Hi My name is Mark Simon. I’m a Knicks fan dating back to the 1980s and a former half-season ticket holder from about 30 years ago.
I also have a passion for journalism and good work by journalists. I have a weekly podcast on which I’ve interviewed more than 150 journalists about who they are and what they do. It has no ads, no $ made from it. It’s a service to the industry.
I just did an episode with former Knicks beat writer Curtis Bunn, who besides covering the Knicks for Newsday and the Daily News in the 1990s, has had a 40-year career in journalism.

The interview touches on his sportswriting work and the experience of covering the Knicks but also on his entire career. I think Knicks fans who remember reading him might be interested in learning what happened to him after covering the Knicks.
One funny aside: We got to talking off-air about the 93 and 94 Knicks and he asked me “Have you forgiven Charles Smith yet?”
I’m a little embarrassed by my reply
“I’m aware that Charles is a really good person. But no, absolutely not. And I can’t forgive the team going 20-for-35 at the line that day either.”
<sigh>
