Jaylen Brown on the Warriors sagging off and letting him shoot early in the game: “First time it’s ever happened to me. Honestly, I was a bit surprised … We just took advantage of whatever that attempt was and made the best of it.”

As the wise man u/SquimJim once said: ‘if you sag off, ya swag’s off.’

Draymond Green played it off like he did it on purpose, but I can’t tell if he’s bullshitting or actually thinking leaving Jaylen Brown who’s been hitting 39.6% of his wide open 3’s was a smart business decision.

But hey, credit to Draymond Green, it definitely worked in ensuring CP3 will never get a ring. Guaranteed.

I could understand trying to force guys like white, horford and holiday to beat you, but doing it to the guy who was 2nd team all nba last year, is pretty fucking stupid.

Felt like a desperate strategy from a coach who knew his team might not have it against a red hot Celtics team and this being the 3rd game for the Warriors in four nights. Gamble on Brown shooting himself out of the game. Didn’t pay off.

From the warriors comments about how they made the plan 15 minutes before tipoff my guess was this was a reaction to KP being out.

Brown was missing his security blanket so they decided to try the Miami strategy from last year and force Jaylen to beat them himself.

But they should have watched a bit of film because the key part of the Miami defense was ball pressure to keep JB from finding a rhythm. It wasn’t just some cheap gimmick – they had a whole switch/trap scheme designed to force Jaylen to drive and then collapse on him. And it was smart because what Spo realized is that if you let Jaylen be a secondary focus of the defense he can turn into a microwave at any moment and put up 15 points in 5 minutes.

Literally deciding not to guard him was silly and the warriors should have seen this coming.
