Bulls Had a Good 2nd Quarter….and That Was it
Well the Bulls had a great second quarter one of the better quarters we’ve seen from them this season against the best team in the NBA at that but if only that counted for something though because the other three quarters of this game the Bulls were actually terrible if
Only the Bulls could actually play well and hard for the full 48 minutes that would be something wouldn’t it would it be too much for us to ask of that as fans that said though the Bulls are very short-handed I mentioned in my last video that you’re going to see just how
Much the Bulls are going to miss the size of both Patrick Williams and Tory Craig their only Power forwards on the team and you saw that in full swing tonight when you had guys like Luke cornette getting open dunks and easy put back rebounds because the Bulls are
Having to go so small in some of their lineups also just so fitting to have a former bull someone who was absolute trash when he was with the bulls to now having one of his better games on the season against the Bulls years later but anyway yeah not the best way to kick
Things off after the All-Star break again they’re playing the best team in the NBA we know it’s going to be a struggle without Pat and Tory Craig and of course Zack LaVine but this still was not a good showing from the Bulls Bulls came out found themselves down quickly
In a lackluster effort off the Jump I believe they fell behind as many as 16 to kick things off in the first quarter they close out the first quarter nicely going on an 80 run then they have that great second quarter playing some great defense getting stops finally hitting
Their shots getting the energy level back up they go into the locker room at halftime with the momentum and lead and then coming out of the break everything kind of crumbled from there the Boston Celtics kicked off the third quarter on an 80 run and ended finishing the Bulls
Off in the third out scoring them 37-21 and never really looked back after that I think the thing that disappointed me most from this game was that the bulls actually beat out the Celtics in terms of number of possessions so their Pace was a lot better they ended up
Getting 11 more shots in this game than the Celtics did they outworked the season the offensive glass but the Celtics were just much more efficient when they were on offense they are the best team on offense in the NBA B’s defense was solid in the second quarter
But outside of that they either looked completely lost on D or didn’t seem to care making an effort on that end of the floor Boston I mean like I said they’re a great offensive team but to light them up like that lighting the Bulls up like
That from Deep shooting 23 for 47 from downtown is unacceptable too many switches where that led to bad mismatches where you had guys like vuich guarding Tatum or brown or Kobe white on porzingis not good reads on the screens a lot of misc and letting guys cut back
Door for an easy two and quite frankly it’s how the Celtics put up 129 points on you guys man it was a block party out there for Boston tonight V getting swatted IO Kobe no man was safe in this one that was another problem in this
Game both dear and Kobe started out very slow they struggled to get their offense going and even though they picked things up in the second half it was a little too late dear finished the game with 19 points on seven for 17 four rebounds five assists Kobe kind of a brutal game
For him yes he scored 20 points shot four for n from deep but 6 for 17 overall just could not finish at the basket with the length size and strength of the Boston Celtics in the paint Kobe was a minus 26 in this game been saying those minutes that he’s been tallying
Throughout the year are going to catch up to him both for him and Demar de Rosen which is why it made no sense to me at all that Demar and Kobe were still out there in this game with less than five minutes to go and Boston was up 19
I know in today’s NBA you can come back in any game in a hurry and no lead is safe even with 5 minutes left in the contest but you’re not coming back against the best team in the NBA in that short period of time when you’re already short-handed there’s just no reason to
Leave your starters out there at that point and there’s no reason Demar and Kobe should have played 36 minutes in a blowout game like this none vuic had a great first half I believe at halftime he had 20 points and nine rebounds and missed all but two shots but the second
Half not so much and I talked about how vvi needing to be so much better post All-Star break is going to be so critical for the Bulls in this final stretch I talked about that in my video from earlier this morning on the five things we need to see from the Bulls
Post All-Star break but in the second half he was pretty terrible a lot of empty possessions trying to get his shots to fall down in the paint some point blank misses off layups like yes the stat sheet looks good 22 points 14 rebounds 10 for 19 overall but minus 18
When he was on the floor four turnovers and still cannot shoot threes to save his life IO had a solid game was even flirting with a triple double here in the won 14 points seven rebounds eight assists I’ve said this before but if there is nothing else to look forward to
For the rest of the season and preparing ourselves for another play in tournament at least we can look forward to watching the development and growth of Kobe white and IOD dumu because even though Kobe didn’t have a good game tonight what has been promising as it relates to the
Bulls future is seeing the positives and upside of these young players and making this season a little more bearable because from here on out that’s going to be the thing I’m watching most is seeing how these two young guys no pck Patrick Williams if he returns seeing these guys
Develop into the players we need them to be for the future of this team and knowing that we got them on value contracts for the next three seasons and also speaking of Youth great minutes from uh rookie Julian Phillips tonight 18 minutes we know we need him to step
Up and fill that void with no power forwards in the lineup yeah he still makes rookie mistakes here and there yeah he needs to get bigger and stronger but he stays ready and when he’s out there he hustles gives it his all and actually makes an impact on the court 18
Minutes 9 points on four for five from the floor even Dal Terry had some nice minutes out there as well I mean these guys are going to get more opportunities guys who have been out of the rotation for most of the Season they’re going to find themselves getting some big minutes
As long as Craig and Patrick Williams remain out of the lineup what stings is you have the Orlando Magic win tonight which further cements the Bulls back into that ninth spot making it much more unlikely for them to somehow find their way into the top eight to at least have
Two shots to win their way into the playoffs and even more unlikely when when you look at the rest of the bull schedule going up against some of the tougher teams in the league they got the Pelicans up next in New Orleans before coming back home to take on the Pistons
That’ll be one of their easier games which let’s be honest is never a gimme win considering the Bulls lost to the Pistons earlier this year and they meaning the Pistons have been playing a lot better as of late we’ll see how things go from here on out though I just
Hope the Bulls can somehow beat the Golden State Warriors when they come to the Bay because you guys know I’ll be in attendance at that game as I do every season anyway let me know what you guys thought of this game in the comments tonight as always be sure to subscribe
And I will see you guys in the next one

They always tease us. Can’t believe we let Derrick White cook us and Luke Kornet dab on us
Not going to have a shot to win if derozan AND coby have poor games. Especially not against the celtics.
was at this game
It’s weird that we’re consistently inconsistent, how many times is it going to be a 1 quarter performance
Imagine if our role guys were playing this good with a healthy roster😮💨 to say that was the 1 seed my bulls put up a fight until Tatum decided he had enough 😂
I knew the Bulls would lose I just knew that the Celtics would be a tough matchup for them, The Bulls had the lead at the half but they just couldn't hold on to it
The only way to fix this team is to hope that Jerry one day hopefully soon sells. That's the first step. Second is to fire AK/ME aka Gar/Pax 2.0 Third, fire Billy and fourth is to rebuild. Keep Cody, Williams, that's good. Trade everybody else. This entire organization is a disgrace and has been an embarrassment to the fans since Rose first tore his ACL. Dusty banners clearly haven't convinced any superstars that this team is the right fit. Us fans have been living the definition of insanity since the 98 chip.
At least the first half was “competitive…” 🤷♂️
I think if we had jokic we would have been still a play in team 😢
Never giving any more time for Drummond 😮💨
3rd quarter i watched at chili's the refs eas cheating us pushing the narrative as u will 😉😏💯
It's time to address the real problem of the Chicago Bulls — Jerry Reinsdorf. The Bulls might, in fact, be a pretty good team if we didn't have massive injuries to Ball, Lavine, P-Will, Craig. But the fact is they are injured. When Lonzo went down for two years we should have immediately gone after a quality rental that was available (like Westbrook or Brunson or Chris Paul or Kyrie, etc) until we could reevaluate him or moved on.. We were down a super important player, but we did nothing to replace him. This season, when Zach went down for an extended period we should have started looking around for a quality replacement. When Craig went down the first time we should have immediately got a quality replacement. We were already super thin around the basket and undersized. When Zach went down a second time and was out for the season, a sense of urgency to find a replacement should have propelled acquisition of someone to replace his skill set. That same sense of urgency should have happened when P-Will went out for an extend period of time and increased to DefCon 5 when Craig went down a second time. We have a power forward problem we did not address over the summer. Craig was a great acquisition, but not enough. What I am trying to say is that 4 of our 8 best guys (Ball, Zach, Craig, P-Will) are out and we have done nothing to replace them. Nor did we really replace DJJ or Jevonte Green (who we could really use right now as we are that thin at forward). We also let Pat Bev go and got Jevon Carter instead, even though Pat Bev resurrected our season last year. Why did we let him go? He asked for two much money and once he figured out what was going on around here would have called the culprits out. Jerry operates in secrecy (secretly extending Billy is an example of that — do you really think it was Arturas and Marc's idea to extend an unpopular coach in a furtive, unsavory, sneaky manner that they must have know would reflect back on them? I am guessing Jerry ordered them to do it that way) In the midst of all this we resigned Vuch, White and Ayo. All the while remaining under the salary cap and not even using our Ball long-term injury exception. Now what does all this mean? A lot of people have blamed the players. A lot of people have blamed Arturas and Eversely. Certainly they bear some responsibility. But the players are who they are. Everyone knew that. They give the best ofwhat skills they have, and as a player it must be pretty crushing to lose all those key pieces to injury and receive no reinforcements for them. The players are playing with heavy hearts and high anxiety. We might not have been able to win even with Ball, Zach, Craig, P-Will. But we certainly cannot win without them, and — more importantly — when no replacements are forthcoming. The Bulls organization claim they want to win now, but clearly they don't care that much about it, as proven by the fact that no reinforcements were forthcoming. Now we are all quick to blame Arturas and Eversley. But what if their hands were tied? What if Jerry said, "look you got Vuch, Ayo and White back, and Craig and Jevon in free agency. That's it, were done, we aren't going over the cap." Maybe they were forced to re-sign those 3 guys because Jerry was not interested in going out and testing the market, simply because they are a proven commodity that are just good enough for what Jerry has in mind. Now what does Jerry have in mind? Simply to make money. He doesn't give a shit about the Bulls (or the Sox). He just wants the cash. And he figures the team he has is enough to keep the fans hopeful and interested and fill up the seats and the advertisement and merchandise revenue flowing. The Bulls brand is still one of the most valuable in all of sports. Jerry is still profiting off Michael. Just look at Bulls Central and the rest of us on here: we have remained interested and watching the games all season. The Bulls are (for now) in the play in. Jerry knows the Bulls getting in the play in is enough to fill up seats and continue to bring in his advertising revenues. He is not willing to pay for the Superstars every team needs to get The Chip. And never has been since the Dynasty Era (Jerry Krause is underrated — though his arrogance doomed us in the end, no other GM has been able to get any significant teams built under Reinsdorf). He is not willing to go over the salary cap for those great guys we need because that eats into his profits. Maybe when Vuch, Caruso and DeRozan were brought in, and we finally got a somewhat decent coach, he felt that was enough to keep the seats full. Maybe Arturas and Eversley were tricked into thinking those acquisitions were just the beginning, when in fact that was all Jerry was good for the whole time. Resigning guys like Zach, Ayo, White and and probably P-Will are Jerry's insurance that he will have a few decent guys to start with when Vuch, Caruso and DeRozan are gone. It can't be that Gar-Pax and now Arturas-Eversley are both guilty of the same kinds of issues: hiring shitty coaches, not acquiring proven players, poorly fitting personnel, stagnation, etc. Jerry hung on to the previous two coaches like he is hanging on to Billy. Why? Maybe the price is right, and they are at least a superficially acceptable group of coaches. Maybe Billy wants better assistants but Jerry refuses to pay for them. And Jerry knows this is not going to come out because it goes against NBA protocols of keeping everything in house. That and Jerry dangles firing them over their heads. For too long under too many administrations and too many changes in players, the Bulls have been mediocre. It has to be the system Jerry has put in place. Look what happened with Thibs. Thibs is one of the best coaches in the NBA, but as soon as he demanded accountability from Jerry he was gone. The two Jerry's were even willing to fire MJ, Phil and Scottie to maintain their total control. I felt so sorry for the guys at the end of today's Boston loss. You could see on their faces and with their body language that they feel despondent and hopeless. All Jerry cares about is the money. And as long as the Bulls are just good enough to keep the rabid fanbase interested the money is going to keep coming in at almost the same amount as if we were actually contenders, so there is no need for Jerry to move the needle. In fact it goes against his profit margin. There are two solutions to this problem: one is temporary, the other permanent. Either we boycott the games and merchandise until something changes dramatically within the organisation and we get some winning teams out there with a chance at the Finals, or Jerry gets bought out. If we boycott maybe he makes some moves and we are good for awhile, then he pulls the same shit (I know Riensdorf is old, but his sons seem cut from the same cheap, deceitful cloth). So, we need a billionaire to make him an offer he can't refuse. And in the meantime we boycott. I have been blaming the players, the coaches, the front office, but tonight I actually felt sorry for them. These are a great bunch of guys and really good basketball players, some of whom should be moved to the second team as soon as a couple genuinely Superstar players are moved in to take the reins. I don't want to see these guys go, I just want them playing behind a couple true, consistent, clutch Superstars. Deep teams win championships. Do you really want to run DeRozan out of town? He is playing the most minutes in the NBA this year, Vuch is playing the most of his career, Caruso is giving it his all, White is 100% committed on every play. I like these guys, but they need some better players they can compliment. And maybe Billy needs some better assistants. We could definitely use some better assistant coaches if Billy has to stay. I have grown to like Billy, but the obvious solution to our coaching woes is Budenholzer. However, the Bulls will never get anywhere without a new owner, or an owner that is scared of the power of his fanbase and knows he has to deliver. It's not the players fault, the team is under staffed even when healthy, and we have lost key guys to injury with no attempt to bridge their loss. I would like to see DeRozan resigned and end his career as a Bull. After all I have said it is not just about winning, but legacy. Seeing DeRozan's jersey in the rafters after another three years here would add to the Bulls legend and he would have put his imprint on countless younger guys coming up. We don't win by subtraction but addition. The Lakers are never rebuilding, the Celtics are never rebuilding. Neither is Miami. Can we really withstand more decades of rebuilding unsuccessfully? We are down on the coach and the players, but they can only work with what the front office gives them, and the front office can only do what Jerry approves. Jerry has got to go or at least be shaken to the core by our wrath. Nothing will change until this is accomplished. Same goes for the Sox and Bears — these owners are predators preying on the fans, the players, the coaches, the front-office and the city of Chicago. The Windy City deserves better and we have the power to make it happen. Fuck Jerry. Go Bulls!
The Bulls are not on the Celtics level. I believe that the Celtics will win the championship this year due to how they are communicating on the floor. Tatum will be the face of the NBA after Steph, Lebron and KD retires. The Bulls must make some big changes in the offseason to change their culture for the better. The front office and current coach is the problem. This Bulls team once again is not good enough. The franchise has to get better.
