Bruce Brown came in over hyped and over paid. Other than once being on a chip winner he doesn't fit with the Raptors. Once he goes downhill he gets tunnel vision just like Trent. If either had the ability to power through like RJ they would be fine. What is really sad is that since the trade deadline passed, there has been an uptick in Bruce's effort and it simply does make a difference. I'm hoping Raptors can trade him for more than a third round draft pick (humor), come this summer.

No player is perfect but not playing Boucher is a travesty. He brings intangibles, most notably, he brings energy and swings momentum. DR is probably a great teach but can't read the room!
BROWN had done nothing for us but let's be honest here, he hasn't fit in. He's been solid on Denver. He may have fit that system well. We should have flipped him foe a pick. He would have probably been better off.

The Raptors always frustrate their fans play some scrub who doesn’t deserve minutes and is a poor fit. If it’s not Flynn, Achiuwa, or Schroder it’s Bruce Brown. Yes I understand it will tank his value and you might have to not pick up his $23m option next season and lose him for nothing but they need to shut down Brown’s season. Play Boucher in his place or even Mc Daniel’s.

Masai again hang on on some assets too long. He will have hard time to trade him this offseason and perhaps may have to let him walk if no one wants his overpaid contract.

A bunch of fans were freaking out, thinking that the Raps had turned the corner on a very disappointing season. I'm still on Team Tankathon, so this loss didn't bother me much, because we battled for at least the 1st half of the game. The one thing that continues to drive me crazy is the embarrassing FT shooting from our starters (and closing lineup): Poeltl, Scottie and RJ. You aren't going to win many games with that recipe. It's seems to be a red flag, and I think our opponents know this. Hack those 3, and you will likely win the game. With the exception of Charlotte, we have a difficult stretch coming up. If I were a betting man, the safe money would be on a 4 game losing streak for this team. Let's get that 1st round pick back from SA.

The Raps r trying to retain their protected pick from the Spurs folks. Just relax. If all goes according to plan, they'll end up a bottom 5 team with a solid chance at being a 2nd round playoff contender next summer. It's a pretty reasonable trajectory.
I not happy about Browns play either, I also was fairly sure we could get a solid pick and player for him at deadline. I know Masai should have traded the guys sooner (Bet on yourself crowd) but I just don't know how we were doing any better when Siakam tanked his value. Brown and some picks was the best we were getting, although D Hunter and picks seems better by the day. I just don't know if we write this off just yet. Everytime we jump at every little thing then 6 months later its makes you look stupid (Not I, I never overreact, burned me too much in younger years). Who is to say Brown isn't about to do that same thing. Gradey Dick was useless, now no one is saying that. Worst player in the league (by our fans measurements) to an essentialy core piece of the future of this team. Scottie B was a bust last year, now no one is saying that. I just saying, we don't know what Bruce Brown brings us just yet.. he might start playing just fine and gets traded this offseason. I not saying never criticize, I saying if you are taking this trade to heart, consider on the implications and consider how wrong people generally are when they don't give things time. He seems to not hate it here in some ways, who is to say that won't translate in 2 weeks
Bruce Brown is over paid at 22m…so a trade at the deadline wouldn't have been for just a 1st round pick there would have been salary coming back and most likely would carry for multiple years. Bruce Brown was a flexibility piece where they could have possibly traded him away (if the deals on the table were worth it-which it looks like they weren't) or they can decline his team option for next season and open up 22m in cap space this summer (which I think is what will happen this off season). Or they just ride him out for the last year of his contract.
With Bruce Brown making 22m he will be harder to trade going forward as teams over the second Apron won't be able to aggregate salaries to bring in one player starting this summer.

I thought trading bb would have been preferred to keeping him. However if the offers aren’t there they aren’t there. And a gm wants to operate from a position of strength and accepting any offer just to at least get something can potentially do more harm than good. You don’t want to be know by other gms as a guy who can be fleeced if you just wait it out long enough. Not making the trade could have more to do with future deals and keeping up appearances more then anything.
