It’s not just luck, it’s also about *who* your team lets take these wide open shots. Are your rotations so bad that you let Steph and Klay take the wide open shots or are you forcing Draymond and Looney to take them?
It’s also about *where* you give up wide open shots. A wide open 16’ baseline jumper has a much lower eFG% than a wide open corner 3 that guys are practicing all summer. If you can run a shooter off a corner 3 and give up a wide-open baseline jumper, then you’ll live with that shot.
