Stephen A. Smith calls for people to stop “ignoring” Jayson Tatum in MVP race
I I love Stephen A and I love that take because winning matters this gets back to the argument that Joe moula is making about the All-Star game where you are right now forsberg why is Derek white and Chris STS porzingis why are those guys not included in the All-Star Game
Do we not care about winning to me this should be a real factor in the MVP discussion and if the Celtics continue to tear up the rest of the league the way that they have and if Jason Tatum continues to play at the level that he’s
Playing he should be the MVP he should be the front runner for this award right now in my opinion Christen it’s because he’s willing to do everything thing for him to handle the other night the way he did against the Nets where he could have ended up with 60 points if he really
Wanted to and instead became a playmaker and completely Chang his game in the second half just for fun seemingly like that speaks to his overall maturity level and his development as a as a well-rounded basketball player he’d be my number one choice right now I don’t get a lot of things right
But I feel like I was a little bit ahead on this I’ve been saying all week on our programming that the Tatum surge is coming right like it it gets to the point in the season where you can ignore it and be like well he has so many good
Teammates it’s hard to like give him all the credit but Phil you nailed it best player on the best team and the best team by like a large margin has to be considered here now it probably still slot him third right now I think joic has just been amazing SGA what he’s
Doing in Oklahoma City and getting them to where they are but it’s going to get a little dicey here because you got a lot of games coming up on Saturday night after for the All-Star break Jason Tatum goes down to New York’s Madison Square Garden against Jaylen Brunson can kind
Of show where he ranks among the players in the east then Luca donic comes here that Friday night at the Garden March 1st then the big one they go out to Denver and that’s where if Tatum has a big night in that game you’re going to see this whole narrative start to shift
And Jason Tatum will move into that conversation to be the potential MVP I was staggered that he was sixth in that straw pole earlier this week it’s time for The Surge to start happening people are slowly going to take notice of all the ways he’s impacting this game
Phil Perry and Chris Forsberg react to comments from Stephen A. Smith who says that people need to stop ignoring Tatum for MVP, as the best player on the best team

I watch a decent amount of hoops creators/media content and really no one is talking about JT in MVP conversations. I slightly understand because the team is so stacked, so sure maybe he doesn’t have to win it but no one seems to have him in the top 5. Idk the word but I’ve realised there seems to be this odd perception around the league (fans/media/players) that he’s not on certain players’ level and just ain’t that good. Like everyone has just automatically assumed that Shai and Luka are wayyy ahead of him. As amazing as SGA is, what has he really done? Tatum should be top 5 in mvp convos. Seems like he’s constantly overlooked by everyone bar C’s fans.
Only 2 all stars with 6 games lead on everyone else. 😂 joke.
If he'd stop taking highly contested 3's, he may actually be the MVP
Refs hate on him also …real bad…. they struggling to blow the whistle even when the other team is intentionally fouling to stop the clock smh …unbelievable it's been his whole career
This mis-posting of others' names and pictures must stop. My new rule is you get two chances to collect a click on a lie. After that, I look to make sure that YOUR outlet never gets another unique from me, mmkay?
Not in MVP race bcs his team are too stacked.. he doesn't need to score 30 or 40 per game. But still a 1st team all nba for sure
JTMVP 💪☘️☘️💪 winning means something then just Stat padding and losing
MVP individual award, if Tatum stop little step back THREES & attacking to the BASKET big chance Tatum WIN MVP this season
MVP/All-star has lost all meaning. It's a popularity contest award, not a "who's actually the best" award. Tatum is an elite two way player, only other guys in the race that are elite two-way players are Giannis and Kawhi. Brunson and Mitchell are in the convo for MVP ffs lmao. I remember when people actually cared about defense.
The 2 biggest clowns to ever play in the finals. Tatum And brown. Brown can't dribble a basketball Tatum shrinks like a dry sponge I can't stand these Celtic $UpUrsTaRz 😂 if brown and smart and Tatum was gone long ago we win titles. Gimme Mitchell gimme big time players these guys ….,…ugh 😩 Boston fan are beyond dumb
I love white ,holiday and porzingus. Proud and ice cold veins ! I've seen enough brown and Tatum especially brown
Don’t care about MVP, just want rings
