Lauri played 41 minutes and was a +6. We lost by 12 in the 7 minutes he didn’t play

10th pick here we come
helix400
A good tank loss. Played the rookies. Kept it close. No Kessler and an injured Markkanen. Didn’t get a good whistle much of that 4th quarter.
Still fighting for that 10th pick (seems Atlanta and Houston are fighting for it too)

John Collins has the most misleading stat lines lol. 18/6/3 on 8/13 from the field looks great. But he played terrible defense and was a team worst -16.

Would anyone here trade Keyonte as part of a package for Trae Young?
Would you do it IF another trade package brought in Mikal Bridges at the same time?

We played a good game and I saw what I needed to see from the young guys. We need to lose a few more to avoid conveying at this point since the play in isn’t going to be an option
UnfortunatePhysics
Well I can’t really ask for more this late in the season. Good showing from our rookies, Lauri had a rough showing but very respectably fought to the end. Would’ve liked to have seen some more Brice minutes but I’m sure they’ll come

We can’t stop offensively-competent wings from walking all over us. Luckily, this aligns with our strategy to competitively tank from here on out.
Notable recent wing performances from every game since the trade deadline.
* (Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant combine for 61 points with Devin Booker out) * Klay Thompson snapped out of his funk with 26 points on 11-19 shooting * Rui Hachimura got praises out of his team with a season-high 36 points on 13-19 shooting * Klay Thompson exploded again for a season-high 35 points on 13-22 shooting * Miles Bridges and Grant Williams combine for 50 points on 17-36 shooting * Devin Vassell led the Spurs with 27 points * Jalen Johnson (22), Bogdan Bogdanovic (19), and DeAndre Hunter (20) combined for an efficient 61 points in a 27 points Hawks win * Paolo Banchero got 29 points on 10-16 FG, 8-11 FT despite having a 54.6% TS on the season
And finally, just now…
* Jimmy Butler leads the Heat to a narrow win with 37 points on 12-19 FG, 10-11 FT
Look for Avdija/Kuzma to have a great game against us. Then DeMar DeRozan in the game after that.

Can’t even be mad about this one. Fun game to watch and the effort was there. The play-in is almost certainly out of the question at this point so getting lots of experience for the young guys is the best strategy right now, and they certainly got it this game.
Keyonte looked like our best player today (and played 43 minutes!) and Hendricks looks more and more exciting each game.

Small rant: I hope the team trades John Collins this summer. I don’t think he’s a bad player, and think he’s a great teammate. But he can’t be on a roster with Markkanen, Kessler, Hendricks and 2 non-shooting guards in Dunn and Sexton.
It’s not a coincidence that despite good stats he has by far the worst +/- on the team: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/utah-jazz-plus-minus-leaders . His defender is always in the lane without being punished. Markkanen missed some gimmes at the rim today, but look at his situation when he does anything but shoot 3’s. He’s always doubled within 0.1 seconds of crossing the 3-point line. Same is true for everyone else.
IMO the team needs to improve the roster by adding a 2-way 3 for next season. The pick is 1-10 protected next season too, but look how hard it is to get there. IMO you’re gonna have at least 7 teams with worse rosters than the Jazz next season + you know some team will have injuries and be forced to tank. Or trade Markkanen and Sexton and commit to the tank for real.
On the game only opinion is that Jimmy is allowed to smack our players bodies when he has the ball and get 2 free throws from it. Hard to guard a player like that.

Not a single one of you should be upset by that loss.

Just got off a plane home, game notes will resume next game.

Tank enjoyers are putting together quite the run lol

Don’t watch many jazz games. Here to say I’m a Keyonte George believer now

Honestly a great game from the rebuilding standpoint. I want to see Hendricks & Keyonte closing every single game the rest of the year.
Keyonte George is going to be so good. The small stuff he is learning to do on offense is soooo impressive. The hate this kid gets from some of our fanbase is insane.
Hendricks improving every game on how to defend in the NBA and looks more comfortable on offense. Learning moments on Jimmy baiting him is great for him to see.
Also, I didn’t miss Clarkson at all tonight, looked like Keyonte & Sexton were more freed up without him.
However, playing THT because JC isn’t available is absolutely not the right choice. Took THT less than a minute to drive recklessly to the rim and turn it over. He doesn’t learn at all from his mistakes, playing him over literally anyone is bad.

Lauri’s efficiency has been tanking since the trade deadline….he isnt as efficient as he once was
