“Got To Continue To Keep Shooting It.” | Micah Nori Postgame Sound | 03.08.24

Coach in the uh fourth quarter and in overtime the offense just seemed to dry up what made it so difficult to get things rolling offensively late yeah I think um obviously they’re a very good defensive team and you know we we you know we lose that uh quarter 18 to 17 so

Both teams I thought they both ued their their defense as you’re saying to your point and you know we had some good looks because we tried to do with space out a out a little bit especially with nas who who got hot and then had some

Good looks had some open looks I felt just couldn’t knock them down but um and then even though we were getting stopped we were trying to push and play in transition before they could sit which is obviously a very good defense and uh still just struggle to convert Nas made

The seven threes but as a team you guys only had eight whether it’s tonight or for as long as Carl is out where is that three-point production going you think yeah I think like you said I mean you hit it on the head we were one for 19

You take nods out of the game Mike 0 for five and 0 for seven so I mean shoot if uh either of them make one in the regular you know throughout the thing but I think with those guys making taking 12 excuse me and even Jaden one

Through four one for four those guys are going to make shots I don’t know if it was legs and a back toback they had some good looks but uh obviously without CAD who who shoots 40% and takes a good number of them we got to find uh some

Guys that uh are going to knock it down I know finy says the same thing to them we just got to continue to keep shooting it have um you know even Mike the other night against Indiana struggled a little bit and then made the big one when it

Mattered there in the fourth so but absolutely we’re always going to miss Carl especially games like this where um you know it’s a it’s a back and forth he’s always going to find a way to score in the post or hit a big shot so we’ll

Miss him and it’s kind of a um fill in for him by committee if you will and uh but I thought the guys just especially second line of back toback that competed and just a couple of things here and there that uh that cost is some Gin was

Really able to work you guys when he got inside the perimeter defense and was in front of the bigs and then when goar went out just that interior passing with with slowmo and uh no as your front Court was was hard to do yeah and I think like you say just defensively then

What we tried to do was try to get to switching it and then you know and then looked if we needed to just kind of try to fix it or kick him out but uh they were just hurting us to your point with Allen big dude down there and then all

That being said I think that really the uh the second chance points they had some big ones you know on the Miss free throws that obviously hurt us and then we foul uh Garland with what point2 on the shot clock on the three ball and so

Couple of just and but I think they had two offensive rebounds on the uh the free throw but uh and then down the stretch I mean give yourself a chance it’s we’re up 9796 and um we got to be better you know just a technical foul

With 27 seconds going the game is is quite honestly just it’s unexpectable unacceptable but that’s not who Rudy is but uh at the end of this one you just got to be smarter M I know like fatigue is never an excuse you know you want to

Use but can you help us or help contextualize I what the fatigue factor is for this team right now given the four back toback since Allstar break I know guys got illness going around here too like yeah what sort of adversity did that present um I mean at the end of the

Day everybody has it everybody goes through it I mean you know we’re not the only team that has like the the back toback but when the game starts stacking up and I think when you are limited I mean with no Monte the other night you know J M to your point obviously with

With no Carl TJ just coming in who’s been great in the two games he’s been here so guys are stacking minutes up I mean you see ant 4 too after the game he had last night and all these guys high 30 so I think that’s where you see the

Shots just maybe a little bit short at times and um it’ll be good it kind of lightens up I know we pretty much play every other day and then we have that three-day stretch before we go into Utah but it’s just kind of a cumulative catch up you really don’t have much practice

Time and then it’s fly play back to backs and and you really don’t have a lot of time to recover to uh fill your tank back up follow up on the Rudy technical you said that it was unacceptable part but he was frustrated too he he was obviously frustrated and

You’re absolutely right and I think both ways both teams were frustrated and um you know I thought that the game was called pretty much the same way both ways and so I think both teams were a little bit frustrated that’s basketball but we just have to be smarter I don’t

Know I think he made a visual or something that is kind of an automatic and he just and we all know Rudy I mean dag on I mean there’s no there’s no more professional guy than him and in that moment for him to just do that was was

Obviously he feels awful about it but um we just got to be a little bit better and then when did you uh find out that you were going to run things yeah it was about 5 minutes before the game uh finy just he wasn’t feeling well but uh quite

Honestly it was it was probably better because you don’t have to worry about or think about it all day and the one thing I will say I mean finy obviously does a great job and the staff the sport that with all our assistant coaches everybody the roles really didn’t change and this

Thing is quite honestly is pretty much plug and play and we got a lot of vets I mean between Mike and Kyle and Rudy aun knows what he’s doing so and in the continuity that we’ve had I mean it could have been any of us out out there

And um you know and so it really wasn’t a a shock or a big change for the guys I wasn’t trying to do anything different than what I know finy would do and I think that the more we can stay um with the same Continuum if you will or like

That is the best for us one decision you did have to make I think was putting Nas back in the game with about 3 minutes left that wasn’t part of the standard but as you say I mean he had like 80% of his fre is that that the dominant thing

That was that was the thinking and the other thing too is I mean it goes back to your point Dean about the the and all that type of thing I mean Kyle at at 35 that’s a lot and he was in for a long stretch and and the point that Nas had

It going and just give us another shooter and and you know both those guys I mean they’re great as the backup Force CU Kyle can handle and finish and do different things like that and Nas obviously was had it going tonight in space in the floor and it kind of gave

Them some issues so uh but that was the logic on that one n just talked so much this season about nz’s ability to guard on the perimeter helping to unlock so much of your guys defense um that it’s kind of flash ball moment there and the

Switch on Garland and get in the block there obviously don’t get the result that you wanted out of the game but do that play just kind of Representative of nz’s progression and how have you seen Nas grow I think most definitely I think a lot of times I mean the question with

Nas to the force one he did a great job switching and and and what the the game plan on Garland was if you do get switched up just to press up and make him have to beat you not on the first dribble but make him you know maybe East

West to that second dribble and that’s fine cuz then we can we can help but uh and we just what we didn’t want was too much space where he could shoot get to his step back in that type of thing but Nas has been phenomenal I think uh you

Know there was always questions like you know we always worried about Nas garding on the perimeter you know and now he’s pretty much even when when cat and he are playing together he’s playing predominantly at the four and you’re you’re very very comfortable now with

With switching I think a lot of the time not to get too technical with it but he’s done a lot better jobs of kyp or knowing personnel and sending guys the direction we want them to go and not gambling but again the big thing for them is just to square yourself up when

These bigs get on these Smalls what we don’t want is step back threes or threes and obviously is all the length that we have behind forc them downhill into those tough twos and kind of hit a wall in the second half yeah you know it’s funny at

At at half I thought that um he was struggling a little bit obviously but um we’re all so accustomed that when he has a bad one in the first half that you just wait for him just to explode for for 20 and I think that um or whatever

It may be or put together a string and they did a good job they were they were putting two up on on him all night long and um and obviously down the stretch when when we’re bogg bogged down back to Mar’s point you know you got to get the

Ball in his hands and hope that that at some point you got to make some tough shots especially when the open ones aren’t going in but uh yeah I mean I think with ant you can probably count on one hand is many of these had nights

Like this but um and to his credit he’ll never say a word but I mean the kid sprains his ankle the first play everybody forgets about when he was uh last night when he falls on the one free you know on top and he hits the floor

Hard and then obviously the blocks so it was like he played in a football game dag on the a but um but yeah that’s one of the first ones that um ant hasn’t been able to at least one of the two halves have that stretch we’re used to

  1. The game was called pretty much the same way both ways? Micah does not make enough money to even try to be honest with that quote. Refs decided the outcome. End of story.

  2. Poor guy doesn't make enough to take the fine for keeping it real about the refs.

  3. You did well Micah. Wish you woulda brought Naz back in the 4th a bit earlier and challenged Rudys 6th foul but you did well.

  4. Stupid coach kept playing bum kyle anderson. Didnt call timeouts when needed. Poverty franchise.

  5. Can yall start tj over Anderson y’all next game to spread the floor more for ant, it’s hard to get the offense going when u have two non deep threat on the floor same time

  6. What about the OVERT RIGGING. Rudy called out the ref about getting paid to rig the game then got kicked out of the game.
    NBA IS PATHETIC
    I’M OUT

  7. We need an investigation
I’m calling the fbi to investigate the ownership and management of the league

  8. It’s one game. You learn more from the loses but they never feel good, got to play better. I believe in this years team

  9. ALL Professional sports need to distance themselves from all of the ONLINE GAMBLING! Adam Silver was lobbying Congress in 2013 to regulate and legalize online sports gambling. There definitely needs to be a major investigation.

  10. Another fake coach. Too much selfish people applying for leadership jobs. They focus too much on themselves and power trip.
