The nba needs to swallow their whistle on plays like this where the offensive player is initiating the contact. Calling this a defensive foul is literally ruining the game at this point.

Timberwolves shot a total of 1 ft in the entire second half.
Giannis 21 fts – Wolves + every other Bucks player 17 fts.
Man was on a mission to throw his body around that game.

I will say atleast the refs are consistent with calls like this but how is it a foul?? What is Kat supposed to do here? I guarantee if we had a challenge they woulda said Kat “wasn’t in legal guarding position “

Which is why ant becoming a face of the league is so important, faces and guys in the MVP races get taken care of.

Ugh makes me so mad, the nba awards all these guys fouls for initiating contact like this

And without a terrible 3rd quarter we kick their ass despite this kinda bull shit.
On to the next game, we good, just clean up the inept stretches of ball that still occur too frequently.

There has to be some sort of rule change. I don’t blame Giannis, Embiid, Jimmy, Harden, etc for being foul merchants. You play within the rules to maximize your chances of winning the game.
But damn man, that’s not basketball. When I go hoop at the gym, I’m not throwing my body into defenders to draw fouls. I’m not doing ripthroughs to try and get them to slap my arm. I’m trying to jack up wild threes and drive in to make *buckets*.
The thing I love about Wolves basketball is that our guys are trying to actually play the game. Ant isn’t driving with the intent to get fouled, but he’s driving with the intent to get a bucket. That’s why he is a league leader in And-1’s, because he’s actually trying to fucking score, not just trying to get fouled. Naz rarely draws fouls but we love him because it’s so damn fun to watch him drive, spin, and score.
This sort of intentional foul baiting contact is what’s ruining the game and making it less watchable. Nobody wants free throw contests. We want to see fast paced back and forth action. I want to see guys running the floor in transition and watching offenses trying to break down defenses to get buckets.

Went to my first nba game in years and couldn’t believe how late his whistles were yesterday. To those watching, could you tell this from watching on tv?? It was a joke
