Cam Thomas will most likely be traded than extended
Will Cam Thomas get an extension?
"In the summer, he’ll be eligible for a contract extension. I don’t think it’s going to get done. I think Thomas is a guy the Nets could potentially include in a trade if it’s worthwhile for them." (Per: @MikeAScotto) pic.twitter.com/Mb41aRGzGy

Yeah that would be the end of my fandom with this team. He’s literally the next all star for the foreseeable future if we keep developing him
If the Nets trade Cam Thomas, it better be for a top 10 player in the league. Cam Thomas is the only bright spot on this overall underwhelming roster. Yeah Mikal is the *best* player, but everyone knows who he is and what his ceiling can be. CamT is still only 22 and can legitimately shape out to be an all time great.
Feel like the fan base is so split on this guy. You look at his pts per game vs. most stars at his age and it’s clear he’s a professional bucket. Additionally, his playmaking and defense has improved this year. Despite this, if you’re looking to bring in a star, especially a small guard like Mitchell, CT will be key to that trade lets be realistic.
i’m not even surprised.. build the team around mikal! trade everyone else! lolol im tired man real tired
Definitely seems fair to see what’s out there. No way an extension gets done imo.
But if a team throws out a ridiculous offer for Cam, it would be foolish to not entertain it. Same with anyone else on the Nets.
It could be that Thomas has already let the Nets know that he has no interest in staying with a team that has shown him no support
Then trade Bridges too
Extending Cam Johnson but not Cam Thomas? What a joke
Wouldn’t Cam be a RFA? Just give him the contract Sexton got from Cavs and match if another team offers him more. It’s not like he would get a massive contract from other teams
Keep bridges who is coming up on 28 and trade Thomas…
If this is the true gameplan then KD was absolutely correct in asking for both Nash and Marks to be fired.
If we trade Thomas I’ll probably be done with this team. You finally DRAFT a player who has the potential to be an all star and we can’t value him???? Everyone complains about us not drafting stars well we did it’s cam Thomas
> Cam Thomas will most likely be traded than extended
The tweet does not say this.
> Will Cam Thomas get an extension? “In the summer, he’ll be eligible for a contract extension. I don’t think it’s going to get done. I think Thomas is a guy the Nets could potentially include in a trade if it’s worthwhile for them.”
The tweet says this.
That’s not what this tweet says
Cam Thomas has obvious flaws. But giving up on him is ridiculous. His numbers aren’t the best but they’re not bad. I’ll take 22 PPG on 55 TS% for a 22 year old in his first year starting with a shit HC who only built the offense around 1 guy who never plays.
Look at Maxey’s numbers without Embiid. Extremely similar to Cam’s scoring wise. Maxey is obviously a better playmaker but we have literally done little to help CamT improve his playmaking. The article yesterday said that JV ran no offense without Ben.
Who is this guy?
This title is not what was said OP
I’m eager to see what cam thomas does with a different coach. I’d have a hard time trading some home grown talent like this unless he wants an outrageous contract.
They could always give him a short prove-it contract like they gave to Clax.
I believe nothing until we know who our GM and HC are in the offseason
Long time fan but getting rid of the potential of Cam might make me look for other teams
Don’t get your panties in a twist over this. This is an opinion of a guy on the internet.
ITT: people overreacting about a journalist’s opinion that was falsely presented as fact
This is such a bad post title. The tweet says basically nothing, and makes it clear it’s just opinion, not sourced, but OP goes with this nonsense
We better fucking not trade him 😡
Wemby. You are a NET.
Would be stupid for nets to trade him when he hasn’t even hit his ceiling yet.
I’d let him hit restricted free agency and match what his value is in the market if you think his talent continues to develop. Right now he’s unpolished and teams won’t give up much for him let him play out his 4th year and see where you are at.
Cam Thomas is here to stay fuck the clickbait post titles
Cam Thomas’s bird right would only occupy 11M in 2025 summer allowing Nets to create huge salary cap space with Ben’s expired. And he’ll be restricted free agent so there’s no need to worry that he’s gonna leave for nothing.
Same for Sharpe.
Whether you trade them or not, extending their contract early is not the smartest move.
That would be a real shame. Guy’s one of the more fun and interesting players to watch – to me, he’s the one you build around
