The Charlotte Hornets Have POTENTIAL!
What’s up everybody you already know who it is this drib gu darl and I’m back at you guys with another Banger so in today’s video we will be doing a breakdown on the Hornets and actually this was a video request from one of my subscribers shout out to
KT the goat 1289 shout out to him and he pretty much requested that I do do a breakdown on the Charlotte Hornets and just their team in general and hey your wish is my command and just for all of the viewers if you do want me to do a

And I’d say the the first place we want to start off with when we want to just you know break down the Charlotte Hornets is their current standing so as you guys can see we are on nba.com shout out to them and let’s scroll through the Eastern Conference to see exactly where
The U Charlotte Hornets are in the standing so as we scroll down we see they are 13th in the Eastern Conference so they’re literally you know two teams above of being the worst team in the Eastern Conference and when you switch over to the stats and you know just
Basketball reference.com you start to get a better understanding of why this team is so bad so let’s look into it so currently they have a record of 12 and 41 13th in the Eastern Conference as we said before they actually just got a dub against the Indian and a Pacers so
That’s good they are actually on the two game winning streak so it looks like they are starting to hit somewhat of a Groove they actually play today against Atlanta so hopefully they could get that dub and keep the groove going but as we can see our coach is Steve Clifford
Steve Clifford let’s be real he he isn’t very proven as a coach you know he doesn’t really have a good track record and just to go down to the points and games um and other stats it looks like for their points per game they are 28th
Out of 30th when it comes to their offensive rating they are 28 out of 30th when it comes to their opponent points per game they are 24 out of 30th and when it comes to their defensive rating they have the worst defensive rating in the league at 30th
Out of 30 so when you just look at you know the old metrics it’s pretty OB obvious to understand why they’re bad their offense isn’t great and their defense isn’t great they can’t score the ball and they can’t defend other teams and it’s unfortunate it’s definitely unfortunate but let’s continue to scroll
Down so that we can see some areas that they may shine in I don’t really know at this point but right here we got like the teams and opponent stats and let’s just take a look man let’s see if there’s anything that we can look at to
See something that they may actually do well at so just from what I can see man I’m not really seeing much I’mma keep it a b they’re damn near you know bottom of the league when it comes to everything minutes play bottom fi go uh bottom You
Know Field go attempts bottom field go percentage bottom three-point percentage you know 20 at number 22 out of 30 so pretty much bottom threo uh Phi go TOS 20th 3 point percentage you know 20th so pretty much they just at the bottom with a lot of these stats man
Unfortunately but let’s continue on to the players because that’s where you really get a better understanding of you know if the team or what the team and what the players struggle at so let’s just keep it real off rip you can see that the two highest scorers on
The team currently is lamelo ball and also miles Bridges now I’m going keep it real when you have miles Bridges as the second best scorer on your team that’s kind of a red flag but you got to really keep in mind miles Bridges he missed a
Lot of time he really missed was a lot of time when it came to his cases with the police and all that so when you have him as your second best scorer even though he missed plenty of time that’s kind of a red flag I’m going just keep
It real also when it comes to their number one score and lamelo ball he hasn’t played that much he’s only played 22 games this year so with him only playing 22 games you can see why this team just hasn’t been that good their best player in lamelo ball who I’ve made
A video specifically on saying how he’s underappreciated he’s only played 22 games and as you can see he’s by far the best player on this team you know eight rebounds per game five uh no I mean eight assists per game five rebounds per game 24 points per game you know just
Pretty good just pretty good 35% from three League average 43% which is below League average but you can see why this team has been struggling they don’t have their best player Terry Rosier actually got traded so they don’t have him no more so when you just put everything
Together you can understand why this team is struggling Gordon Hayward I don’t believe they have him anymore he got traded so that’s another player where that um isn’t on the team and let’s be real he was okay but he just wasn’t that great you know 46% from the field 36% from three
So he just wasn’t that great I believe uh PJ Washington also got traded so that’s tough too I I actually kind of liked him a little bit to be honest now he was having a struggle of a season but yeah I actually felt like he had a little potential but speaking on
Potential I’ll say the player that I feel like definitely has the most potential on the team besides lamelo ball is Brandon Miller and just hold off on him for now we go get to him but I do just want to talk about some of the new
Pickups that they got you know just to give them um some some of their flowers so they got Seth Curry I think Seth Curry can definitely help this team you know with his shooting um he’s only played two games so far so that’s that’s unfortunate let’s be real but I
Do think that he could definitely help this team a little bit um Also let’s keep scrolling down see who else on this roster um besides that I’m going keep real besides that the rest of the role players they definitely like hit or miss I believe F Smith got traded I believe
He did I’m not I I believe he got traded yes I definitely think that um Seth Curry will help the team with his shooting because let’s be real this team doesn’t have a lot of good shooting and just to go back to you know the star shining bright on this
Team I got to talk about Brandon Miller Brandon Miller by far is the player that I’m most intrigued with on this team as you can see he’s only 21 years old this is his rookie year and he has shown me signs of stardom I’m keeper real now his
Percentages and stuff they may not jump out on the board but let’s just take a look at it man 44% field goal which isn’t that great I’m going keep it real but he does have a 38% threo percentage on six attempts which is great now to continue on he was averaging four
Rebounds and 2.3 assists and he’s um averaging 16.4 points per game no just to move on and uh go a little further I also want to just speak on Grant Williams Grant Williams his fit didn’t necessarily work too well with Dallas but I do believe he can provide a little
More toughness on his team and you know he’s a pretty big body he he could possibly you know help on their on the defensive end for this team and so far he’s been averaging 18 points in only two games so there is some potential threo percentage 41% but
Just to get back on Brandon Miller I do want to show you guys some clips that really have me intrigued on Brandon Miller and the potential that he has as a player all right so we all switched over and shout out to zh highights man

Seen three different ways that Brandon Miller can score man we seen three different ways that he can score and how versatile he is with his scoring let’s just run it back a little bit so and we will actually break down the play so first off with this play right here we
See that he is comfortable in a pick and roll he takes the pick right here and he sees that LeBron is late to switching he is not closing out on uh Brandon Miller aggressively so he takes the easy too he has the space so he just pulls up easy
Money second play Let’s Take a look at it second play once again you see how comfortable he is on the pick and roll now Austin Reeves he goes over the pick and roll so Brandon Miller doesn’t necessarily have um a a lane and also you see that Haim
Mira he got up on the pick so it’s not like Brandon Miller could just you know go straight towards the basket so let’s keep him moving all right as we can see it looks like Austin Reed’s recovered so it’s pretty much a one-on-one situation and with that being said we see that Brandon
Miller if he don’t have you know space to make his shot he can create his own shot as we see right now hit the cross and then ended up scoring so that’s three plays where you can just see his versatility and if you want to actually continue let’s move on
To something more important which is the defensive man that this team needs so much help with and also I think I missed one play he pretty much hit a um it was way back it was back here he hit a um a spot up three which he is pretty good at
So that’s neither here nor there that’s that’s another way that he can score but let’s just move on to the defense because that’s something very important with this Charlotte Hornets team as a whole so let’s just click play right here by the rookie he’s a baller folks 12 Game weav once again good play right there taking what the defense give them but let’s keep it moving I want to show y’all this defensive [Applause] play over down the stretch like he’s done his entire career look at that layup through um through contact but once again I want to

Ball so that was a good play to show Brandon Miller’s you know just good basketball IQ and anticipation so you can see that potential that he does have on the defensive end and then We’re Off to the Races just ripped away him it and yeah with the dunk but hey
Man I think we could close the video out on that man let’s keep it real these Charlotte Hornets they’ve had a rough year so far they definitely have had a rough year so far but I think that’s just due to lamelo ball not being healthy and and you of course they lost
Terry Rosier who was their second best scorer I’d pretty much say first since lamelo hasn’t been in the games for the most part so they definitely had a rough year you know a lot of moving pieces um injuries things of that nature but there is a bright spot when it comes to
