LeBron 50/50 on farewell tour, Draymond talks Warriors trade for LBJ | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

There you go there a lot here there a lot here so who are they trading who are they trading it is possible that Draymond doesn’t know you know what I mean I don’t know man as the CEO media I think he understands that Us in Old

Media have the the CBA done front to back so he needs to as well and I think Draymond Draymond is sharp Draymond and not smart Draymond while maybe he is not you know crunching the numbers Bobby Mark style he knows the salaries have to come close to matching up there is I I

Spent the time on it this afternoon very very difficult to find a trade that does not involve either clay or Jonathan kaminga yep and so like the Wiggins is one that can fit in but Wiggins right now is a negative asset because of his contract like you’re not he’s not

Playing well right no that’s my point my point is with his so I think Draymond is too smart to think there was ever going to be a world where they are acquiring LeBron James and not giving up something of value and this is where and this is something LeBron has dealt with It’s

Tricky when your name and then you confirm is publicly associated with yeah I wanted us to go get that guy is everybody knows well that means somebody had to leave and maybe he’s trying to you know be more protective of kinga’s feelings in klay’s feelings and maybe it

Was just an oversight there but him saying very clearly I told him Chuck says clay and kaminga Lakers would do it and draymond’s like let me set the record straight I told him kaminga is Untouchable and so and Clay’s already going through his own you know emotions

Of what this year has been and what his future is everywhere so it’s just I don’t believe I don’t want to say I don’t believe him I find this hard to believe but it also it’s creates a messy situation for a team that was just trying to find its footing in golden

State no I agree and I think Draymond and you’re right it was maybe an oversight uh that he didn’t mention clay but I do think he’s doing some locker room management like I don’t you know kaminga is actually a huge part of what we’re doing now he’s he’s averaged about

20 points over the last two months he’s a big part of this recent surge we don’t want him being unhappy so let me say I didn’t want him in it um but look if I’m Golden State now I know the Lakers are the ones that turned it down

I would go if they could have got LeBron for clay and kaminga and some picks absolutely they would had to give up picks well but okay but kaming look and kaming for La obviously he’s not as good as LeBron even still at this stage for LeBron but going forward like kaminga

Looks like he could be he could become relatively special and like a nice second option to ad so for the Lakers that’s not bad and for Golden State I get com they have to forget about this future thing you have to maximize Steph Curry’s present correct period all right

Because it’s when Steph’s gone it’s probably going down here that’s generally how it works what the Lakers after Kobe was done and even late in his career they had a downslide until LeBron got there generally after you have a great run you have a drought all right

So they have to accept that uh but go maximize step’s present and that would have been getting LeBron so even if it would have costum Kingo who I really like they should have done it yeah I mean I don’t I don’t think anybody thinks that when it comes to winning a

Title this year or next year Jonathan kaminga is more valuable than LeBron James no matter I understand that John kaminga is 21 and LeBron is in year 21 which sounds insane but right now LeBron is a far better player and this was and this is where the criticism of this

Feels un un Fair because they did win a title in the midst of it I think they won a title despite it but when they had those lottery picks kaminga and Moody were two of the youngest players in those drafts going with like kinga’s been on the team three years now he’s 21

And he’s just now show you know showing what he could be to me that two trck plan was always a little I don’t want to say arrogant but a little over zel like you said they got their ring they and so CR but it’s not like they got their ring

With kaminga Moody and wisman contributing a ton that Championship it was the opp wi P exactly right yep what are you guys laughing about what are you laughing about I’m just surprised that I’m surprised what are you surprised about that he doesn’t feel comfortable accepting you don’t have you don’t you

Feel that way you never like us to compliment you that’s true but I also don’t start the show by putting in an imagary hi I’m Kevin Wilds true okay I look LeBron I think he’s been great at accepting praise all right and here’s the thing and you you guys probably even

Remember this LeBron is the one that made the MVP speech in for the NBA MVP award a thing like before that if you go back and remember guys would you know maybe be at their practice facility or before a game or something if they’re still playing remember Duncan got one

Wearing like birken stocks and it wasn’t as big of a you know they the league would have their people there and they would give you the award you’d say a little something LeBron and he did a fantastic job but LeBron made it a production and then KD took the Baton

And had his you know she’s the real MVP speech so that’s accepting praise and I’m not I think that was great for LeBron because I think it should be that type of moment he had it at his high school hundreds of people there so I think there’s that but farewell tour I

Think the challenging thing for LeBron is that look most of these guys Kobe averaged 17 points on like 36% shooting this last year Dr J had been in a little bit of a decline last year averaged 16 Kareem was 17 then 14 then 10 like you could see it’s over that’s all right

Right and LeBron is still playing well enough where I mean I if I’m him I’m entering the season like man I don’t know let’s see how I do let’s see how we do you that’s my exact answer he don’t the re I don’t think LeBron’s going to choose against a farewell tour because

He’s going to find the adulation to be too much I think that while maybe initially he was uncomfortable with it he’s maybe grown to figure out how to deal with it I don’t think he wants to box himself in to an end dat and so unless the only way I could see it

Happening would be if in a season if in the final month of a year or two months you see a significant serious decline or suffers a significant injury that is not career ending but it’s like oh okay this is probably going to be it next year but otherwise I don’t think Wilds LeBron

Wants to say all right you know what I’m out after this year and then that year he’s awesome and he’s like well wait a minute I want to keep going because there is I know Brady did the retirement and come back and play with it again

There is an element of if you do the 30 stadiums you know what I mean 30 you can’t really come back and so I don’t think LeBron is I I said this on the air a couple months ago and people made fun of me I’ll say it again I don’t

Think LeBron is going to play long enough to ever be bad he might you know what I mean he will continue to decline a bit but I think LeBron if he plays four more years I think he will be a positive contributor to winning all four

Years I think he will be a fringe Allstar level guy at worst all four years I believe that and so I don’t think you’re that’s fascinating that’s an AB I I don’t disagree with you and it’s insane well it’s the we use he’ll be 43 43 doing that yeah I mean yeah I

Mean he just turned 39 and so yeah I mean I but and I don’t think he’s going to play for more years my point is we I thought brw history lesson was useful like that the everybody else they were a to and Durk and Duncan as well that

Final year they were a totally different guy and the only who really wasn’t was Carl Malone he was a different guy that year with the Lakers but he was still pretty good but then he got hurtt and then that was over like the other thing is brownie like if brownie doesn’t come

Out this year then if LeBron still really wants to play with him you know he doesn’t know okay is he ready this year is he ready NE you know so that there’s that and um I look I would love to I I hope LeBron would take a farewell

Tour at some point be and I say this for him he mentioned he’d love to do it for his f and stuff but look LeBron has been the most scrutinized NBA player ever if not American athlete all right and his career I do think and I I alluded to

This a week or two ago a lot it’s been so much criticism yeah it’s like the whole career has been in the shadow and in comparison with Michael Jordan that I don’t think it’s been a as great as he’s been praised and all that I don’t think I I would like him to

See really get the praise and agulation without it being about I he the goat comparing him to Michael Jordan and him to see that in experience man fans in all these Arenas just giving him love and not thinking about it whether he’s better only been to see LeBron here I

Don’t haven’t seen him anywhere oh la obviously and in Cleveland and in Cleveland and in Golden yeah um but I wonder when we were at the Garden it felt it didn’t feel like a a a farewell tour but it did feel like there was a collective acknowledgement that

This is not going to last forever correct that we in the last final holes of the golf course like and everyone it’s like the crowd was very Pro there was odd there were a couple times in that game where it looked like LeBron had leaked out on a fast break and guys

Didn’t hit him and there was an odd like sigh of disappointment from the Knicks crowd who are great fans and we’re rooting for the Knicks like oh we could have gotten a bron highlight there’s the last thing I’ll say that what I think could change it is if the team in Vegas

Gets an official start date and if it’s like okay I’m going to play up until I then take over own you know what I mean ownership of a team then I think it’ll then his career would have a hard end dat that was a good conversation coming

  1. Lebron’s ego is WAY too big for him not to do a farewell tour. He is straight up lying saying it is 50/50.

  2. If you watch the full clip of Draymond and Chuck you’ll hear Draymond say something along the lines “who said we’re trading Klay”? I’m not sure if he’s telling the truth but Dray did mention both Klay and Kuminga

  3. LeBron's farewell tour would be better than "The Decision" sequel, featuring a stage rollout and highlight reels at every game! 😂🏀

  4. LeBron won't go to the Warriors if Steve Kerr is there . He won't go there if the Splash Bros aren't there either. Lebron is used to bullying and undermining his Head Coaches . That won't happen with Steve Kerr . Steve Kerr has 9 Rings . Steve Kerr is known for taking his Superstars out of the 4th Quarters . Lebron is trying to maximize as many minutes as he can play to keep his All Time Player Stat Averages up . Then there's the fact that LeBron doesn't want to use the Bulls / Lakers Triangle Offense at all . He has wanted to distance himself to anything to do with Jordan or that System to separate himself From Jordan in the GOAT Debate . The Warriors have used the Triangle ALOT since 2015 .

  5. I can't wait till lebron retires and these dudes realize they haven't prepared for what comes after him

  6. I would be very surprised if lebron retired in 4 years if he can keep playing at even 70% of where hes at now, especially if hes playing with his son(s)

  7. Bron is going to Celtics and win one ring then one ring as owner for 6 rings

  8. Its a lose lose situation. If he does it and they arent really good during year it will be a whole year of negativity more so then he already receives. " see look lebron cant win or go deep in playoffs the year he says hes done hes no goat blah blah. No one expected jordan or kobe to win their last years playing. Wizards or any other team mj was not going to win as a starter after he left bulls.Unfair to his teammates as well since all that added pressure will be on them. If he doesnt do it then hes selfish and doesnt care about the fans blah blah. I dont think he should do it unless the team is just trash they mentioned or he suffers a big injury.

  9. I think he might have ment adulation in a different way. Yes getting praised for somthing your doing okay cool. But think a farewell tour is different. like u know how when people sing happy birthday dp u as an adult and u just jave to sit there and smile awkward until they are done….now imagin that as a tour. Maybe thats how he feels it would be?

  10. Crowning yourself “king” and then saying “I’m not good at accepting praise” is crazy loooooooool

  11. This is the only player of this magnitude NBA history we constantly talking about where does he go next. Smdh.

  12. Bron brought the scrutiny on himself though. We were all excited for him and Melo to get into the league, and it was FUN basketball to watch with those 2 doing their thing. But Bron was the only one who was getting that “chosen one,” “king,” “heir apparent,” type treatment. And he bought into it. Man has never been humble since he’s been in the league, and people naturally will scrutinize the cocky players. Is what it is. He still did as expected, so you can’t really knock him for being that way 😂

  13. Idk why they keep asking draymond questions. This man is playing UFC on the basketball court. All he does is make the extra pass on the warriors and fight people. Please get this clown off the TV

  14. The lakers didn't turn it around when lebron got there they missed the playoffs they turned around when AD got there

  15. Lebron is the John Cena of the Nba, crowd that loves him and hates him just as much, but the end, people know lebron worked really hard in his trade, was durable to play as many games as he could. Whenever he does retire people will cheer him, all the way out without espn or fox hyping his departure, cause he is that great, PEACE TO LION!

  16. tom brady is the most scrutinized player of all time, and its not even close, got suspended from the league over trumped up charges on cheating, all the winning, then leaving to win somewhere else, just sayin

  17. Lebron is not contributing to winning anymore. He spends 3/4 of the time strolling between the two freethrow lines and taking "gimme's" from his teammates. He is not fit to play both sided of the ball.

  18. Random thought, but I think LeBron is solid as the number 2 of all time, and like a 1A 1B type thing with Jordan. In spite of his shortcomings against Dallas and some other things in his career, delivering Cleveland a title against the Warriors has to be one of the all time achievements in basketball.

  19. If lebron had to actually compete he would be retired but when you are spoiled by superteams you only have to corp half the efforts. This lebron cheated the game

  20. I also don't believe Draymond. He always makes stuff up. "I called Trump last night and we had a good conversation and, quite frankly, I told him he was wrong" 😂😂
