I agree to an extent but this only flies with the fanbase when things are going good. As soon as we lose a game, Heat fans will complain about Bam not being “aggressive”
Which is pretty much what Bam has been trying to go for since Terry trade went through.

i think there needs to be a balance cuz theres times where he’s too passive and passing out of paint shots which is fine when the 3s go in but we know how cold they can get

Bam is not a naturally aggressive scorer. Yes, this is something he could grow into, and yes, we have won games when he dominates. But think of this core when you’ve seen it at its best. It’s when Jimmy takes over, the shooters capitalize on spacing, and Bam’s primary actions are DHO/PnR. The middy and post games are useful tools for his bag, and his secondary scoring is great to get a bucket when the offense is stuck, but it should not be relied on
Bam will never be the 25ppg scorer fans want him to be. It’s a miracle he can average 20 with he’s lack of touch at the rim and no 3 pointer. Being a better Draymond was always he’s bag

Why not both? Finding the balance is the step. I’d argue he’s starting to figure it out now.
If Bam is a hub against a defense that sags on him because they want him to shoot the paint is clogged, he doesn’t’ get Jimmy and Caleb back cuts at all. He does however in that situation get guys open 3s especially Duncan, that’s why that is our best play. He needs to take middy’s and hit them or else our paint gets super clogged.
What I would experiment with if I was Spo is the high pick and roll with Bam shooting 3s rather than Mid range, I believe it’s easier to hit 34% from 3 than 70%+ from that mid range shot, I could even see Bam getting 36% from those spots.

I disagree. Heat are statistically their best when Duncan and Bam are running the PnR.
This is true. But also requires more adept scoring guards/wings to spearhead the offense. Herro has been taking it up out of necessity but he’s not efficient enough to be the lead scorer imo.
Jimmy shifting into gear, moving on from Kyle and incorporating Rozier should all pay dividends to balance out the offensive approach and allow bam to be more of a hub. They just need time for the moving pieces to find rhythm.
With all that said, when Bam is operating as a hub he still has to be ready to punish defenses when they’re playing off him as a scorer
Bam does all of those things while scoring 21. If he didn’t the Heat would score like 40pts a game.
Yeah homey will be 4 ft from the rim and instead of using his unlimited athleticism and just dunking that shit and going hard in the paint, he passes it off with 2 seconds left on the shot clock, or does a fadeaway. These are the moments I refer to when I say he needs to be more aggressive at times.
Plain as day for anyone who follows the Heat. I wish he would just park his ass back on the high post. Dribble handoff to Dunc is money. The two man game with Herro was looking nice last season. And we now have one of the best PGs in the league at potentially playing the pick and roll with him.
