Trayce Jackson-Davis Reflects on Warriors Win Against San Antonio Spurs

Uh take us through that that dunk over Wy what did you see and um to finish that over um I saw that he overplayed it and then he overplayed it to my right obviously I’m left-handed so I think I spun or got to my left hand and then I had to step

On him so just trying him I told Lon before the game that if I got the chance to try him I would um but at the end of the day sometimes you dunk on people sometimes you get dunked on so it’s just a basketball play uh just in general um what keyed

That that second half defensively what do you think changed from the first half to the second half I’m just rotating out I thought we were flying to the ball um early in the game we were trying to get situated a little bit but after we kind of find our group found the rotations

That we needed to do um it felt good um we just played hard we got to playing super hard and uh at the end of the day that will carry you what’s it like catching a live from Chris Paul um it’s great um he’s really a coach out there

It’s crazy he tells you exactly what you need to do where you need to be and then uh at the end of the day just going up there and finishing it and so um he’s a great teammate he’s really really fun to play with you and I have talked a little

Bit about some of your favorite dun from this year is it safe to say that you have a new one yeah it’s probably that’s probably number one right now so uh we’ll see what the future has in store have you been able to watch the replay yet uh not yet uh I’ll probably

See it when we get back in the locker room so probably when when you throw it down at the basket instead of connect it um sometimes that’s just how it is uh uh just kind of instinct I didn’t think I could get all the way over his hand and

So just trying to stretch my arm and just be in the air longer than he can and uh sometimes you just got to throw it so so got him I guess a few days ago you were blocking jannis tonight duning onama I think you challenged him at The Rim

Too how much I guess Pride you take in defending and going at some of the biggest and most talented most athletic players in the league um they’re great players um but at the end of the day you got to just take on that challenge and you got to accept it um play with

Draymond and U sometimes I go in for him and every time he he says something to me he gives me confidence and so I just try to go out there and perform every time and so um tonight he said just go take care of business cuz they went on a

Run and he was like and then Chris was like Dre you want to stay in and he was like no Trace you got it you got us and then continue just to play play well so when you got guys like Dre doing that um it gives you a lot of confidence how

Much have you learned from Draymond this year defensively I mean to close of the game tonight it was just you out there with him fouled out you guys held them pretty much scoreless uh so much um just where to be on rotations at halftime if we’re messing up if we if he sees

Something that I can do better he’s always coaching me trying to lift me up and trying to make me a better player so he’s a great vet to learn from

  1. Masterclass in performance from a big rookie and you can tell he's highly intelligent on and off the court. That's what the 4 years in college can do for you if you play the cards the right way.

  2. Whenever people tell you Steve Kerr is great, remember he played Dario Saric over Jackson Davis. Davis could play at IU, not surprised he's good. Saric got beat every possession and wasn't a lob threat. He was played at center for 50% season

  3. Both rookies TJD nd BP2 just having great season nd defo flew under the radar on the scouting reports but they’ve put the NBA on notice showing the right tendencies, making the right plays nd bringing a great work ethic to the Dubs, I know they can do something special in the playoffs 😌

  4. Good ever-loving God: the live sound techs who work the mics on these after game recps?? Fire them ALL. They need to start over & go back to skool. Sheesh! Anyway. lol. Good win for the Warriors w/o Steph.

  5. I always thought that those lines on the sides of his head were just style. I recently found out that they are actually scars from surgery that he had to get when he fractured his skull at age 4.

  6. For a rookie and a young man, his attitude and game is well beyond his years and playing experience. Classy dude, hope he keeps it up.

  7. TJD is surreal! He's doin' it just as a real center does. Blocking, rebounding and helping in the offensive end. GSW needs big men who are of the same caliber as this young fella.
