That guy did as well so Grimes while he had a solid defensive performance especially uh you know we’ll always remember the stop against Jimmy Butler in game five against the Miami Heat in the second round of the playoffs you need a little more than that than just defense you need some offense because

That’s what the Knicks lacked last year so the move of the front office looked at is that we’re trying to win win now we have a guy like Brunson on a really good contract we have Julius Rand when he comes back also on a solid contract

Hard or Dante you have one of those guys I think they’re in good shape man they have great if they in great shape with the possibilities I think if you were to go death line up with Mitchell Robinson you’d choose Dante because to me you have three really good three-point

Shooters randle’s a capable three-point shooter depending on the game and if you think about the spacing at that point all four of those guys could be out on the perimeter and then you really open it up for Mitch man you could run a pick and roll with either one of those guys

And then Mitch is just open it’s not as packed as it was prior to the trade where you have RJ Randall and even D even Grimes or Dante out there because now with Dante the way he’s been shooting in the three you have to respect them right you can’t just leave

Him open he’s automatic if he’s just left wide open no one’s covering him so I think you can still You could argue that with Mitchell Robinson that’s still a death lineup defensively it’s there um even if you think about Dante who’s not necessarily the best isolation Defender

The same iHeart gives them much more spacing offensively you could run offense through him he can pass we know that but defensively I think Mitch can really help turn things up a notch as well not just by his physical prowess if he’s healthy and in shape but also

Through the communication and being that signal caller for him absolutely um I just think about when Draymond Green after the first championship and really when the Warriors went on that 73 and9 run and how they always highlighted draymond’s communication and directing traffic and saying that his understanding of how to direct traffic

How to understand how to set up the defense was just Savant level right and for Mitchell Robinson he’s taking another step in doing that as you noted look man defense is more communication and effort those are the two big things and now that you have somebody like OG out there and Mitch

Glass um keeping the Knicks off of the glass I got to look at the second chance points and see how both teams did let’s look that up real quick how many Second Chance points did Knicks get in this game compared to Detroit go to the game charts nba.com the ESPN doesn’t track
