The positive for the Knicks: Jalen Brunson getting two on the ball. The flip for the Knicks: you have to make the defense pay. Look at how early and how far in Harris/Lowry are on the weakside vs. Precious/Hart. Precious has a pocket on the re-screen but Reed steps up to help.

brunson slow to pass out of it because he knows precious not a threat to shoot the 3. both him and hart wide open but not threats. can’t wait for randle to come back obviously but even just OG will make a huge difference in how teams will have to play us if it’s OG in the corner there instead of hart.
Overall, they failed to exploit any double teams or help last night. In many cases, if someone found the open man, the open man either: missed or pump fake-drive-kick-repeat-fail. Credit to the sixers, though. They rotated pretty well.
This is on coaching.
Achiuwa should be split stepping and driving as soon as he gets the ball because if he does, Hartenstein is open for the lob or the near corner is open for the three.
He either must commit to taking the three immediately or driving.
After last night, the clear answer was to drive.
Achiuwa can put the ball on the floor, he must be coached and encouraged to do so.
Last night was coaching malpractice.
Brunson will be doubled, that’s a given.
The key is how his teammates respond.
Achiuwa and Hartenstein must be prepared to make plays.
One or two hard dribbles on the drive while reading the help defense then be prepared to shoot or know where the open teammate is.
If the lane is open, take it.
The key is not focusing on the defender directly in front, but identifying and correctly countering the help defender.
Achiuwa and Hartenstein must be more involved in reading and reacting properly, but they have not done so consistently, and that is on the coaching.
