“Why are we still trusting him to win games? Shouldn’t Svi Mikhailiuk be taking the last shot?”

Now seriously, Jesus Christ, Marcus, you really liked to play hero-ball, didn’t you?

That last game wasn’t all on him, they blew the 4th and Cavs stepped up.

That said, I sure f’ing hope he is working on his approach in the final seconds because that attempt was pretty bad. They score much better with ball movement but totally threw away that concept because it was the last shot. That’s dumb.

Fake news! I saw the compilation and only those really difficult turn around shots should be counted.

Please post this on r/nba for those idiots

The Tatum slander after he took the shot everyone has been begging him to take, and even drawing a foul call is so funny to me. Like damn y’all been begging for him to take a midrange there all year

People don’t care about this they just hate everything boston and will use whatever to paint the team as garbage and the fans as terrible people, hence why everyone says we’re racist

Dude, those people on /r/nba clowning the Celtics are just hater trolls that were getting their bowels backed up and were ready to explode because our guys went on a truly scary winning streak.

They were probably like some dudes that over-indulged on some cheap chili buffet and were desperately looking for a toilet.

So when CLE got lucky, it was a MASSIVE RELIEF for those trolls because they couldn’t take it anymore and were ready to soil their moms’ basements. Of course they were going to celebrate like crazy.

But don’t worry, all those assholes are going to eat a ton of shit come June. Fuck those haters. Celtics are the bawlz

The truth is always in the middle. Tatum has proven that he has the capability to deliver clutch/HUGE shots or performances (Game 6 vs Milwaukee, 4th Q of Game 6 v Philly and obv the 50 bomb vs Philly. HOWEVER; he has also proven that his approach when it comes to the final shot/single possessions can be very questionable (I.e. pounding the ground for 15 seconds just to take a contested low efficiency fadeway).

My opinion is that while I trust Tatum at all times, he and we are doing ourselves a disservice by employing Tatum iso with the starting lineup we have where everyone can shoot or facilitate. The defense breathes a HUGE sigh of relief seeing us go iso rather than running our regular offense that torments them for the first 45 mins. With the lineup we have, idc who takes the shot at the end of the game as long as its a good, high percentage opportunity. We simply don’t need to deploy the “get the ball to your best guy and gtfo of the way” strategy whatsoever given our starting 5.

  9. Yup JT has put the team on his back multiple times when it mattered. Especially against the Bucks 2 years ago, and against Philly last season. That series looked over until JT came back to life and obliterated the Sixers (yet somehow no one holds it against Embiid that he chokes every season).

I just want there to be some action in these end of game moments. JT off the dribble by himself doesn’t lead to quality shots. It would be different if JT was alone, but this team is completely stacked. The Celtics have so many smart players, all of them can shoot and pass. We gotta take advantage of it so the opposing team is always guessing.

Well yeah but he missed the last one so none of this matters because it hurt my feelings

I feel like the colors need to be swapped lol, red generally signifies hot shooting with blue meaning cold. Had me confused at the start

Please do it again for “have to have it” situations. Let’s say: Last minute, game within 2.

  13. Jealous_Foot8613

Crazy how this stat exists yet all I’ve heard the last 2 days is how un clutch he is and I’ve seen that stat about his fg% in clutch situations paraded all over Twitter.

  14. GooseMay0

People keep using this defense. We’re not talking about last five minutes. This season he’s been bad with final shot as has the team.

  15. sebastiy1

Thing is Tatum is pretty clutch on last minutes, he always shows up when it matters but the literally last second plays/shots have kinda stagnated into iso step back 3s or post ups with fadeaways that seem really hard to hit, both he and Joe need to think a little bit more on what to do on those last second plays to change the script a little bit.

  16. Moodapatheticz

r/nba will just move the goal posts. It’ll be how can someone so clutch not have won a ring. He’s a choker instead

  17. hoopbag33

It’s not “down the stretch” that’s the issue. It’s the literal last possession when he decides it’s time for 13 dribbles and a fade away. Why are we pretending he doesn’t do this when it’s close?

This place will be on fire if the Celtics lose to the Nuggets.
