Over this time span if you filter to guys taking at least 5 per game (which leaves only elite volume 3pt shooters, [I mean look at the names lol](https://imgur.com/rtEA4s7)) he is 2nd in effeciency on these shots behind Harden. Tatum is at 38.9% and Harden is at 39.6%.
Pretty promising considering it’s a pretty decent sample size at 32 games and 180 total shots. If he were forcing the issue more to get his early on in games he’d be averaging 30+ and be a pretty realistic MVP candidate instead of a distant 4th/5th but I’ll take the wins lol.
If he is able to carry this shooting into the postseason we should be pretty unbeatable in the east. A big reason we struggled through rounds 2 and 3 to the finals in 22 is that Tatum wasn’t hitting these shots efficiently. 30.4% vs Milwaukee’s smothering paint defense on 6.6 attempts, 33.3% vs Miami on 3.4 attempts, which isn’t too terrible but not great either. He was randomly hot in the finals despite stinking it up otherwise, hitting 43.5% of them on 3.8 attempts.

41.2% overall from 3pt in the last 31 games
Hopefully it carries over to the playoffs cuz I remember him shooting like shit especially against Miami last year
Our fans want him to have a Giannis shot diet
the 2022 finals always strikes me as an odd outlier, he only shot 36% from the field, but somehow shot 45% from 3
What about wide open catch and shoot 3s

“His shot pocket was too high on his off dribble jumpers. We lowered it back to normal when he came to LA around Christmas.
Was shooting 29.9% off dribble 3s. Since then, shooting 38.4% off dribble 3s.”
I think from a fans perspective it’s the clutch factor in tight games against tough competition I’d like to either see improvement or a change of approach. If sinking the game winning shot is not his thing and won’t be his thing then mazulla needs to scheme around it.
The biggest thing I want from the team and Tatum very much in particular is late game pace. Tatum needs to attack. Their defense is too good to not trust it.

The doomers who were convinced he should shoot less 3s were and have always been total morons. It takes a special kind of idiot to look at Tatum, probably the best 3 level scorer in the league, and say that he should stop shooting and only drive/post up
