BR Hoops Mock Draft. Give us your opinion RIP City!

This is an updated Mock Draft from J. Wasserman. He’s saying that we take Ron Holland and Donovan Clingan. What do you think?
I saw RH at the LSI & thought he was pretty good but nothing since then. Not too familiar with DC.

If Cody is available at 5 (assuming that’s where we land) I don’t see how we pass on him.

  2. BunkHammer

If Cody and Salaun are available at our picks and we pass I’ll be leaving Joe a strongly worded negative yelp review

Holland wasn’t having a great year and now he’s shut down for injury. That to me leaves too much up to chance. We already drafted Shaedon without seeing him play much against higher competition (and that may still be a great choice), but this is a bridge too far for me.

  4. SPAREustheCUTTER

We’re sliding to 4. We’re in ultimate tank mode, guys. And we’re 1 game ahead of Charlotte. Guess who we play Sunday?

  5. edwinportland

we are the most unluckiest team ! always !

  6. Rancesj1988

Eh, I would rather take Cody Williams. He seems like the safer pick between him and Ron.

Trade down and get Filipowski (or Edey or Clingan) unless we can trade up and get Sarr. Probably not a popular opinion but stock up on big men until one really hits…as that position is running the league and the future starts with having someone that can somewhat contain Wemby

  8. TrailBlazingShinobi

Ayy, if we draft Ron over Cody I’d lose all faith in Cronin

  9. TheRealFakeDoors503

I’d draft Cody over Ron solely so we can pair him with Bari. Some schools draft Nova guys, some Duke guys. Portland drafts University of Colorado guys.

  10. I would take and be happy with any of the following with our first pick:

    Sarr, Risacher, Buzelis, Holland, Williams

  11. jason90210

Cody Williams over Holland all day if it’s there.

  12. choonghuh

Completely sold on Risacher. I’d look to package the 2 picks to move up for him if necessary. Love the catch and shoot 3 percentage, his size, and defensive instincts that scream Klay Thompson in a forwards frame.

Ignite guys kinda look like a stay away this year with inconsistency and poor shooting numbers. I’m convinced that Filipowski sucks ass and would rather take the Baylor center with our second pick. Not very high on Sarr either.

I think Williams is a better bet than Holland.

But Holland is a good player.

Right now I think it is Sarr > Risacher >Williams> Buzelis > Holland

  14. Comprehensive_War983

If we landed these 2 it would be an elite and successful draft

  15. YoungSuplex

I like Holland but if Cody is there he’s a no brainer

Let’s get C Dub, trade for one of the twins, and run the NBA Brothers from other mothers brothers squad.

Cody isn’t perfect, just watch the USC game.

Holland is really good, but I worry he is a poor fit. We need shooting at the 3. In order for me then. I think we are well positioned to get two of these guys.

Sarr – too much potential to pass on, especially since we’ll need a counter to Wemby. Imagine him and Flagg?

Risacher – I haven’t watched him, but his highlights, stats, and profile suggest he is an MPJ type, which is what we need. He also has upside given how young he is

Buzelis – The more I watch, the more I like him. He is getting better and better. He hasn’t shot great, but low sample and is improving. I’m convinced he’ll be a net positive on defense, be highly switchable, good passer, dribbler and be a great off ball player. If he finishes the season strong I think he goes top 3.

Cody Williams – I like his game, but worry he is a poor man’s Brandon Miller. I would love if we got him, but depending on how he finishes, I rate him lower than Buzelis

If we fall past 4, then I think these guys are in play, or in play for the warriors pick depending on how it shakes out. We might also be able to trade up by packaging our second round picks, Brogdon, Thybulle, etc.

Holland – I worry he is a bad fit with Scoot, but is the prototype of what the Blazers want – athleticism, motor, etc. I think he can play the 3, and if those other guys are off the board I am okay with Holland. Could be a fouls merchant.

Furphy – I really like his game, similar to Buzelis in a lot of ways, but less of a rim protector and less switchable. Still, he is a knockdown shooter.

    Castle – Similar to Holland

Missi – We will need a rim running big. He is a bit of a project, but if we move off Williams he would be a good long term replacement.

Tyler Smith – More of a 4 and less upside than all these guys, but will be a solid role player and fits easily as a pick and pop big with Scoot. Short term would really help our spacing if we slide Grant to the 3.

Knect – I think he can play the 3 and will be a great 6th man. We need scoring and shooting. He feels like the Jacques of this draft.

Clingan – Worry about his injuries, but definitely worth it at the warriors pick.

Salaun – I’m not as sold on him, but haven’t watched him play. We have a similar project in Rupert and I’m not sure how many really raw Frenchmen we want on the team. Looking forward to watching more.

I’m probably wrong but I hope we aren’t a such an infant stage of the rebuild that they’ll use both picks. I feel like they are already plenty young with plenty of upside so it’s time to take a freaking swing. But like I said I’m probably wrong and Cronin will give his typical “we like where we are” speak and I’ll continue to buy league pass and still watch all of the games

  19. chzformymac

Na. Both of those names don’t sound like nba ballers. Please give us someone else

  20. EvanTurningTheCorner

I am not a fan of Holland. First, his perimeter shooting is nonexistent, meaning he needs to be paired with floor stretching 4s and 5s (Which we don’t really have many of). He’s also not even close to 6’8. Dude is 6’6 tops.

Honestly the one player he reminds me of most is Thomas Robinson. I want nothing to do with that.

Clingan is just a braindead pick. Dude is like a mediocre big even at best, and he’s had multiple foot injuries at 19. Hell the fuck no. It’s like people see UCONN winning games and just decide to draft the tallest player on the team because he must be the reason? No fuckin way. You gotta be joking.

Give me Williams, Buzelis or Salaun or GTFOH. Hell I’d take Filipowski over either of these dudes and I don’t even like Filipowski.

  21. Maclanethurston

Have you seen the Sarr highlights? Kevin Garnett anyone?

  22. Wild-Exchange6257

I agree 100% that we should take Cody. However, Mike Schmitz is better at this than I am, and if he wants Holland, I’ll be behind it.

  23. True-Sky3981

Reed Sheppard is the best player in this draft. We don’t need him at his position but we could trade one of our guards and maybe get him and another starter 🤷‍♂️

  24. peakchungus

I prefer Cody Williams to Holland by far.

  25. BigPoppaPump_OHYEAH

Rather have Williams vs Holland. Clingan I’m totally on board with! Perfect would be getting #1 and getting Sarr and then as Brandon Sprague mentioned on Jacked Ramseys Capture the Flagg!

Scoot, Shaedon, ???, Flagg, Sarr would be real nice core to go into the future with. Grant could move to the 3 until we find our long term 3 that’s on the others timeline. Ayton, Bari, Murray, Rupert and whatever gems Schmidt can find in the 2nd would fill out the roster.

I wouldn’t be mad about Scoot, Shaedon, Williams, Flagg and Clingan either.

  26. My opinion? It’s too early to have mock drafts

  27. Western-Turnover-154

Ron Holland as the SF of the future would be a great fit!
