Well you know I’m pretty sure they get a good welcome back but you know got to take care of business that hand and that is a Sacramento King so let’s go and preview tonight’s game so Spurs are coming into tonight’s game 11- 44 kings are 31 and

23 and uh in case you forgotten let’s rewind the clock the Spurs are coming off a road loss against dallas6 to 99 Wy watch he recorded 26 points and nine rebounds so had 10 points at four rebounds cin Johnson had three points Off the Bench not a good

Night for him Vel had 11 points at the loss Trey Jones haded four points and two assist for those on Jersey watch the Spurs will be in their City Edition jerseys tonight versus Sacramento all right let’s go ahead and take a look at a few things as we always do to get you

Ready for tonight’s contest and as always we’ll start off with the opposition so the Kings so here’s what you got to look out for so the Kings have been on a tear on the rebounding Edge so they have outrebounded their opponents in four straight games so the

Spurs want to need a chance to beat the Kings tonight got to keep them off the glass they got to control the rebounding category with wimy there hopefully that’ll be a lot easier but yeah keep an eye on that the Kings have been crashing the boards of

Late good news is I guess for the Spurs is that the Kings is despite them you know crashing the boards uh they actually have been turning the ball a lot now the last two games they’ve recorded uh more turnovers than their opponents now the Spurs got to take

Advantage of that get out on transition points off turn turn overs those easy points if the kings are continuing this pattern that’s are those again those are easy opportunities for the Spurs toh go to Sacramento and get the upset win we don’t look Spurs don’t want to see the

Kings like the beam all right don’t like the beam on San Antonio tonight don’t let that happen Spurs so keep an eye on that for uh for the Spurs to benefit them you know Kings have been turning the ball over now keep an eye on the

Scoreboard as well the kings are 13 and one in their gym when they’re leading at halftime so if they’re up at half they don’t relinquish the lead so if you’re seeing that come halftime Spurs are down yikes might be another L for the Spurs now let’s go look at the spur side of

Things so as much as the Kings tend to be dominant at home when leading at halftime the Spurs on the road are dominated as well as matter of fact they’re undefeated they’re four and0 on the road when leading after the third period so that’s a great Trend if you

That’s your ex page definitely I’ve always uh sort of had a think uh thing for the Tasmanian devil just because all the destruction he causes and then you know when I was I was a little terror when I was younger so ah yeah you’re

Still a terror by the way not not like I used to be my mom was my poor mom yeah oh yeah yeah exactly you know I I I was never a Taz kind of kid growing up but my dad told me stories when he was a kid

That he was a Tasmanian Devil with his mom my grandmother to the point where every time my grandma wanted to discipline him that he would just run up and down the the neighborhood and ask him why’ you do that he goes because she had to get tired eventually

Exactly maybe maybe it skips a generation because my son isn’t like that at all so yeah yeah yeah I was just more of the quiet like I was like whatever that was kind of my attitude as a kid but uh again uh Ru is here to chat

About the Spurs and perhaps the biggest thing that’s on Spurs fans minds and lips and collectively across the fan base is Trey young now Spurs fans are drooling most most of them not all of them but a good majority of them are drooling over the thought of Trey young

Coming to San Antonio pairing up with win bayama there’s so many reports and scuttlebutt and this and that and he said she said but as always where there’s smoke could there be fire so we’re going to be discussing that right now so R buy or sell that a Trey young

Pairing with Wim bayama in San Antonio could happen um I at first I didn’t think it was possible but all the different little signs I I think it I think the chances of it happening are about 70% right now um it just seem you know seems like Atlanta’s getting

Ready to do a fire sale in the offseason uh looks like they’re going to do a reset um um so I I definitely I’m leaning more toward it happening now I I would be surprised if I would be surprised if Trey young is not traded whether he comes to or not is a

Different story but I definitely think he’s getting traded yeah I do too I I think Trey young is getting traded now whether San J or not I agree with you that remains to be seen But bringing Trey young obviously would help wiim be in the scoring Department you know we see

Kellin you know I think right before the the allstar break had a horrible game you know Deon vasel now credit to him he did have a string of great games I mean 20 or more points he was on fire but you know kind of off from from time to time

And outside of Sohan and vasel really that’s it as far as consistent offensive help you know soan once in a while you know Trey Jones he does what he can uh so Bringing In Trey young would solve that and let’s face it Ro we’ve seen this team go through offensive droughts

Haven’t we oh yeah definitely I mean uh it’s just sort of inconsistent like there’s times when when Kellin looks amazing at time Devon looks amazing Blake well Wesley starting to come on you know wy’s obviously been the one consistent scorer all season but even he’s had little moments where he’s kind

Of struggled at times um Trey would give them that extra boost the veteran boost definitely helped their offense uh you know he he would be just a tremendous tremendous asset for them yeah and look you’re bringing in a guy who’s an Allstar you know for his career is

Averaging 25 points per game 3.6 rebounds per game I was kind of impressed by this I don’t know if you’re this is shocking to you but for his career close to 10 assists a game 9.5 so yeah yeah go ahead I was gonna say that’s one of the under underrated

Uh aspects of his game he is a tremendous distributor distributor um I think people sort of you know because he’s such a great shot maker and such a you know such a great scorer in the clutch I think people kind of forget or or Overlook how good of an assist person

He is but he is he is tremendous uh at at passing Distributing the ball and uh he seems to know when to pass it and when to shoot it so that that’s that’s a huge asset for right for any team you know especially you know a young team

Like the Spurs absolutely and again for his career shooting about 44% and 35% from the three line so yeah obviously we know what he can do offensively we’ve seen it you know knock it down very deep threes nearly half court he can be electric he can score with the best of

Them we got that but you have concerns with defensively he is undersized uh you know he he’s not he ain’t winning no dpoy Defensive Player of the Year Awards or let alone defensive all first teams is that a concern would it really would it be addition and subtraction at the same

Time or in today’s modern NBA does it really matter because nobody plays defense uh I think it’d be diffic difficult I think Spurs fans love him now I think once he’ get on the court and he wouldn’t be he wouldn’t be a sound defensively I think you’d hear

Spurs fans grumbling about that yeah you will but uh you know wimy wimy makes up for a lot of mistakes um I think um if you put wimy and soan alongside him I think that would make up for a lot I think uh I think if you had Trey out

They’d probably put Trey on you know U obviously someone a little smaller someone that maybe not as scoring as much and if if he was going up against say like a Dame Lillard or something like that I think they switch out and they put soan on Lillard so there’s ways

Around it to where I I think they could uh sort of lessen his um you know defensive deficiencies um but you know it’s kind of like what they have now with with Trey you know Trey is a Huston guy uh a lot better defensively than people give

Him credit for but he is undersized uh you know but wmy uh seems to help help him out as well so I I don’t think having Trey would be as big a hit defensively as some people might think yeah yeah you’re you’re get in the head

You know with with Wy in the back uh defending the paint you’re you’re you’re good you if somebody blows by Trey young all right fine so we you got you gotta face wimy so good luck to you whoever does that but at the same time though again addition by subtraction is Atlanta

Is probably going to put a high sticker price on that trade you know I multiple first round picks perhaps some of the young guys on the roster I don’t think he’s Trey young the type of player that you mortgage your future away uh you know we talked about

This before we hit the record button and you really have a good point about this although Spurs fans see the awesomeness of a onew punch like wimy and Trey young there is the business side of it you think that actually could hurt the Spurs in the

Rebuild I think I think so um I think if they could make a trade where they don’t give up too many of their assets they always going to have they give up you know some but um as far as like I’ve seen people talk about you know basically giving away all their draft

Picks and a lot of the draft picks and some young players I think that’s going to hurt them as far as um not just the rebuild but sustaining U the team because you know for whatever reason free agents don’t want to come to San Antonio and I don’t think I think even

With wimy if even if you put wmy and Trey together I still don’t think free agents are going to want to come here I don’t know if it’s the market size um or what but um um I think people some people say oh it’s because they don’t

Want to play with pop no people players love Pop I think it maybe has to do with the market size I mean you look at uh players that leave here uh you know they’re uh like kawhai kawhai is doing more National commercials now uh everyone who seems to leave here seems

To get a bigger stage once they they go somewhere else whether it’s commercials or you know being picked to all-star teams or getting you know uh uh postseason honors like whatever reason San Antonio just doesn’t get the uh acknowledgement that they that they deserve uh so I think if you trade away

Those assets how are they going to sustain their team in the future again because you’re not gonna be able to get free agents uh if Trey and wmy do well you can redraft in late um you know Spurs did a great job drafting Tim and excuse me Tony and Manu but if for

Whatever reason if they hadn’t drafted him like where was going to be where were they going to to get the the players to fill that team out alongside Timmy uh again because I think the only free agent that we came only big name free agent that we came close to getting

Was Jason kid and then he decided not to after all at the last minute from from what I understand um so again if you trade away those picks uh what are you gonna do in the future uh Brian Wright I know he gets knocked a lot but he’s done

A tremendous job uh putting together all these assets and people knock him a lot but then at the same time people are saying like oh you know we have all these assets let’s trade them away well Brian Wright got all those assets and he got them for a reason uh you know to

Continue this build and I know some people knock him uh again knock Brian Wright but he’s done a great job some people point to Oklahoma City and how they’re able to get uh Shay but they traded Paul George for Shay you know if Brian right and Shay wasn’t Shay when he got

Traded and the thing is like you know um if Spurs have been able to trade Kawai for what he was worth maybe they have a shay they have a bunch of draft picks but at that time you know Kawai wanted to go and I thought I thought Brian did

An amazing job getting what he did considering Kawai didn’t want to be here kaai was Dam demanding to be traded reportedly he only wanted to go to La you know Brian Wright got yaka Demar and some draft picks and then he you know traded Demar and then yaka for even more

Assets so um again all those assets are very valuable not just um in order to maybe get a player like Trey but also to sustain that team uh you know they need those high draft picks in order to to get those great players in the future yeah absolutely yeah you know I I

At the end of the day if this first trade for Trey young I’m not gonna be mad I think that’s going be a great you know but my concern is the price tag yeah you know just how much will the Hawks dang let give that bill to the

Spurs okay this what’s going to cost you now BR they can’t afford it that’s the good thing you know you mentioned Brian right now he has put him in a position to afford any type of price tag that whether it be a Trey young or whoever

They go after you know they can afford it we know how many draft picks they got first and second we know how much cash they have and we know how many young players they have on the roster that have very cont the contracts are very Team friendly so they can that’s what

Worries me I think the NBA knows other GMS know and they’re going to really stick to the Spurs you know you just W wmy you know and then you want we want us to help you in this move you know so there’s that so ultimately I you know there is smoke

Here you know we saw what happen in the All-Star break you know they were very chummy together yeah you know Trey young uh you know somebody asked a very slick question like oh what do you think the wimy needs you know to join to help yeah to help him San

Antonio and he pretty much described himself so and uh years ago uh Trey young U did an article at my former home um in the former TV newstation to work with saying like hey I like the Spurs I like San Antonio uh you know good organization there good franchise so

He’s never been shy about praising San Antonio ah but yeah no he would definitely be a tremendous uh player on this team I think he I think he does a quite a few things you mentioned the scoring uh I think one of the things that the Spurs

Lack right now is that clutch shooter oh yeah in the final minutes of a game right now they kind of struggle with that I think Devon could eventually be that I think Victor could eventually be that but right now um I think it would help them to have a veteran presence

That can hit those late threes uh you know hit hit those late shots um you know thing is the veteran presence uh he he’s he’s played long enough to where he’d be a veteran but he’s young enough to where he could be a part of this you

Know uh this team for years to come so you know like I said he he he’d be an absolutely tremendous get for them but like you said um it it depends on what they have to give up for him yeah now um he’s just so young he’s only what

25 and so you know perfect good to good build with this core he fits around their age and I also think that he’s he bring that peripheral benefit to San Antonio you know more eyes on San Antonio you know you can’t tell me there’ll be more National games with

Wimy and you know Trey young paired up and San Antonio playing against his former team and look at these you know that would just be Blockbuster ticket sales will will go up higher you know season tickets will go up more so we all know that kind of impact with it but

Interesting enough there so I looked at um his uh wind shares so basically for those who don’t know wind shares is an estimate of the number of winds contributed by a player so for example this season through 50 games played with the Hawks his win share total is 4.3 so

Where he helps Atlanta win about 4.3 games for his career it’s 37.2 win share so interesting interesting so you you factor his win share in with the wimes you know perhaps there’s something there uh it makes sense if he were to come to San Antonio what do you think would it

Be instant playin team for San Antonio or still rebuild mod because of maybe what they had to sacrifice to get him in Spurs colors yeah I think that’d be the big thing I think it’d be it would be depend on what they gave up um that’s

The other thing about it is if they trade away these assets you know uh there’s still there’s still other holes to fill on this team you know um the bench their bench needs work um you know they could always go out and do what they did in the past sign some

You know older veteran players to be on the bench um you know maybe some undrafted free agents or guys that have been waved or cut but they still need um you know bench players and U you know I I point to Oklahoma City again what they’ve been able to do all those draft

Picks that they got that’s why they’re their bench is so deep just because they’ve had so many draft picks and been able to to acquire so many different players to where you know they they can extend that bench just on you know just their first round draft picks I mean to

Me Oklahoma City’s got the best bench in in the NBA you know for me as far as you know just the diversity and what they can do and and how many you know different ways they can come at you and again that’s the draft pick so um so

Again that’s that’s why I’m hesitant on the the Trey trading everything for Trey young because you need those picks to build to sustain the team build the team and then you know to fortify that bench um so but as far as like a you know say

Best case scenario you know they make a good trade uh definitely play in I think um you know they keep the the basic core uh I’d see them you know top top five top six okay with the you know and then a year or two you know

Contending so but yeah he no he would definitely make them a playoff a play in either a playoff or a playin team yeah I I don’t I I can definitely see play in but I think at the bottom tier because I I know Atlanta’s gonna Stick it to San

Antonio I know it’s gonna happen and they’re gonna want those draft picks back or or maybe okay fine keep our draft picks but I’m making this up everybody throw in Sohan throw in Kellin throw in Devon you know something like that’s going to happen and that could disrupt uh the chemistry moving forward

Now look wimy and Trey will saw that chemistry issue immediately and you know just an eye test between those two guys I mean the pick and roll will be phenomenal the In-N-Out game you know we want to post up and get murdered by wimy

Go for it you want to hit him to push it back out to trade good luck defending him you know going for the three or cutting to the uh basket pick you know screen set by wimy you know the protection he’ll give him I mean it works great offensively and we know

Defensively when be will cure everything that happens that wrong on the defensive end um but yeah ultimately man somebody asked me buy or sell I’m going to go I’m gonna go byy I’m gonna say by yeah there’s probably is some interest there between the Spurs and uh well the Spurs trying to chase

Trey young your thoughts yeah me spurs you know always do their due diligence so they’re definitely gonna look into it um you know but I think it just has to be right I mean you know it’s Brian Wright is is sort of of leading this but

You know he obviously talks to to R and I’m sure you know pop has some influence as well so it’s just going to have to be um you know the right situation the right bit and uh you know I I I think I’ve mentioned this before Spurs are

Very good at um sort of planning for the future like they they they sort of know what they want to do or hopefully what they’re going to do uh I don’t think it was a coincidence that they tanked the year that L was about to come out you

Know I think they that um so you know they they seem to know kind of what’s upcoming what could possibly believe you know they look at the draft the salary cap they look at who’s going to be free agent so um this is going to have to

Sense um but what we were talking about earlier I believe Trey Trey young is part of Louis Vuitton too isn’t he or oh that saw I thought I saw an ad or something with with you know look look look at real connecting the dots right here okay

Allar game Trey young says this about San Anton oh Louis Vuitton and wimy and Trey young I see where you’re going with it I like it I like it so but um you know that that’d be great for for obviously Victor and the Spurs but um you know just talking about the all-star

Weekend I was I was honestly surprised that that Victor didn’t get more more votes you know um him being an international star him being so popular on social media obviously you know San Antonio and then you got the fr the French Connection as well um I think he

Finished seventh seventh or eighth in All-Star voting I thought he’d be at least top four um so I’m not sure why more people didn’t vote for him but I’m hoping uh you know for his sake and for the Spurs sake you know that that they do get a

Little bit more attention so that way Victor gets you you know uh the things that he deserves like right you know I think if Victor’s in a big would have been in a bigger Market say New York or La he he def to me I think there’s no

Question he he would have been an All-Star starter in terms of fan boting so um you know hopefully things like this the the campaign the other things that Victor’s doing and you know Spurs start getting more successful that that he’ll start getting uh more of the accolades because you know the big three

For for every that they did they didn’t get the recognition that they deserved until after they retired right yeah yeah exactly and you know again welcome to the new era of the Spurs this this whole Louis Vuitton thing and whatnot during the big three era it was pretty much

Non-existent you the maybe the closest you got was Tony and but it didn’t go to this level Tim just love playing basketball you know he wanted I think Tim was this was more of a a not a job to him but you know um something that he

Just did uh I think Tim didn’t like the attention I think Tim just wanted to be himself play basketball go home play some video games and you know great great guy great guy but he just know he wasn’t in it for the spotlight you know um yeah

I don’t I don’t think Victor’s in for the spotlight as well but I think Victor realizes that this is part of it I think he understands that you know the spotlight the commercials the appearances the uh you know additional things I think he understands this is part of sort of

Finally because you hear Raul’s phone buzzing we gotta let him go soon um interesting uh interview Zack Collins had with the spokesman review uh he told that outlet that yes he enjoys playing with WM he’s impressed with his work ethic uh you know how how

Beyond he is as a rookie you know the impact he’s made on Court you know he he said like hey wimy does get enough credit for his passing ability yay wimy yay Zach I think we all see this but interesting he threw in a little bit extra acknowledging that yeah that Zack

Collins is now on the bench and he started the C year pairing up with wmy in the starting five that didn’t happen now he’s hoping to end the season playing more with wimy let’s just say Zack Collins has been The Whipping Boy for Spurs fan base it’s entire season I

Put that out there I sure enough got the reaction that I kind of suspected would happen but you we were talking about the Zach and wimy pairing you felt it could have worked if if certain things happened what did you mean by that um I think it could have worked better I

Don’t know if it would something they could have sustained but we’re talking about it like I always found a bit strange that you had two seven foot guys and they were both I think a lot of times I’d see both of them behind the three-point line you know on offense

Like um I kind of look down and you see you know Jeremy come down and then you see U Zach on on I think Zach was usually in the corner I believe or on along the sides and then Victor was at top the three-point line um I was always

Kind of surprised I figured it might work better if Zach was say in the low post and Victor was outside and maybe they played sort of kind of a high low game um because like when when David and and Timmy played together you always had

Uh Dave would usually be at the top of the key and then uh Timmy would be you know um they on the you know um on the side you know for his little Bank shots and stuff um you know but but David A lot of times David would sort of Feed

The offense you know he’d sort of be like a high high post passer um obviously neither one of them really shot three-pointers but I know I always kind of always thought that Zach and big might work if it was something similar to that uh but again like a lot of times

I’d see both of them at the three-point line I’m thinking like okay well who’s going to rebound who you know who’s going to um you know be down there to sort of uh pass the ball outside or whatever you know and usually it’d be you know I think at that time it was

Kellin and um I can’t remember can’t remember who were Kell and Deon you know were the ones who were sort of passing to the outside or whatever um I still think it it might work work at at times and stuff if they did that maybe kind of

A high low because Zach Zach’s a hell of a passer too you know he Zach loves those little bounce passes when someone’s cutting into the basket oh he is yeah I think he’d be great at do and you know he’s avering a career high oh no I was like he’s averaging a career

High in assist this season yeah he’s a tremendous passer I think that’s underrated U part aspect of his game but I think he’d be good at doing some lobs for Aly oops to to Victor as well yeah I think it could work but not if both of

Them are both uh you know standing outside the three-point line uh you know a lot because again that takes away from who’s going to get the offensive rebound you know who’s gonna maybe do s of that that high low um and again Victor and and Zach are both tremendous passers I’d

Love to see them you know sort of get used to each other and sort of do some of these passes you know because uh I I don’t think Zach would have a problem getting Victor and alyu pass and I think I think at times Spurs have problems

With that as far as maybe not passing it high enough maybe not getting it to him at the right time I think was Zach’s because he’s a little taller and a good passer I think he I think he could he could have some uh tremendous plays with

Victor yeah absolutely I looked at some of the numbers with on and off those on and off numbers and net ratings all that good stuff so uh when wimy and Zach are on the court together uh I think the net rating that factors in the offensive

Defensive rating was was like at a minus 14 so when wimy was on the court and Zach was off the court um the net rating between the two dropped dropped up I guess to a minus four so clearly you know it it made sense to move you know

Zach to the bench but you know look at this this point of the season does it really matter if they’re play together I you know it’s gonna be a short next couple weeks of the season I think what Spurs have maybe like what 30 games left or some of that or something

You know something just something to experiment I’m not talking about maybe I’m not talking about having Zach back in the starting lineup but I think I’d love to see them play together you know five maybe five minutes five minute burst or something you know just kind of

See what they they can do I mean again you know I think the other thing is with with Zach and Victor is like they didn’t have a you know Jeremy struggle at point guard you know so whatever he had on the court at the time was going to struggle

You know yeah exactly and um uh but maybe Zach will get his wish you know with just 30 games left so who knows I mean you know could we we probably are GNA see a huge change in lineup roster next season who knows if Zach gets

Dealed you know as far as uh the Spurs making roster moves but let’s just say everybody Spurs fans did not like what Zach had to say big old Bugs Bunny meme with him saying no you know right immedately start flying up everywhere if you want to check out that article and
