a Laker.

  26. Top_Buy2467

Okay I hate to break it to yall but there’s just no way this happens. The Cavs will be picking around the end of the 1st, why would they not take him with their pick in an effort to entice James home?

  27. LennoxAve

Why not. Giannis got his brother playing alongside him.
