Friendly reminder that the last time the Celtics played Denver, Jokic + Murray shot a combined 29/43 on FGs and JB + JT shot 2/17 from 3 … and they only lost by 2

The Denver immortality has absolutely been overblown. It’s the combination of a strong run last year, having the best player in the world, and a certainty that they will always execute on offense when it matters. But they clearly have holes, outside of Jokic and Murray their other players can be up and down in terms of offense. And although they have a good playoff defense, it’s not near elite and can be exploited.
The only people that can beat the Celtics are the Celtics. If they execute and perform, no one will beat them in a 7 game series.

Not a huge believer in if they shot this well and we lost by this much we should win next time, but that was a very winnable game. Jokic + Murray 2 man game was unstoppable last time and apart from some of Murray’s shots, they got great looks and will likely make those at a similar rate. JT and JB of course can and likely will play better but others could still be off and make up those misses from the first game. I don’t think the games where everyone is hitting is a great measuring stick but rather the ones with 2-3 players not at their best that night. Those are the games we need to consistently win (and we have).
I think this would be a 6-7 game series in the finals but today I’m mainly looking for if we stick with letting Jokic go off and staying put on others or if we switch it up. I think the rest of the games this season should be watched from more of a basketball perspective until the end of the year rather than a results perspective. I know who this team is and none of the remaining games will change that. Curious to see how this game plays out from a strictly basketball perspective tonight.

These kinds of stats are meaningless because not only can those two duplicate those stats, they might even do better. And, any number of other infinite possibilities can occur that leads to a celtics loss.

why are you posting a friendly reminder about how the celtics lost and our best players shot awfully? that’s not very friendly.
