what can this man do to stop getting hate 24/7? because at this point it seems a lot like nothing. he’s having his best stretch of the season, playing legitimately amazing basketball, and there’s still stuff like this spiteful, narrative fueled video coming out every day: https://youtu.be/q9zXZt5ETXw?si=Xy5_IHeDr_nOD7ZQ obviously he’s never going to live up to the number one pick hype, but the way people talk about him, you’d think he’s averaging 5 points a game and sleeping through practice. he certainly deserves some criticism, but the constant attacks on his basketball ability, and more importantly his character, are really frustrating. I hope the discourse about him eventually turns around, because he hasn’t done anything to deserve the level of hate he receives

If he keeps playing like this, I imagine he’ll stop getting hated on. It’s marvelous to watch this man play right now

Phoenix put him in a no-win situation. He’s the guy they drafted instead of Luka. They blamed him for their loss to the nuggets in the playoffs because he couldn’t single-handedly stop Nikola Jokic. Then the Suns team fucked with his money and made the Pacers make him an offer before matching. If I’d been through that I might have a bit of a chip on my shoulder too.

I wouldn’t pay attention to YouTube. It’s like 20 “content creators” saying the same thing. Negativity gets clicks.

My guess is that a lot of people who said that Terry Stotts was the reason the team wasn’t a contender, and all we needed to do to win was to blow up the team…

    Are now looking for excuses.

People want to see him fail and need a scapegoat.

I do feel like it’s some tall guy syndrome? We are always gonna want more, but he’s playing smart for his size, he’s gonna get fouls called left and right if he isn’t careful.

I think a lot of it is because hes a pretty unique player. Loves the middy and hes god damn good at it. Its weird because hes tall and athletic so people expect him to be a better traditional center, but thats just not his game. I think I remember him saying something like he thinks of himself as more of a pf, and now that ive been able to watch him play, I see it. Reminds me of the “Aldridge soft” comments

Tonight was nice. But I still feel like it’s empty stats. Like do y’all really think this will be a 50 win team with Ayton doing this?

Suns fans are worst in the league. Fair weather and vile.

Most of the people who hate him don’t even watch the blazers. They see a random clip out of a game or they seem to care WAY too much about FTA.

Was at the raptors game. About 3/4 in ayton scored and hubby said he has been pretty quiet so far. I’m like what? He’s the leading scorer out of both teams!!

  12. royalewithchees3

The whole “couldn’t go to the game because his driveway was iced in got him some undeserved hate. We won that game ffs

  13. LazyHater

he needs to play hard every night, like he has been

then the haters gon hate on him anyways cuz haters gon hate

  14. plantsarepowerful

I’m a DA believer, give this man some respect

  15. thecharliepowers4

Agreed. He’s obviously not an all star or all nba guy like you expect out of the first pick. But with all of the bust in recent memory, you think that a guy who has consistently averaged 16 and 10 with 60% shoot would receive less hate

  16. luffyishungry24

People who actually watch the fuckin game and understand hoops knows he’s been pretty good overall for us and I’m happy overall I swear it’s always the casuals saying something negative about him he ain’t perfect and has his flaws but he’s been good for us

This stuff didn’t come out of thin air. He dug this hole and he will have to do more than play great for 2 weeks on a bad team. He could also help himself out by not saying stupid shit. So play hard and dominate for a while and stay humble. Try that for a season then I bet he will be the toast of the league.

Which is probably exactly what he will do for the last season of his contract. Then he will secure another bag and….

He’s giving Aldridge vibes at the minute, absolutely love him
