Pat Bev’s Advice to Dame

“Hey bro, \[Dame\], check it. When you’re out there shooting in practice, you gotta shoot like you mean it. You know those crazy 40-foot shots you take during our offensive drills? Yeah, those ones. Shoot ’em. Shoot ’em so the whole team can see… So when we’re running our offense with you and Giannis, you gotta take those shots, man. We need to see it. We need to see if you miss, how we’re gonna rebound, how we’re gonna react. We gotta be able to adjust. You feel me? ‘Damn, Pat, I never looked at it like that’ \[Dame\]. But it’s true, bro. I’m out here trying to win championships, man. So all those bad shots? Take ’em in practice. Yeah, for real. And you know what? I think it’s almost more important that you give it your all in practice than in the game sometimes.”

Damn give Pat Bev a raise Dame needed to hear that.

Do you know what part of the podcast that he says this?

You guys are about to see dames greatest strength: the ability to learn from adversity and come back even better than he was before

  4. cracks me up that he calls the 40 footers ‘bad shots’ like Paul George did. I wonder if that’s an intentional reference. it doesnt seem like he means ‘missed shots’ here.

Bev is *undeniably* a team chemistry asset that is almost priceless on this team

Hoping between this and what Shaq said that we see a different side of Dame during the second half of the season.
