Just ignore the past 3 trade deadlines where the team kept trying to shop him and nobody took them up on it

  2. friskyel

Welp, better give up on ever winning a championship.

  3. AdikSaMatcha

LOL. Bring that shi outta here, you can also leave Midd

I don’t blame THJ for doing what he does best. He’s here for one thing and one thing only; shoot the ball.

Failing that he should be benched when he’s in a slump since he doesn’t bring anything else to the table when his shot isn’t falling. And that falls directly on Kidd. You need to yank him out and let someone else have a try.

Not let THJ build a brick house for the local homeless population.

*”We need Timmy if we want to win a championship”* says the head coach of a team that made their only Playoffs run the year when Timmy got injured and missed 2nd half of the season.

  6. On the one hand, I get why Kidd is trying to build Timmy’s confidence back up. But he is actively losing games for this team. Maybe a few sulk sessions on the bench would do him better.

  7. Remarkable_Map_6552

I trust that you believe that Kidd. That’s why you won’t be here next season.

  8. PleasantTrust522

Saying this shit should be a firable offense. What a moron.

OK. I’ve been reluctant to join the “fire Jason Kidd” chorus. but fire Jason Kidd.

It’s just comical at this point. He talks about THJ like he’s some young, newly-acquired, raw talent that still has unlocked potental when in fact, he’s been playing for a decade and has shown no improvement: an inefficient shooter, a poor ball handler and a traffic cone on defense.

Add this statement to Kidd’s mindset regarding defense and you have the ingredients for a wasted season.

I think some of you guys are looking at this the wrong way. Shooting is a confidence mentality. It’s like how Steve Kerr is trying to motivate Klay. Both players have obviously regressed. However you never say that about your players. Kidd has also been lowering Timmy’s minute every game since ASB. He only got 14 minutes yesterday and 0 minutes in the 4th. Just like Kerr finally put Klay on the bench( just for the people who think I’m comparing the two’s careers, I’m not). He just wants to get his confidence because THJ clearly has been reading all the stuff said about him

We probably do need Tim to play well. But even more so we need a coach who recognizes when he isn’t playing well, coaches up his good tendencies, and coaches out the bad ones, and puts him in a good place to succeed. Kidd essentially just lets him go shoot 12 times a night, good or bad, and has constantly had him defending the best opposing player late in the game. He’s putting him in terrible spots on D by scheme alone.

  13. But what about to make the playoffs?

I’m less concerned with having Timmy on our roster, and more concerned (again) with the coaching decisions.

“We need that inefficient scorer to win a title. When we look back at those 1/15 games behind the 3 point line then you’ll thank me.”

  15. smhuff91reddit

I honestly think not playing him is going to help him in the long run. It’ll give him time to get out of his head and not have so much compounding pressure from all the shitty games he’s had recently. He will step up when we need him down the road, but we can’t force it right now because it’s not working and we have better players just sitting on our bench…

  16. Someone tell Jason Midd we’re an 8 seed and not even guaranteed to make the damn playoffs. You play who will help you win games. Period.

  17. luka2309

Lmao, atp I think Kidd is fucking with us hahaha.

  18. MajesticPossibility8

Nico or Cuban need to make a decision soon, why trade picks for players and not want to win now, why not let DJJ, Hardy, Gafford get runs when others are struggling? Maxi is injury prone and he keeps playing him, maxi need rest if this team wants to make a run and THJ is slumping bad at the moment, Gafford and and Hardy can be a nice change of pace. DJJ to give Green some rest or play on certain mismatches.

  19. Incorrect1012

Some of yall literally do not understand basketball if you don’t understand why a coach would say this about a player

  20. Cambocant

Anyone that thinks THJ is an essential part of a championship team is reality challenged.

  21. Putrid_Ad_2256

Defense doesn’t lie.  If you’re not putting in the work at the gym or are just cooked, then it’s going to show on the scoreboard when your player assignment continuously beats you off the dribble.  It would be different if THJ was locking down his man, but he’s not.  I’m not sure what bullshit Kidd is on, but he needs to go fuck himself.

  22. hiiigoon

If we need Timmy to win a championship I’m assuming we need Powell to be a dynasty.

  23. Damedius33

In all honesty the best thing for the Mavs, ignoring the locker room problems it would probably cause, is to bench THJ.

Play Hardy, at least he has some upside.

But since Timmy is on the Friendship council, I doubt this happens.

  24. PussyCharlatan

People acting like Timmy just not hitting shots is the problem and not the type of shots he takes need to watch a different sport

  25. popstarkirbys

We aren’t winning with both Kidd and Timmy on the team. At least Powell hasn’t really been an issue.

  26. LuciusVarinus

Kidd coached the Mavs to the WCF a couple seasons ago when Timmy was injured and unavailable…

  27. Hulabuga420

This is exactly why Kidd excelled as an ASSISTANT coach because he wasn’t in charge of rotations, lineups, and decision making; maybe that’s why lbj speaks highly about him during his time with the lakers. Lbj didn’t experience the true Jason midd experience.

  28. GMEandAMCbroughtme

Something has to be said for Kidd’s loyalty and leadership though. Seriously. Kidd is beleaguered and under fire but refuses to turn on his loyal players. Before you flame me I hope THJ stubs his toe as we speak. Can’t stand watching brick after brick but whoever acts like Kidd is just some heartless asshole might be miscalculating.

  29. bentherewanthat85

I mean, he’s supposed to be our most viable, consistent third option. Who is it without him? PJ?

  30. mmmmastermind

Wow, I never knew we were close to winning a chip lmao
