Should the Chicago Bulls pursue Joe Harris as a buyout option???
What’s going on everybody my name is Aiden and welcome back to another video ladies and gentlemen today we have got another buyer option to talk about today as we look at a guy that is known to be a fantastic shooter in the NBA but really not much of anything else
Unfortunately but considering the fact that the Bulls could use some extra shooting and I think that it’s always a given in this league it can always be a little bit more shooting towards the team the question needs to be asked should the Chicago Bulls use this type
Of player and pursue him in the bio market and he could potentially be available all things said and done but before we get any further if you like the video and you want to see more from me drop a like drop a follow and or
Subscribe if you are new and let me know in the comments below your thoughts about the Bulls and whether or not this player will make sense for the Chicago Bulls as well now I’ve got a little bit of stats with me but today we’re going to be talking about Joe Harris um
Obviously got waved from the Detroit Pistons was a very good player for the Brooklyn Nets I think injuries have gotten in the way of allowing him to become a great player in this league to get paid a little bit more money than what he does and stuff of that nature
And it just hasn’t worked out for him over the last couple of years uh so it’s again it’s a bit upsetting to talk about this player because you obviously want to remember the player that was fantastic for that team again that Brooklyn Nets team was a really
Underrated team that team with DLo Joe Harris and stuff of that nature even a little bit later I think he played with Kevin Durant for a little bit and stuff of that nature again correct me if I’m wrong when I say all those things but he was a very good player extremely well
Needed player a guy that could make the difference based on shooting alone and again when you have star power around this type of guy to put him in the corner to put him in a situation where he could just shoot the ball and make it easier for him again he’s a good asset
To have in that regard but for whatever reason whether it’s Detroit whether it’s Joe Harris himself it just hasn’t worked out now this season we’re going to look at some stats right but these are stats at the end of the day you have to take with a pinch of salt because I do
Believe there was a few inj concerns with Joe Harris this season and he’s only played 16 games overall this season now I do believe he is healthy now which is good hopefully he’s healthy now which is good and again take these stats with a pinch of salt so he’s played 16 games
This season and he averages 2.4 points per game now look when you look at that does that necessarily look like a player you’d want to sign for the Chicago Bulls again this is why stats could be deceiving sometimes because I know a lot of guys are interested in Joe Harris I’ve seen
It all over social media some comments in my comment section as well talking about Joe Harris but when you look at that stat specifically and that’s all you know about the player is that someone you’d want to bring into the Bulls the answer would probably be no so
That’s why take all stats with a grain of salts speaking of stats his 3point percentage is 33% this season now is a massive like literally an overwhelming drop off I believe a 10% drop off from the three-point line this season again he only averages 2.4 points he doesn’t
Even average three points per game that’s how bad the drop off is in the 16 games that he has played Now Grant ad minutes and whatnot as well will play a factor in that so again pinch your s when I look at these stats but overall you’re looking at his entire career we
Know Joe Harris is a shooter his career three-point percentage is 43% from the field that is probably the best on the team if we signed him I mean Lonzo ball is 42% I believe in his career as a Bulls player um LaVine got to 40% last
Season I think Patrick Williams is a 40% three-point shooter as well um IO is getting close to that range for the most part Javon Carter’s been a 40% three-point shooter in the past on on small number of attempts so again it’s just another guy to add to the shooting
Pecking order as well but here’s where I kind of think joar stands out for the rest in terms of three-point shooting now again correct me if I’m wrong I know he’s an incredible catch and shoot player I know he’s one of the best players in terms of the corners we know
This again years and years and years ago he was one of the best corner shooters in the NBA on both Corners it was as simple as that but I think there’s more to his game from the three-point line again you’re not getting Joe Harris to play defense for you we’ll get to that
Later you’re not playing Joe Harris to playmake for you you’re just not getting that player for that reason you’re getting Jo Harris to shoot the ball and I think he has a little bit more to his game in the three-point line than the other guys we could sign like a Marcus
Morris are likee other guys around the league I think he does more off the ball I think he can maybe get his shot a little bit off the driple you know maybe those moving shots and stuff of that nature that we don’t often see from this
Bulls team I mean I guess Zack LaVine is the closest we get to that Zack LaVine can shoot his shot off the dribble Zack LaVine can shoot moving without the ball and stuff of that nature and again I think it’s a guy that we could desperately need on this team and I
Think Joe Harris can do that very similar to what Duncan Robinson does Duncan Robinson just moves without the ball all all the time he’s always moving without the ball now I’m not saying Jo Harris is the better mover compared to D Rob I actually think it’s not he’s not
He doesn’t move as much but he can move he can shoot off the dribble he can shoot moving you know he it’s not just a catch and shoot player you’re getting with Joe Harris like you might get with other guys and if that’s all you’re getting with Joe Harris if all you’re
Getting is a catch and shoot player and he’s probably the last person I’d want on this team cuz I think you could get other guys that contributes a little bit more everywhere else but can also shoot the catch and shoot so you’re getting Joe Harris for a little bit more than
That and that could be something that we need we don’t have a lot of guys that could do that on this Bulls team but now let’s turn to of course a big staggering stumbling block for Joe Harris for the Chicago Bulls and everything in between and that is the fact that Joe Harris
Defensive rating keep in mind the lower the defensive rating the better it is and I believe the average is 113 I’m not actually sure what the average is but put it this way Joe Harris is miles miles below League average he’s 124 that is his defensive rating in the NBA this
Season so when he has been able to play he’s not been able to guard now again a pinch of salt with that stat but we know this about Joe Harris he’s not been able to guard for a while he’s not been a good defender in this league and again I
Have to compare with dcan Robertson CU I think he’s the best guy to compare him with D Robertson when he’s making his shots he’s a playable player he’s a guy that can make a difference offensively he’s a guy that can contribute and be a Difference Maker in a win and a loss but
When Duncan Robertson doesn’t make his shots he’s a liability on the defensive end he works hard he tries his best sometimes he can get a stop or two but he just isn’t NBA ready defensively and you have to you have to know that certain games you won’t be able to play
Duncan Robinson in a whole lot of minutes certain Games will’ll be playing 30 minutes a night that’s kind of how I view a Joe Harris situation if Joe Harris is let’s say playing 10 minutes for the Chicago Bulls off of the bench and he makes two shots then yeah you
Might consider playing him cuz he could be the difference in the last quarter of a game when we need a big three Chuck inj Harris and he can get the job done for you but if Joe Harris plays 10 15 minutes gets zero points and is a
Liability on defense then Billy needs to be able to know this and bench the guy and I don’t trust Billy Donovan to do that to be honest if we sign a guy that is truly Li a liability on the defensive end I’m not saying Jo Harris is completely unreliable but again I just
Don’t think his defensive rating speaks for itself with a piece of salt and I think it’s just a reputation thing with Joe Harris but either way if he for whatever reason is a liability on the defensive end for the Bulls Billy Donovan loves set minutes he always has
He loves set minutes now I’m happy he’s going a little bit away from it these days but we know what Billy Donovan is in this league it is as simple as that so do you trust Billy Donovan to bench a Joe Harris when he is struggling from
The field and he can’t defend I honestly don’t know the answer to that I really really don’t do you trust Billy Donovan to use him correctly do you even trust Billy Donovan to run plays for a guy like Joe Harris cuz again it’s it seems like it’s mainly the players that are
Making the plays out there compared to the coach the coach needs to be more of a motivator than a tactician I guess coaching wise so again there’s a lot of things that goes into a Joe Harris signing would I take him again he’s going to be the last man on the Rost
He’s the 15th man I would take anybody on that 15th man if they can make a difference in oneway form or fashion so yes I would take Joe Harris is he my first option no he’s not my first option but can he helped his Bulls team at his
Best if he could get back to the 40% range from the 3 point line if he could take more than two attempts per game then yeah I think he probably could make a difference for the balls and I think he could show a pro to be a valuable
Asset keep in mind when you’re playing with Detroit you’re playing with Cade and Cade is the only real ball handler on that team that makes a difference I know Killian Hayes used to be that maybe Ivy every now and then but you’re focusing on Cade there’s not a lot of
Defensive pressure I guess that goes elsewhere and let me give you an example if you have to guard demand de rosan there’s a there’s pressure under M Rosen you have to guard Nicola vich there going to be double team throwing Nicola vvc’s way Kobe White’s going to be a guy
That will draw double teams and that will P um team’s best defenders on him so you have all the attention elsewhere whereas with Detroit the attention is kind of everywhere with Detroit you got cage yes you focus on Cade he’s a heck of a player and sometimes double teams
Will have to go his way but there’s nobody else I think for the Bulls there’s a lot of guys that could draw attention offensively the Joe Harris job will be a little bit more easier on the balls than it is on the Pistons but that being said is are these stats I guess
Permanent stats for him from now on is this the type of player that he’s going to be or can he be more than what we’ve seen with Detroit he’s absolutely sucked with Detroit even when he’s healthy so let’s hope that could be a Difference Maker if he is going to come to the
Chicago balls cuz I honestly believe he’s the most likely outcome I really do believe he’s the guy that we’re getting so if it is going to be the case let’s hope he steps up to the play what do you guys think I’ll see you in the next
Video stay safe stay healthy and stay tuned for more take care and peace
Should we pursue him???

if the Bulls take a chance on Joel Harrison it’ll either result in him coming back to form from his lack of success since the Nets-KD era or we could be getting a taller & worse player than Jevon Carter.
There really is not much on the buyout market that is likely to make a big difference for the Bulls. Harris would be fine and might help the offense coming off the bench, I was hoping to sign Thadeus Young back but he signed elsewhere.
Thoughts on bringing in Robin Lopez, Nerlins Noel or maybe like Dwight Howard? any of those guys affordable or realistic? bring Lopez back. I forgot which one position/part of the game you think the Bulls should focus on
