Remember when people said Damian Lillard would be just as good, if not better than Steph if he teamed up with a superstar?

    1. Steph better
    2. I think Dame’s going through a divorce and a custody battle for his kid. That can be taxing, man. I hope he figures it out, dude’s a genuinely fun-to-watch player.

Honestly sucks to see him struggle hopefully he gets his groove back.

“He’s Seeing That It’s Tough To Get Those Quality Looks Right Now… It’s Different Than What It’s Looked Like The Last 4-5 Years.”

You’ll never get me to not like Dame. Idc how many fans make bad takes about him. Oakland guy thru and thru

Klay is better by those stats šŸ˜‚

He only shoots 10% career from 10 ft to 3ft lol steph destroys that.

I hate it when people say “Lillard would have won 4 rings if he replaced Steph”. I say “Oh yeah, you telling me would’ve won MVP?? Let alone be a unanimous MVP??” Plus Dame has only once shot over .400 from 3 (.401), Curry done it every year but one!! And that’s with Klay AND WITHOUT Klay…..So they can’t use the “he’s always had Klay to space the floor” excuse either.

Dame’s always been Dollar Store Steph. Which is still pretty damn good! Also a great shooter, but I don’t think he ever had the off-ball movement and gravity of Steph – never mind the screen setting. And Steph used to be horrible on defense – now he’s not great but reasonably good for a pg, and I believe Dame is still horrible.

Dame is not an all-star starter. He’s not even an all-star. Getting carried by Giannis and has worse shooting splits this season than our very own Klay. With that said, he’s clearly going through a lot in his personal life and we’ve seen with Klay how much mindset can affect your game. As a player, Dame is mid af and always has been, that’s my hot take. As a human being, I wish him the best. Hope he can turn his season and his life around for the better

Damian Lillard is a tier below Steph. Anybody who thought they were equals but Lillard was just in a lesser team is an imbecile. With that said, Dame is older. This is not the same guy from a couple years ago. That’s why I didn’t understand why Buck fans thought he was the answer. If you look at the comments from a lot of Buck fans, a lot of them have been underwhelmed by Lillard as well. And as currently constructed, that Bucks team are not contenders. Screw Giannis for not holding off on signing that extension. Lulz.

Nope, I don’t remember anyone saying that and if somebody did I would assume they really didn’t know much about the game and these two players at all. I don’t believe anybody said this and you are using the title as ā€œclick baitā€

he’s just going through it right now and its def not helping w all the coaching changes and how the rest of the team is a whole lot of mid compared to what everybody thought. he’ll get back eventually but i dont think he’s ever gonna be back to what he was at portland

  12. Creeping_behind_u

Yup.. and harden and Westbrook joined the clippers with Leonard and Paul yet they get the ā€˜golden ok pass’. I will never understand

To be fair dame never had a supporting cast. We all(only me) knew that the shitty defensive (or lack of ) guard duo of cj amd dame would never last

  13. Bucks still have a positive record with Floppy D, even if he’s shooting badly.

  14. McJumbos

You still have to give them some time to gel and switching coaches midyear doesn’t help either. IMO, those people who thought that clearly didn’t understand how good the rest of the team was constructed and the real power in strength in numbers

  15. Puzzleheaded_Heron_5

This was true at peak Lillard but obviously longevity hasn’t been on his side so far.

    A couple of thoughts:

    – I think what makes steph special and better than a lot of other great shooters is his movement off the ball. If dame moved as much as steph, and you had to keep track of him, Giannis now has more space on the floor to move more freely, he can work from anywhere cause you have to watch dame.
    – the oddly don’t run a ton of pick and rolls with the two, from the games that I’ve watched. They fall into a lot of “your turn, my turn” ball. It would be good if they ran more sets. You could even do a double pick and roll with Brook around center court, cause then you have all the room to get downhil with Giannis, dame and Brook at still threads from 3 or you could have them stop and pass from the free throw line to Beasley in a corner or you have cutters on the baseline.

The proper way to phrase this is: “Without Draymond, Steph would’ve had Damian Lillard’s career.”
