Should read NBA executives will try to force the Warriors to overpay for Klay.

Who gets more this offseason, Malik Monk or Klay Thompson?

I’m a huge Klaytheist but that seems high?

    He’s worth 16-18M.

Klay is a good player but athletically washed.

For someone coming off the bench you don’t wanna be paying a premium.

It’s a lot of money but NBA salaries have gone up a lot over the last few years. This seems accurate and I’d be thrilled if the Warriors could resign him for that.

Klay’s good up to 10 FGAs per game. Above that it’s diminishing returns.

I really like Klay coming off the bench. It has released the tension and pressure on him to have to score 20+ every game. That said…no bench players get $25mil a year

NBA executives believe Klay Thompson is worth up to $20-25 million a year; NBA executives also decline to say which year.

Massive overpay. Hope Warriors don’t fall for it

We are really in a tought spot with Klay. It is just not about money. He is not a 3 and D guy. He is a volume shooter. Not only He will take a spot in the CAP but also in shots.

Win a championship this year, then we’ll talk.

“NBA execs praying the dubs give Klay another bag”

Wouldn’t be surprised if he got that from a desperate team like Charlotte

Uh, last season we had rumors from teams that they were gonna offer Austin Reeves massive contracts and in the end nobody bothered to outbid the Lakers on his $14M/year deal lmao.

I can see a team giving him 2 years at 25 mill (Pistons), but does he want to go to them is up to him.

I think as a starter Klay’s looking at $20 million a year for maybe a two, possibly a three year deal, with another team with cap space.

    As a Warrior, Klay’s a backup, and he’s looking at $14 million a year,
    possibly a three year deal.

Teams with cap space next free agency will be Philly, Orlando, Detroit, Toronto, Utah, OKC, San Antonio, Chicago. The Lakers are above $160 million and wouldn’t be able to do anything with him and would need a sign and trade or significant roster movement to get him at $20 million.

I think the Warriors hold the cards, and it looks like a stacked hand rn.

And how much was he worth when he got injured and didn’t play but still got paid?

2 yrs for $35M, 2nd year as a player option. That should be the offer this offseason. $40M at max, but that seems pretty high for him relative to his production. I really hope he can retire as a warrior, but if another team offers him more and he is willing to leave, I wish him nothing but the best.

I think 15 m is reasonable for both parties. Now that he’s willing to come off the bench he is actually going to be a great pick for title contending teams . I don’t want to see him joining teams like bucks or Denver, he might actually make them champ.
