Everyone downplays the 2020 chip. He won for the City, and the Franchise the year we lost Kobe. Being in LA at that time it’s like somebody stole the soul of the city when Kobe died. Winning that chip was like it was out of a movie script. That’s worth more than any other trophy. Like think to yourself for a minute if he hadn’t won that year? Nah on that alone he gets a statue.

*In terms of Lakercentric history*, LeBron is just a step-up from the likes of Michael Cooper or Nick Van Exel. As much as he’s done for the entire NBA, LeBron falls short of a statue while others like Derek Fisher and Jamaal Wilkes have impacted the Lakers more in their time and warrant a statue more.

I think he deserves a statue. He still has a lot of accolades as a laker and just his status as top 2 to ever play the game I feel any franchise should be honored to have players of this caliber play for them. Maybe not a huge center piece statue, but something. You can’t overstate how great players like this truly are and if I owned a franchise and got lebron on my team for even a year or 2 while he averaging 15 minutes a game and 10 points, I don’t care. Just having him on the team would be great for my franchise and great for basketball.

Lakers statues are different than other teams because they have won 17 championships. 1 ring doesn’t make you a Laker HOF. But i guess there is the argument about the records he’s broken in a Laker uniform

If Lebron does end up doing enough in Lakers uniform to deserve a statue, that would be obvious on it’s own too.
Gasol was a huge reason we got 2, does he deserve a statue? Probably not. So Lebron would have to exceed Gasol’s impact to deserve one here.
Anthony Davis doesn’t deserve one as of now either.
