Brian Windhorst thinks the Warriors checked in on LeBron’s ‘INFORMATION VOID’ | Get Up

Huge news from Adrien wowski and Ramona shelburn the Golden State Warriors try to convince the Lakers to trade LeBron James on the eve of last week’s trade deadline the Warriors had a full deal ready to unveil to the Lakers which was encouraged by Draymond Green but neither the Lakers nor LeBron would entertain

The notion LeBron’s agent Rich Paul put an end to The Talk The Warriors could revisit this all again in the offseason LeBron is a $ 51.4 million player option for next season and Monica mcnut good enough to come racing into our studio with update and we’ve got Wendy with us

As well gets up early with us out in La where he’s busy doing NBA today all right Wendy fill in any blanks for us here because this obviously the notion that we may have been close to Steph and LeBron teaming up is extraordinary yeah I think there’s two different ways to

Look at this obviously if you’re a fan your initial reaction is going to be to to dream about the concept of LeBron and Steph playing together I don’t think that was ever close to happening but I think it does show that there was a lack of information there was a lack of

Information from these teams uh because WJ and Ramona also reported that the 76ers called the the warrior the Lakers about LeBron because just the way things have gone for the Lakers this season and the passive aggressive moves that LeBron has made left people wondering you know how does he actually feel about the

Lakers where is his head at about them going now and going forward and he gave an emphatic I’m committed here and you know Rich Paul went on the record publicly last week saying he’s not going to be traded and that’s why I think greeny the Lakers were probably okay

Going to LeBron and Rich Paul with this opportunity uh because they wanted to find out where LeBron was too because LeBron was you know putting up emoji tweets and you know refusing to talk about in the media and so what ended up happening is LeBron ends up recommitting

Himself to Lakers saying no no I don’t want to be traded I want to be here and then the Lakers don’t do anything at the deadline I think those two were related because they operated knowing that LeBron was solid now where LeBron might be in the summer when by the way

Philadelphia is going to have Max cap room that’s a different conversation but I actually think this was more about checking in on an uh on an information void than it was about a trade that actually could happen Monica uh I laughed when I saw this highlight this is hysterical it is fantastic it’s

Hysterical it is the thing that has made the NBA the Juggernaut and the entertainment source that it is it makes complete sense the two were just gushing over one another Saturday night on ABC not too long ago in terms of their ability to sustain this level of

Greatness at this point in their careers so throw everything at the wall if you’re the Warriors and I believe that either Ro or Ramona wrote the words trying to extend their window it makes sense there are not too many other places that I think actually have the

Caveat with that you might even take this seriously and obviously as Wendy just pointed out LeBron ultimately put it to rest but I love it why not yeah and and and LeBron and Draymond we saw them together at the Super Bowl it’s well known those guys are good friends

No one loves the Hoops more than our buddy Marcus spear so I wanted to keep swagu in this just imagine for a moment Marcus however close we actually were to the idea of LeBron James and Steph Curry the defining players of their generation teaming up the level of basketball IQ is what I

Thought about now look Wendy just talked about like what the reasoning and Monica talked about it and we’ve seen in the NBA obviously Superstars pair up obviously KD went to Golden State but my first initial thought was with Draymond Green Steph C and LeBron James on the floor that might be the smartest

Basketball team to ever be on the court at the same time when you start talking about their ability to figure out how to play with anybody and Steph running 700 miles a game and the pinpoint accuracy that Draymond already gets him the ball with but now you add LeBron to that who

Is Who Wants to be a facilitator so I I had all kind of dreams and butterflies and hearts going off it’s Valentine’s Day but I don’t want to see it in all reality I wouldn’t want to see it happen I would want to see it in in a league in

The summer I would love to see them play together uh but the basketball IQ would have been bananas absolutely Monica we see on the bottom of the screen for those who are just coming out out of the Super Bowl and maybe now just starting to to digest what’s going on in the NBA

We see the Lakers are currently nine and the Warriors are currently 10 are either of these teams are either of these Superstars legitimate contenders in the Western Conference this year as constituted I do not think so this year and and guys y’all help me we got to Define contenders right is our

Contenders going to be top four top five top six that could make it like to the conference final at least I I I don’t see Lakers did last year in fact greeny if I’m honest I kind of see these teams potentially colliding in the playin which would be fantastic for the ratings

Of a playin but obviously a little bit disappointing when you think about the longterm of a playoff run the te the younger teams I believe are coming the Clippers the Nuggets obviously are well established there has just not been enough consistency and I was witness to the last uh Warriors

Championship and the way that Steph has this incredible gravity five game win streak fantastic for the Warriors but foreign organizations whose standards are winning championships and competing for championships even this five-game win streak even if they beat the Clippers tonight I just don’t know that

That is the omen for the rest of the year so so what does it all mean Wendy like these are the two most popular franchises in the NBA and Steph and LeBron are overwhelmingly the two biggest stars where are both of them now and into the the short-term foreseeable

Future what it means greeny is that we’ve got two teams here that are big expensive and aging who are underachieving who didn’t have much they could do at the deadline and were flailing around trying to hit you know Grand slams it you know both of these teams are having very disappointing

Seasons although they are playing their best basketball over the last couple of weeks and I just think it is more interesting this summer when LeBron can be a free agent and the Warriors will have some flexibility I will just say LeBron has a $51 million player option

For the Lakers I do not see LeBron playing for less than $51 million or maybe a little bit if he renegotiates a little bit the idea that LeBron’s going to go play somewhere for a million bucks or two that’s not going to happen so when you go to the trade machine and try

To compute it and have fun with this which you should do that’s part of the great thing about being an NBA fan just just know that and also know LeBron wants to be and is a Laker and would prefer it stays that way and that’s what

Was verified by this trans you know this lack of uh there’s no Transaction

On Get Up, Brian Windhorst, Monica McNutt and Marcus “Swagu” Spears react to the Golden State Warriors’ unsuccessful bid to convince LeBron James and the Lakers of a trade at the NBA Trade Deadline.

  1. Windhorst is basically part of LeBron’s PR team and Ramona Shelburne is PR for the Lakers. This smells inauthentic to say the least.

  2. This is the oldest trick in the book for leveraging your current team. LBJ is mad that Rob Polenka didn't give up future first round picks for trades that would give "him" a better chance of adding another title to his legacy. So he gets Rich Paul to leak it that other teams are interested. This is meant to extort Rob Polenka into trading those first round picks this summer. LeBron makes everything about himself.

  3. lebron to the warriors would've wrecked the entire league, that's at least 2 more rings barring injury

  4. Greenberg is so bad and such a hack. This was never close. One team asking about the availability of another player means nothing.

  5. This is a plant. LeBron wasn’t getting enough attention in NBA media so he and Rich Paul got this story out there to get LeBron the media attention he craves.

  6. A championship with them on the same team doesn't hold any dam weight to me. None whatsoever. That's NBA narrative bullshhhh that the league would be salivating to promote. I get it, the Nuggets kicking a$$ doesn't interest anyone but let's not get silly. It's still ALL about money.

  7. Brian got that last part wrong, he wants to be a Laker but real Laker fans know he's not a real Laker after the disrespect he showed.

  8. It seems to me that these analysts are stuck about a month back in their stats and analyses. The Lakers have 27 more games to play. At least 3 teams ahead of them will falter and will be below them before the start of the playoffs.

  9. Lets tell the truth…. LeBron always said he wanted to go there, play with Curry…A brick was thrown, and LB, and his agent standing there with their hands behind their back….he wants OUT but doesn't want to look like its his doing it….

  10. Bron should have taken the trade. He is not going to get another ring with LA. He should have went to warriors, he would be the only player with a ring with 4 different teams.

  11. Lebron and now Draymond Green are the fall guys in the relationship. Curry is known to be pulling strings in the background.

  12. Warriors have nothing they could give outside of Curry that would land Lebron James. They been needing to shed Dray and Klay in a bad way. Dudes are both washed, and starting them takes reps and development away from young guys who could grow. The longer the warriors hold onto the Super Washed Brothers the more they waste Curry's talent.

  13. I can never listen to anyone who’s says Steph and bron don’t have a chance to make it deep into the players they have proved yall wrong every single time 😂😂😂

  14. The fact people were drooling over the fact of a lebron in his 21st season being traded to another team is a testament to his greatness lol. Like teams want him when guys are retired by year 15-16.

  15. the media is really pushing that everybody wants lebron in yr 22. the warriors catch fire and lebron let mix and match a story .keep lebron in media

  16. For a player yall bronsexuals and people in the sports media why guys Always lobbying for help for lechoke james isn't he a so call goat. If Leflop has what you guys call thee highest basketball iq then everyone why has he lost 6finals,swept 3times in the finals .

  17. I don’t think the warriors fully understand that Lebron is going to be 40 in December earning 50m a season

  18. Y dose any team want a guy that plays no defense doesn't even go to that end of the court half the time

  19. This would be the worst thing thr warriors could do. They're already the most over the salary cap in the entire leagure. Also why would you pay a 40 year old 51 million dollars to not play defense.
