Man I Really hope Klay means it. He’s said something similar to this several times already, this season alone.

If he really buys into new role, no reason why he can’t retire with us.

  2. Full transcript of this exchange:

    > I found out this morning, me and Steve had a good talk about it. And you know, you could do two things. You could pout or you can go out there and respond. And I thought I did the latter very well tonight. Especially no turnovers. I missed a few box outs. But more importantly, I realize I’m going to play a ton of minutes. So you’ve got to let the ego go when you think of coming off the bench and all that. So I mean, I thought about Manu Ginobli. That guy has four rings and gold medal. And he came off the bench his whole career. And I don’t think anyone looks down on his Hall of Fame candidacy. He’s one of the greats.

    >And I thought I mean, I embraced it before tip. I mean, I deserved it really. I didn’t respond to not playing at the end of the game well last night. I kind of took it out on the assistant coaches. And I apologized to those guys before the game. And I think that really let my guard down. Let me just be myself out there.
    >
    >**Follow up question: Did you feel free out there with your playing?**
    >
    >Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Because the moment you worry about what people say or what headlines will be written about being benched or the streak being broken is when you go out there and you don’t play with that love, that compassion for your teammates and that freedom that has gotten me to this point. So I realized that I didn’t want to go to all-star break on a sour note and have my best game of the season. Hopefully build off it.

The Klay Ginobli arc begins. Take paycut. Come off the bench. Win one more ring.

I’m not sure I can him any credit right now for this. He was an ass in the clippers game. Huge ass. He did the pissy pout very well. He’s all over the place emotionally

  5. Did Ginobli really? Growing up all I remember facing was manu, Duncan, Parker

  6. Dogesneakers

Coming off the bench is great for klay teams not as good bench unit and reduced minutes to let him be his best

  7. Sauce_On_Isle3

I thought about ginobli 😂😂😂 man klay if you don’t knock it off lol

What phase of the cycle are we in now ?

  9. thesanmich

Man, him coming off the bench with CP3? Could be pretty interesting.

  10. fedaralala

I tagged Steve in my Twitter post yesterday that it’s time to do it. It has 1 impression. I’m sure that’s him 😂

Klay just needs to look at results. I mean he said it himself in the halftime interview:

He feels better coming off the bench and having fresh legs.

Because of that, he has more energy to be productive in a shorter period of time.

No disrespect, but he should stay coming off the bench because THAT is where he fits on the team: a firecracker that explodes, but doesn’t overstay

Klay all talk then will bitch around

  13. LooneyTunes-

This quote ignored the part where he said he accepted it because he still gets to play a ton of minutes… and you are NOT ginobli buddy, not even close

  14. Dudedude88

I think closing games means more than starting

Klay plays well = this sub shits him.
Klay plays bad = this sub shits him.

  16. rosencrantz2014

The issue here is that Ginobili is way more humble than Klay and accept this role, Klay sometimes is way to proud.

  17. flipchinc

Klay coming off the bench with a healthy CP3 against opponents 2nd units is going to be nice!
