I am at work, a coworker told me to tune in to the game because the Grizzlies are winning against the #1 seed!
“I expected them to be down 40” he said.
“Nah, they’ll keep it close all game and then lose by 8 in the last 2 minutes” I said. So close.
Quality win for the tank, play hard enough to remember what it’s like to be competitive, but still made sure we kept that sweet sweet draft position.

Positives – Jaren’s boards, playing Gobert off the floor, forcing Ant to play 40 minutes in regulation (dude barely came out in the second half), and Z having some moments including offensive boards
Negatives – really bad second half indecisive turnovers, finishing at the rim on floaters, and chucking at the end of the game from 3
Everyone was exhausted at the end of the that one. Putting Ant on Jaren was smart because no ref is going to call a foul everytime on all the contact Ant was giving. They could have easily but I think they only called him for 2 fouls when it was super blatant. Naz Reid fouled Jaren 3 times in about 6 minutes of game action in the second half. That stuff just wears you down over time.
Losses always hurt but this was a damn good effort and the dudes were gassed in the last 5-6 minutes. Can’t ask for too much more from the situation right now. Floaters going in would’ve been nice though.
It’s really great that Jaren gets to develop his offensive game, he’ll hopefully become a real threat as a 2nd/3rd option on offense next year
The real question now is do we go full tank mode against the Blazers for two games, win em both, or gentleman’s split?
**Some postgame thoughts…**
**• I’ve been begging for Trip to rebound more, so I’ll give credit where credit is due.**
Led all rebounders. Not only that but he grabbed 4 offensive rebounds, too. That’s big. He really came out to play.
**• A handful of Grizzlies plus a bunch of two-ways and GLeagers gave it to the no.1 team in the West.**
It’s hard to overstate how big this is. Like, the fact is that it should have been a blowout but wasn’t. Not all of the players who laced up as Grizzlies tonight will be around next year but those who are will mean we have the most dangerous 2nd and 3rd units in the League. Who’s going to beat us next year when they can barely beat the guys who are on the end of our bench when we’re healthy?
**• Jake LaRavia led all scorers, too…**
What I meant to say is: “*Jake had the lowest +/- of anyone who scored any points.*” Stand out in whatever way you can, Jake. Whatever way you can…
**• Jordan Goodwin is trying to shoot his way into a long term position…**
He’s trying… it would just be nice if he made his shots? I do love that he made a positive impact in other ways though, working hard on the boards and making assists, though. Even had a couple of steals. That’s promising.
**• 23 more games to go…**
TANK you ver much!
“final” 😔
Minny fans had to stand up through their teams first timeout and did not win a free chicken sandwich if you’re wondering why they all seem mad at the Griz for this one.
Another solid game for Z, glad that he’s been able to carry over his momentum from before the break. Funny how Ja’s return made everyone remember that he’s effective as a lob threat
Gotta love seeing Ziare playing ball again. Ever since GG started popping off he’s got his mojo back and has been performing fairly consistently. I’d love if we keep him and see how he develops alongside this new talent, it seems to have lit a fire under everyone’s asses and I’m definitely excited for next year!!
# Awe yeah, it seems that we aren’t *that* ass
* Only lost by 9, huge W for the boys
* **JJJ** realised he’s tall today and decided to grab rebounds. He also dropped 33 to celebrate the release of an album & midwxst feature (still cant believe that’s a thing, i love midwxst)
* **GG**’s still doing good
* Just your average **Vince** game, equally spreading stats across the box score
* I loved **Ja**’s reaction to Rudy airballing a free throw
it’s called a soup kitchen
Jordan Goodwin has been electric the past 3 games he’s played. Might not look like it on the stat sheet but he does the little things right… and he plays big in the PnR and has great rebounding IQ. Think he could be a viable backup behind Ja next year. I get the shooting isn’t there but with GG development I’m fine wit it
