Bit of an overpay IMO but not a big deal (was hoping for something closer to 2/16m-2/20m). 4-5m isn’t that big a deal in this rising cap environment.

Big fan of the extension. Kelly will be invaluable for the development of our passing forwards + Jak. Not to mention the Canadian buff.

teams would have given him a 3rd maybe even a 4th year at around 10-11 mill maybe 9, Masai hates giving those longer term contracts so giving slightly more for a shorter team is better

Even if people think he would’ve gotten less in free agency, the problem was his cap hold is about 23 mill or so.
So if you let him test market you lose that cap space flexibility than if you extend him now
Kelly is the man and an ideal bench fit for us.
